Privacy Inspector is the only app that can fully lookout for apps that steal your private information and may be harmful. It is unlike any other app in that it can actually scan through other apps code to find privacy issues. No other app can do this on Android! This is what sets Privacy Inspector apart from other apps that claim protection.
After scanning for potential violations, Privacy Inspector will give you details about issues within your app(s). Have you ever felt uncomfortable downloading an app that needs a permission it shouldn’t have? Now find out what is inside the app and more.
Get the security you need that other apps like Anti-Virus Pro, Lookout Mobile Security, McAfee WaveSecure can’t find.
--------Uses Permissions---------
(android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
So PI can save data to the sdcard.
(android.permission.INTERNET)
So PI can access the internet for facebook posts, twitter tweets, emails, and send database info.
Don't use "awesome" to describe a security level. Works ok but a bit over zealous.
This even marks lookout anti virus as Bad even though its made by the same company...this ain't worth the download
This app is dangerous. It doesn't consider context and as a result it misinforms users with scary imagery. It is also very unstable.
Try AlYac. Faster easier, makes things simpler to decide .To uninstall or just keep an eye.
If I uninstalled all of the bad apps, I wouldnt have anything cool because most of my apps have adware.
I would try the full version (Privacy Blocker), but the new, bullshit 15-minute market refund policy will not be enough to evaluate properly.
This app misleads a person to think certain app is bad just because it request those permissions.
I like it so far, but it freezes too frequently.
Force closes without ever scanning anything. Completely useless.
SUCKS!!!!!!! Continues to Force Close, don't know weather to waste my money for the other app! Going to uninstall this one until fixed!!!!
Can not scan private apps? What crap.
Why acess to my photos and files ? Is it really a app which protects privacy ???
Id think performance could be improved. everyone shouldn't have to scan the same app twice. Calculate hash, compare to centralized database
Crashes outright with no fc message on some apps like go launcher ex and others
But the function buttons are so small that you easily hit the wrong one
Why Privacy inspector not showing any permissions when I scan it knowing that it has full internet access and modify sd card
Please update this app We need app Like this in the place store to help find the bad apps.
Works perfectly on my DX. It's good to see what apps are doing, but getting ads in exchange for a free app isn't inherently bad.
Tries to scan some apps and force closes with no error msg. Some apps just won't scan.
A real good idea, just needs polishing.
I use cyangenmod 7.1, a ROM that allows you to block an app's individual permissions. The ones displayed by the app NEVER match the OS. Pure bunk!!
Great app! Crashes a fair amount when scanning larger apps but probably phone limitation - MB300 2.1u1
It can't scan facebook, it shuts down the app after a min of trying, yet I have no issues with other apps. Has facebook added a code in to stop such apps discovering it's secrets?
Works as promised. I've cleared house of "Bad" apps from my Droid. Very stylish GUI.
Would be a really good app if it didn't force close pretty much every time
This app sucks! Cost 2 bucks. Doesn't fix anything fails every time!!!!
How in the world does Pandora get a good rating?!?
Haven't had much time with it but so far so good
Just force closes everytime.
Seems really good, works well on HTC desire
Scanned my app list and says my Avast antivirus is bad news, along with ALL other apps. Its a no-fix app. Just scans and then for a possible fix, you have to buy the paid version. Bait and switch!! Im uninstalling. Waste of time.
I really like what this app does. Although some apps do take a while to scan. Forces closes as well.
... but some issues: "Fingerprints Failed!" error, and the blanket labelling of apps as "overall: Bad" might mean a lot of apps will suffer a bad rep even if they legitimately need to ID your device (e.g. Titanium Backup shouldn't be trusted according to this). Cancelling a scan (e.g. Google Maps) seems to hang the app. Overall: Good Start but Needs Work!
sure how well it works..Doesn't find permissions the apps actually asks for during installation (like phone id), but does find permissions they didn't ask for (like phone id).. I would love the app if it did find hidden permissions, but I'm skeptical since it doesn't find some of the open permissions.. 3 stars since I don't know if its good or bad!
It protects the privacy of the users from unwanted permissions.. But app is unable 2 fix problems.. It requires paid version to fix d problems
Don't waste your time or money on this. It does not work!
Nice GUI, otherwise it is useless single-threaded java decompiler. Will not detect most privacy issues and easy to get around. False sense of privacy.
I really do hope this app is accurate.... I couldn't believe all the apps...that I had to remove from my device.....due to privacy invasion.....If apps doesn't pass your test...first and foremost....then they won't be added ...Thanks guys....
Being new to a smartphone... its great that this app helps uncover things I wouldn't know.

Does what it says - shows permissions for selected apps. Up to user to figure out if app is bad. No batch scan. No prob with lock ups. Evo 4g
