Gas Guru: Cheap gas prices

This is the best app for my needs. Living 30 miles from the nearest city, when I go there, I don't have to search all over town but can go directly to the station that's going to help my wallet. Thanks!

Originally ap worked flawlessly. Rating 5 stars. But then it stopped every time you go to any detail about a gas station or how to navigate to the one you select. Tried reinstall and tried complaining with no change. It gets a 3 star cause it does show on map what the prices are.

App consistently crashes if you press the top left button. Unable to set default location either. I don't have my GPS on all the time so it be nice to search locations of a destination when you're not located there.

I use this app constantly - and it's only been wrong once. That's some pretty excellent accuracy in my opinion. Gas Guru app delivers what it promises and you can't be the price.

I like the mapped locations option but once I goto the list of locations near me, i cannot go back to the Google like map feature that allows view of areas elsewhere and prices. That feature makes this app preferred over gas buddy since I travel a lot for work.

...but still a great app. Sometimes lengthy delays during price hikes, but still 80% chance it's right when I pull in to the station. Not sure why all the bad reviews, could be phone/GPS issues.

Very easy to use in current area. If I am planning a trip and I know the town 350 miles a way to fill up, I cannot search by the town's name. I have to zoom out and scroll to the other town.

Can't access Home, Work or Other Locations (CRASH!) Can't get details about a location on map (CRASH!) Tried un/reinstall. Same results. Worked GREAT on my old iPhone, but not on my S7 Edge.

This app was great, hasn't worked with marshmallow. At first it would fail to give directions and would shut down, now it claims it can't locate me even though I can see my location on the map.

All the prices are wrong. It also won't let me see when anything was changed or lasted updated without shutting down.

Very helpful & easy to use. Just needs to update more often. Especially when the petroleum company's like to hike up prices everyday . They should go back to being regulated.

I went to 3 different gas stations in one night and none of the prices matched what was on gas guru. One said 2.19 and turned out to be 2.79!!!

Crashes and can you allow me to change the default location if my gps is turned off? I dont live in az and dont always have my gps on.

The app itself is great. I would give it 5 stars if it didn't crash so often on android. As it is now it is virtually unusable.

It's worked for me for a while year, but this past month it says it can't find my location. And when I type in my location using zip, city, or direct address of my location, it won't search it. Ive uninstalled the app and reinstalled it thinking it would help, but nope. So I guess im done with it since its done with me. Smh. Very disappointed.

Have used this app for quite a while, really found it helpful, but w my current device, running Android 6, IT JUST SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK. Shortly after opening it, says the app has stopped. Appears not to be a concern of the developer, notice the app hasn't been updated since March of last year. WILL HAVE TO UNINSTALL.

The problem with this app is that when you are out and about and actually need to use it, that's when it decides not to work. I have been using the app for about a year now and when it works it's great. However if you are moving at all it will not connect to your GPS location about 50% of the time which is really annoying when you need to know where to go buy gas. That's the whole point of the app right? There needs to be better connection to the surrounding area for me to upgrade my review.

Wow, figured I would give your app a try because of GasBuddys inability to control the constant false price reporting. All it does is freeze up, I really don't understand how you even have a rating higher than 2 stars. Good luck with your app!! Your going to need it.

So far I am pleased with this app. It does tell me how much gas is in my town and I can even look in the next town where I work to see if its cheaper there, (which it almost always is). It even tells me the names of the gas stations. I'm sure this app will come in useful on my next vacation. Keep up the good work.

Often cannot find my location and I have to refresh. Also missing several gas stations in my immediate area. Some show but many do not. Prices are rarely up to date anymore. Prices are now well over a week out of date now at some stations. Constantly getting worse.

Can not use "Locations", click on this icon and return is "Unfortunately Gas Guru had stopped." This also occurs when clicking within "Station List" then Gas Guru reboots. New phone, Moto Z, Android 7, Nougat. Also tried your email and was undeliverable. Up 'til now it's been 5 stars. Been using for years. Much more accurate then Gas Buddy. Please repair.

The gas price interface the shows the lowest gas prices in the area offers quick access to the information that's most important. That's feature is the only reason I keep the app, because if you try to get additional info by clicking on a station the app crashes 100% of the time. This 100% failure rate outside of its best feature, forces me to rate the app poorly. I'm willing to update my rating if this issue gets fixed.

I like the apps most day. But there are places that are missed price have been for months. And I still can not find a way to let the developers know these issuse. So maybe this will get there attention

The app rarely works without me rebooting or reinstalling it. It keeps saying there are no gas stations available. My GPS/location setting works on the other apps so not sure why this doesn't work.

Helpful, but not always accurate. In the 2 months I've used this app, I've twice found the actual prices higher than what this app said (in one case, 3 cents, in the other 33 cents), and three times found the prices accurate. A 40% error rate (so far) doesn't earn my trust. UPDATE: After a few more months of use, price accuracy seems much better, maybe 90%. This app doesn't suck up data usage, like Gas Buddy did. I'm tempted to upgrade my rating to 4*... but the inability to report incorrect prices....

Total waste of space. The app say it can't find my location, regardless of trying it on wifi, data, and with GPS on. It won't even let me search my location. Totally useless waste of space. Sounded like a good idea.

Unable to access pricing in other locations without physically dragging map to alternate location. Used to be able to access pricing by entering alternate location and savi. Now app just shuts down. Cleared cache and data with no improvement in function. Going back to Gas Buddy.

Used to be a useful tool and lately claims it can't find my location yet pinpoints my location even when in motion. Sometimes it gives fake gas prices only to find the price much higher when I went there. No ability to report the discrepancy either. Still have the app vaguely hoping it will be fixed but not holding my breath.

Crashes every time I pull up station details. Gas prices frequently inaccurate and there's no way to report. Some displayed prices require membership, cash or special discount cards. These should be noted. Otherwise, the user interface is great.

It seems to need a bit of help in settings. Like search by price. I know what stations are near me but what most people want to know is who's the cheapest. The prices seem quite accurate. Any selection of any station to see all prices makes the app stop working. Android 6

App stops numerous times and since I do not allow tracking and have location turned off, it reverts to San Francisco every time, which is a real pain. I suggest you make it so it can use the last place checked as the first screen when opening the app. Otherwise, It is better than gas buddy because it is accurate and doesn't need as many permissions. If you can make it so it doesn't go back to San Francisco every time, and stop crashing, it will be a solid 5 star app. Samsung Galaxy S5 US cellular Marshmallo

I would give this a 5 if I knew how to connect the listing to a mapping tool. I switched from another gas pricing app and I am very happy with this. Update after 3 months of use, my rating is going from 4 to 5 stars. While I prefer that the mapping feature to link directly to a navigation tool, the list is still so much better and un cluttered with ads that this tool is still more effective than the competition.

This app worked great on my old phone. Now that I have a new phone, the app stops working when I click on a station. It's just a piece of junk now. Waiting for an update which I am sure will never happen.

There are a bunch of places that do not exist listed. Usually they are listed with the best prices. I could not find how to report this in the app. May have cleaned up some fake stations but don't have e85 or other e gas so switching to a competitor.

I've been using this app a long time and I'm going to find something else. The prices aren't accurate and it keeps closing. It used to work so not sure what happened.

Used this for ages, very happy with it, but recently it stopped working and just crashes constantly. Very unfortunate.

Loved the app on my S5. Dead in the water on my S7. Constant crashing and unable to move between tabs or set locations. Sad times...

A classic falling star. It used to work well. It was reliable, had very complete list of gas stations, and was quick to respond. I've had other programs but this one was bloat free and easy to use. But now it just fail. It posts a "cute" (annoying) message: Sorry we ran out of gas. Try again. The GPS fails. Even if you input a location or use the map to select a location it "runs out of gas". But occasionally after opening a competing app it'll finally connect.

I don't often use it but when I do it is very simple and easy to use. 5 stars.

Usually pretty accurate. Sometimes doesn't update for several hours. Sometimes has difficulty finding my location and thus loading the app. Helps to give a heads up on where to get the best value in my area. Thanks!
