NETWORK PLAYER CONTROLLER

I'm using the controller with crx-n560. Most of needed actions it can do, but not all. There would be very useful to have this functions: 1. Search in long lists - net stations, dlna streams, records on usb. 2. I don't understand at all how to add bookmark to net radio station. There is the menu item, but the function isn't. Favourites for net stations and dlna streams is just must have - these sources are too huge for manual examination of all items. This point is also related to point 1. 3. Full and accurate display current state of the receiver in the controller on connect. Actually you can see fm-radio mode and settings from previous session on next connect to the receiver, playing net radio from station which you've been searched for long time scrolling endless list and now haven't ability just to switch on next stations for example... 4. UI design... not so important for functionality, but nevertheless... And one more wish - please open api and folks will write all that they need themself)

Feels a bit clunky but does all I need it to do with one exception: it would be a 5 star review if I could play FLAC files from my mobile device over wi-fi. I don't use mp3 so this feature is wasted for me. I'm having to upload my collection to USB. Also gapless playback would be nice but so many products don't have it that we kind of just accept it. I notice people were asking for these 3 years ago...

Works okay for over-the-air radio and Internet radio. No support for Google Play, which is fine because it wasn't advertised to do so, but they advertise support for Spotify Premium, but it actually support it. The software on my receiver is also pretty sucky because the built-in UI doesn't let you control anything.

When are you gong to add speaker A/B control?? This should have been included from the start .. keep expecting to see it in an update, but sadly no. Add this needed feature for 5 stars.

Used to love this app, but it stopped working all of the sudden. Completely frozen. Only thing it does anymore is adjust the volume. Connectivity is a serious issue.

Connectivity with Android 6.0.1 on Mi Max does not work anymore since latest update. What has changed?

Yamaha really needs to update this app to bring it in line with others. You cannot even perform basic functions like search.

Sheesh - how hard can it be to put "add bookmark" to this app? Probably the least user friendly app I've ever had to use. Great idea, streaming works well, execution for ease of use zero.

Why doesn't the app support AIRPLAY for Android devices like it does for Apple?

Visually the app looks 4 android versions behind. But there is no alternative available.

Needs the A and B speaker functionality an the sleep timer function. Apart from that pretty happy

Using RN301, which is a fantastic bit of kit. The app however is pretty disappointing. Basic functionality is ok but when I navigate to the music on my server, it never reads the album meta data properly. Almost no album art is displayed. The worst problem is that it doesn't pick up track numbers, just lists the tracks alphabetically. Very annoying if you want to listen to an album in its entirety. Please fix. It could be so good!

For the love of god please add SP A/B buttons. I get that most everything else people want is a bigger task to implement but this should be trivial to add and 3 years later it's still not there. The app is not great, but does the job, but this is one primary missing piece. Please add this option Yamaha.

The setting to make songs all the same level doesn't work. All of a sudden you'll hardly hear an older recording. It's pretty annoying when we use it at a restaurant. Otherwise it's good.

Very basic interface, a major update is also needed for the np receivers. Very quiet considering it is 200 watt rms per channel. Even with the trim turned to 10+.

Will erase playlist randomly. Playlist created are empty and not possible to backup! Bookmarking radios? Would love to! How?

Just got my R-N301BL and got all setup. Love it. Pandora or play personal stored music directly from phone. This app is very basic but important part it works. Yes, initial setup for older people maybe more complex. Don't complain, put your glasses on or ask your younger relative to set it up. Why one star off? I wish this basic app had zone A and B functions so if I set up speakers in different room I could disable others via my phone.

It does the basics, but I can't search podcasts or net radio stations. To save net radio stations, an external website is required. I can't make new Pandora stations, as I can with the remote control.

Almost always fails to connect to network player. Extremely unreliable. If it connects it's great

looses connectivity...reliably. it would be great if you guys could figure out why that is happening until then I use a timer to shut the unit off periodically throughout the day for half an hour this way I don't have to go down and manually unplug it and then plug it back in it connects 40% of the time.

Need to add fast forward function for music on the network. must add option to control tone "Bass/Treble"

Absolute s*** used to work but now don't work at all what the f*** are they playing at because of up date.

Not very efficient app

Works OK. But improvements are badly needed. Poor layout and font sizes means only a few albums are displayed at a time. Album titles, track titles are badly truncated. Little or no caching means that it takes a long time fill in titles and album art during scrolling. Very bad in the Android version - for me, close to unusable. Please provide an update Yamaha. I have the Cdn500.

Any chance of adding speaker A and B option on the app? Handy for selecting outside speakers. Also letter navigation for song list. Thanks

This app needs a search option. Also, a fast forward /reverse when you are playing music.

Software is afterthought which adds little but frustration to an excellent cd networked product. E.g. no ability to search music on server. Lacks way to search and bookmark radio stations. No fast forward on tracks seems just too basic. Could be so much more. Needs the finesse of sonos frontend to be a serious contender. Used with cdn301. Add a volume switch too.

Lacking some basic functionality when used with a CDN500. Track play search bar. Search function for network storage files by name / file type. File info, what I'm I actually playing? MP3 / wav / flac / bit rate, depth etc. Needs playlist support built in, on the go book marking including the streaming radio... A bit half baked app but does make using the player I have a better experience.5 out of 10 I'd say. Not sure if anyone is going to bother updating the app as been a while, it is what it is.

I have a Yamaha RN-301. Worked as soon as I installed the application. No complaints.

This app is very nice and easy to use, but it doesn't see Plex media server which I use for streaming. My player is CD-N500, it finds and streams Plex ok, so the problem is with the app. Have to use original Yamaha remote for server streaming. Otherwise this app is fine.

Works perfectly for my N301 receiver. Only wishlist will be the ability to bookmark Netradio from this app instead on manually going into the vTuner website.

Great App, but the Pandora screen has a bug in need of a fix ( 'like' and 'not like' only works once at start up). Most annoying not able to manipulate via this app Pandora's algorithm.

The app is great, very responsive, would be even better if you could control speaker selection.
