About UWILeads
Each year, The University of the West Indies, through the Office of Student Services and Development, engages student leaders in two days of intense and impactful leadership training. Student leaders are exposed to various topics and discussions in the form of presentations, workshops and small group meetings.
The Conference is coordinated for student leaders in hall, the Guild of Students and leaders of clubs and societies. This year the conference will model a format that has proven effective and successful internationally. In addition to the general sessions, students will choose from several innovative and informative concurrent sessions that they will undoubtedly find interesting and useful to their context.
It is our intention to take on the challenge of being both innovative and responsive to the needs of a new generation of student leaders. Rather than interrogate the idea of leadership as a standalone phenomenon, we are choosing to locate the conference within timely and relevant conversations around youth, employment, gender justice and social change in keeping with national and international conversations on leadership.
