XFINITY TV X1 Remote for Android
Ways to use the voice control:
* Tap the mic and say what you are looking for, without typing. See results appear on your TV immediately.
Search for shows, movies, sports teams and channels using voice commands, e.g. "Find Big Bang Theory" or "When are the Sixers playing?"
* Browse XFINITY On Demand content by asking for a specific genre or network, e.g. "Show me all NBC On Demand" or "Do you have any funny movies?".
* Get recommendations for what to watch by asking for "More like this" or "What should I watch?" or "What's on tonight at 8?".
Suggestions for what to say can be found within Voice Help.
Other X1 Remote features:
* Press the XFINITY button to open the main menu on your TV.
* Use the D-pad to navigate the guide.
This is a life saver! It has nearly all the functions of the real thing! This DOES have "page up/down" buttons. You'll find it under the "playback" menu, to the left and right of the stop key (the spinning arrows). For those of you who didn't know!! All it needs now is volume keys and it'll be perfection. Still giving 5 stars!
Was a great app, but now with the latest update and my new Galaxy Note 7, I can no longer change channels by number, because the rest of the controls are gone. All I have now is the choice for guide, voice, and 4 arrows. No longer have number pad or DVR controls. Or basically no real control at all. Just one more reason I'm getting closer to cutting the cable altogether.
What's the point of a remote that won't power the tv on or off. Yes, once the tv has been manually turned on i can use this app to control my tv but why make an app that doesn't include a MAJOR feature, a power button..you know, on and off!? I'm deleting this app until it can power my tv on and off or I misplace my original remote.
I love that you can use your remote right away of it's far by using your phone! I always have it with me and I can conveniently use it! Although when I started using this app there is the bar that comes up when you open up the channels. It's always there now, not just for a few seconds and blocking a quarter of the bottom of the TV. Is there something you can do to fix this?
I lose the remote on occasion and just want to change the dang channel while I look for it. This remote does everything I need and more. I can't understand what everyone is complaining about. The Remind feature, the Guide... It's all on there. It allows you to do everything you CANT do when you misplace your remote.
The Xfinity X1 remote is superb, but there is one slight flaw. There is no power button to turn on your TV and box. One still needs the Comcast remote control to turn the equipment on and then it becomes possible to utilize your phone for other operations. If you have your Comcast Xfinity remote, then there's no need to use your phone. The designers of this application should have thought that one through.
What more can you ask for? The app does what it says it's going to do, it doesn't do anything that you didn't ask it to do, and there's nothing surprising or irritating - at least so far. There's also nothing really spectacular about it - it could be set up a little more friendly to user, and well I guess, in my opinion, to receive 5 stars it would have to do something outstanding and, while you can control your box with this app, there's nothing special about it. I'd rather use the real remote.
X1 remote latest update MIC is broken. Either immediately says Canceled or Initializing. At least the previous versions made voice searches quick and easy for those of us who adopted the X1 system early and didn't get a voice remote! Now Comcast/Xfinity forces us to go to their stores to do our own customer service w/o charging us for exchanges on broken equipment or upgrades.
It works fine when it's working. Will often get "error sending last request" message if I try to do anything so it's completely useless from time to time, quite often lately, until for whatever reason it starts to work again.
Haven't been able to use the app, for weeks now, every time I open it I get the message, "we are experiencing technical difficulties now, please try again later" pressing the back button on my phone closes the app out.
1 huge thing I think that needs work is there is no guide button. Yet you can say guide into the voice and it will open the guide. But after that there is no page up or page down buttons, and that is a major inconvience
I used to use this, but for some reason the app no longer recognizes my xfinity credentials
Since the last update, it won't even recognize my X1 cable boxes...literally useless app. Uninstall. Don't waste your time.
I don't know what other people have a problem with. I have been using this for a while now and it is perfect. It does have a guide option. Make sure your issue isn't user related before you blast it.
I've used this app one day and I'm happy as a pig in S#$%! The app has all that the actual remote has. Some of you rating this app aren't happy,I can only assume you have an older version than I do. Only thing I can't do with it is record away from home, but I have a second app that takes care of that. Also, some of you complained about the guide feature,so first thing I checked was that feature, and again,I can't figure out what you're complaint is about, works fine, can move up and down with no problem.
As an retired computer programmer it totally baffles me how any company could release software that is so incomplete. This app is so limited as to be almost worthless. All it basically does is change channels. As an example, I can only scroll up or down the guide one channel at a time, you can't page. At least if there's more that this app can do it's not evident. There's NO help. How about a concise explanation of ALL the voice commands this system is capable of understanding? I've also loaded this app on my iPhone. It's not much better. EDIT 1/8/16. There is another app simply called "xFinity TV remote". It works fine with my X1 receiver. This app, "xFinity TV X1 remote" does not!
Major delay in button selection. Please fix. Will press button && either won't function or 30 sec delay
This app would get 5 stars but its missing two key things that is found on all remotes. Up and down buttons for the Volume as well as the channels. Its very simple but a must have.
I CANNOT understand when designing this remote the reminder feature was deleted. You can only record but can't set a reminder for a show. That makes NO sense!!!
Works great. App also works when the actual remote fails to work which happened to me. My x1 box is older and does not support the new remote but the app does. Good job
Worked for all of 5 minutes.. Hmmm, I don't know.. I just downloaded the app from the play store, the remote worked great for a total of about 5 minutes on both mine (galaxy s6 edge) and mom's phone (galaxy s5) on two different tvs until we both started getting the error "there was an error sending the last command please try again.. Now we're back to a big "go figure" expression . No changes were made, it just stopped working and gave error messages, and both were working, changing channels, recording, pause, play, etc.. that was... for about 5 minutes or so. Tried closing the app, rebooting, uninstall and reinstall and nada...
The addition of the last button is nice but it's not really something I even use. I'd really like to see the addition of a guide button. Yes you can access it via the xfinity button but the select guide menu accessible only by pressing guide twice cannot be reached. This menu let's you filter to kids, HD only, movies, etc. The page up/down button would also be very useful.
Major invasion of privacy
This is by far the worse app I have downloaded as a remote. Hands down disgraceful for a big company to put out such trash
I like it much better than peel. I can't seem find it in widget form. If there isn't one it would be great if there was
How can this be called a remote when it has no on/off control, and no volume or channel control buttons? Wouldn't those be the bare minimum controls needed to call it a "remote control"? I'd call it a "tool" maybe, since it was apparently designed to perform selected tasks, but not to function like a remote. Yes, it's a real tool. The Peel Smart Remote is what I'll be using instead.
A little slow to respond when voice searching and playing after fast forwarding or rewinding. Other then that works great!
These people don't care about this app no updates u suck.... Volume people on and off people make us customers that pay all this money for the x dumb one experience happy with 3 simple buttons
My living room remote completely went out. Its late and the xfinity store is not open, so I downloaded this app and wah lah I'm back to watching TV! And it was very easy to set up!
Best feature is leaving messages on his tv an watching him freak out about it. Recommend it to everybody
Was 4, now 5 stars. Thank you for adding the "last" button. Was the biggest downfall of the app, but not anymore
It's cool, just wish it had the volume up and down buttons (and chanel up and down would be nice too.)everything else is good.
It's funny how companies upload apps that don't work at all. Ur the best guys! Keep up the superb work
This thing really needs a power off button. All these features on the remote is ok but what about when u want to call it a night? A power off button is really needed
Has never worked for me (running Android Marshmallow). Always says "retry" when I try to open it. Uninstalling this POS app
The concept of the app is great but the implementation is not well. First, the app should include a widget. Next, you can't bring up the guide, the Tv remote app can but then what's the point of this app. And it should have now playing feature. Hope this helps.
This app is ALWAYS. "experiencing an error"! Does not work at all!! A waste of space is what this is!!!
When I can't find my remote this is great and the voice e work on my second TV too!
I've been trying to open this for 2 weeks, and every time it just says sorry we're experiencing technical difficulties...... HTC One m9

Peel is about the best app yet. Only thing this app is good for is using your phones keypad to type. No power, no volume control. You'll still need your three plus remotes to to enjoy a decent audio/video experience. Way to go Comcast a whole lotta money for a whole lotta nothing. Where are you Google fiber?
