Really well designed and functional extension of my Yamaha receiver. I actually find myself using it more than the remote. I like how it allows me to customise the lists for dsp and inputs. The only thing I would like to see in the future releases is ability to shift position of the listener when effects like halls are active. Otherwise the design and execution as well as stability are impeccable. Top marks.

Was great for 2 months​. Now it loses connection to receiver less than every two minutes. Basically can press one button and then it's fails. Just uninstalled it and I'll try a reinstall. If it gets better I'll update. I'm using in an access point that allows me to have my a1060, Chromecast, and stb wired. Stb and Chromecast work great with phone apps (Android casting, FiOS app) and a1060 used to work really well. Both stb and Chromecast are HDMI to a1060 then need av app to control volume/zones/inputs. I tried stairs ip on my router. Also tried to force ip in a1060 settings but then it won't connect at all.

Great app. About 3 updates ago the app stopped allowing to split the zones. I could play whatever in the theater room while my wife listen to music in the other room. Now It only allows the second zone to play off the main zone so I can't watch my show and play music in the other room. It has some places for adjustment when selecting music or fast forwarding, it could be easier. The app works great. I will give it 5 stars when the zone 2 issue is corrected.

It works pretty well. The part of the app that allows you to select songs isn't very well designed but it works well enough. One distinctly lacking feature that it should have is the ability to change which kind of surround decoder. Switching from Dolby or DTS, for example. This is not possible from the app. It would also be really nice if you could see what kind of input the AVR was receiving, for example whether it was receiving a signal for 5.1 or 7.1.

Edit:Taking away another star after a day of use for new version. This has always been my favorite thing about a networked receiver. The newest update seems to have messed up use with the older lines. I have an Aventage avr710 and have never had problems. 5 star all the way. Now I had two crashes in about 20 minutes. Also seems to freeze on loading and lagging on currently playing display.

When I can eventually get it loaded onto any of my devices e g. IPhone, Samsung S7 it will work reasonably well for a few weeks max and then without warning drops into Demo mode. Frustrated, angry and thoroughly sick of it and Yamaha

Without this app, I had to turn on my TV to do the simplest things. Now I can be anywhere in my house and control my receiver. One feature I would love to see (both in the app and on the receiver itself) is a true search in the net radio. Another is the ability to un-favorite an internet station using the app.

Works ok. Would benefit from a design overhaul. Would like the ability to program a playlist on the fly. Needs running time counter under the album art. A pitch control Would be a nice gesture as well. Most importantly, we need the ability to find the music easier than scrolling though a list. Needs work here! Would also like to be able to filter out the folders list with the server feature. It lists videos and pictures, even though I only have music on the server.

this app is pretty sweet works great I just don't get why there isn't more eq options in it... it would be nice to adjust each speaker on the fly or at the very least have access to a parametric EQ instead of just bass/trebal.... the zone 2 options are pretty sad as well when using Spotify always kicks out the main zone.... This is ridiculous. This thing worked flawlessly for the first year and now I cannot get it to connect. I switched over from wireless to a wired connection. I reset my app, router, and receiver, nothing, just won't connect to the receiver. I'm pissed, spent over $3000 on this receiver and now it might as well be a paper weight. With where I have it setup I rely solely on this app controlling 3 zones.

No longer connects to my RX-V477 has become a big pain. All I want is to be able to control with phone, now not an option as app can never find it. No help from Yamaha.

Horrible app. Constantly loses connection with my RX-V681 stripping it of advertised and intended functionality. Needs to be reinstalled to *maybe* connect again though more often than than that doesn't work either. Will not even connect by entering IP Address of receiver manually. Yamaha put some effort into fixing this garbage app so your customers get what they paid for and the products work as advertised. AWFUL.

Used to work well and now doesn't connect to the receiver at all. I only get the demo mode. I have emailed the developer but they have not responded or replied. Not worth downloading until this is fixed.

can't get the app to work with pixel, using Verizon data/hotspot - "no device found". entered ip address manually, but still won't connect. data/hotspot connects fine to tsr7810, and can use, e.g., net radio. too bad app doesn't work via Bluetooth. addendum: i have an old htc rezound (android 4.x) and linked via wifi to my pixel and downloaded the app, opened it on the rezound and it immediately identified and connected to the 7810. must say the app works great...way more convenient to select music from my usb! so a bit of hoop jumping - need 2 phones to run - but better than nothing. will look forward to app update for android 7.

Had been working fine fine for the last couple of years until the latest update, now it can't even find my receiver (RX-V777). Very disappointing.

I liked this app when it worked. But recently, its been glitching and saying "unable to play". In fact it no longer plays anying. I'm not going to buy another Yamaha receiver again. They screw over their customers by updating their old products... out of existence! (To force you to buy their newer one). Never again...

Hey Yamaha people, anybody reading all the comments about the flaws in the app? This is no hate speech, just paying customers who were tempted by the ideea of controlling their gadgets with their phones - AS YOU ADVERTISED! So acknowledge the issues, talk to your users, gather symptoms and FIX your software.

Seems a lot of people are having the same problem. It's been a great app for a few years now, but after one of the recent updates, it no longer finds the receiver. Guess i'll avoid yamaha for my next smart receiver.

The app doesn't recognize my Yamaha RX V481 av receiver and I can't use the app. Very poor support from Yamaha in India. Please don't buy the reciever in India, you will be duped of good amount and won't be able access many features.

For awhile now I have not been able to get the app to work with my RX-V677, on android or ios. It's connected to my network just fine, the app can see the receiver, but when I click on it the app just sits there and won't access anything. Maybe twice I've received an error: -3. Pretty disappointed that I can longer utilise what is a great setup to stream music, how about a fix?

Latest updates broke app. Was fine but now useless. All 2017 reviews are bad. Often cannot find my receiver, even when it's already on. App and widget constantly disconnect. App only partially loads. Uninstalled and reinstalled without success. PLEASE FIX!

I have only one minor complaint -- The iPod interface has no option to allow shuffle of the content. Connects well to my HTR-4066. It's been useful to change the input names. I don't use it all the time, but when I do it's good.

Hate that I can't play a specific folder with songs I already organized. Why the heck force me to pick out songs from a huge list to create a play list. I don't got time for that.. for God's sake just let me select a folder in my phone to play whats already in side..

Was an awesome app. Last two revs broken. Now, in addition to weak codec support (skipping huge swaths of playlists at a time), it drops connections, or switches to your phone for output. My phone isn't a Yamaha. The UI was always a little funky, but it worked really well. I'm really saddened now. I hope it's fixed one day. Just seems wrong in this day and age to need to cable devices and deal with hum and interference.

Okay I was like many of you out there, disappointed and frustrated after the app stopped working following the latest update.. After changing the connection on the receiver from Wi-Fi to Wired I have yet to lose connection, going on 5 days now. For those out there who cant connect try this method until a patch comes out.

First had trouble connecting to receiver even after entering IP address manual. Then it suddenly connected. Thought this app is great but then lost connection again. Tried everything but can't get it to connect. Very disappointed as this app is very handy and Yamaha receivers are great.

App worked fine, with no problems, on my RX-V677 for over a year, using a Samsung Galaxy S5, Huawei honor 6x, i Phone 7 Plus, and a 5k i Mac 27". Since this update I allowed to the app, on 05/17/2017, I no longer can get it to work on any of my Android devices, and all of my Apple devices give me an error code. Manually controlling the receiver works just fine, including internet radio, but now I can't stream my Apple music, which I Air Play through my receiver, as I work out through out my basement and first floor home gym. This was the reason why I bought this specific 7.2 channel receiver. I'm not happy at all and just bought a OEM remote off Amazon with prime shipping. Still I need to buy a Bluetooth receiver now otherwise I must use my lightning cable connected to my reciver to stream my Apple music which I rather not do if I'm off up stairs doing abs, working on the power tower, or on the bike with the bike trainer. If I'm downstairs on the Olympic weights, weight machine, or treadmill fine. Still an inconvenience not being able to pick up on a business call quickly if needed but really wish this update didn't mess the app all up.

What I really miss is the possibility to forward/rewind within a track. With audio books you sometimes have long tracks. Currently the only part to listen to a part again is to start from the beginning of a track. This is seriously reducing the usefulness of the system when listening to audio books from USB.

It's pretty handy but very unreliable. Also I like listening to net radio but man is it slow and convoluted to change stations. Please someone make this easier..

Used to work perfectly, now all i get is "unable to play" on my phone (S7) with absolutely no information telling me what is wrong nor where to go to find further information. Such a shame, used to be great! UPDATE: DNS settings missing from the YWA10 unit, back working now. Though could still use better manual to help setup correctly

Could see my old amp on the network but not actually access any of the setup menus - pretty pathetic waste of time. 'irplus' worked far better for control albeit via IR as opposed to wifi.

Dear Yamaha, I have an rx-a2020 and i'm unable to cast over dlna or airplay youtube from my android device. It's unable to play mp4 for some reason. Is their a way please offer your support for this issue since i've tried everything without success. Please find a way to guide through this and i will be more than happy to submit 5 stars to my receiver.

Cannot understand why a very good app can turn into such garbage and the developers don't seem to care.... Works fine on iOS and sucks huge on android...update....no longer working on IOS...Surprise!

Does not work with a NAS. Has trouble accessing media folders. Please fix. Yamaha tech support used to be quick and helpful. Now responses take weeks and don't fix the problem. What happened?

I'm about 3 months Into having the tsr5790 model just now finding the app. Ima have fun with my two ten's. My neighbors are gonna hate me.

I have had the 5810 Yamaha receiver and have used this app to control the amp. Now I have two of the same model amps and it controls both. I love the Yamaha receiver and apps. The only drawback is make it one app.

Worked great for a year but now the app frequently loses connection. Going to settings and clearing all the app data fixes the issue temporarily but the problem reoccurs within a few hours.

Broken error id -3 no longer finds my receiver. What have you done please fix it it used to be a fantastic app .

No notable "UI improvements", but they've increased the font size so much that only eight things fit in the list. Please make that configurable.

Don't use the remote control much. Solid functionality and app is reliable
