About Aircraft Weather Radar
Aircraft Weather Radar provides a constantly updating picture of the rainfall in front of your aircraft in flight, using a live link to rainfall radar systems and your device's GPS.
Switch between 50nm, 100nm and 200nm ranges, as well as the full UK and Ireland picture.
Aircraft Weather Radar is for light aircraft and microlights which would benefit from a Weather Avoidance Radar System, but have not got round to fitting one!
Aircraft Weather Radar also provides a picture of the currently available Satellite visible and IR cloud data, as well as current lightning picture and overlays.
Aircraft Weather Radar works with Android phones and tablets.
NOTE:
- Only for use in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
- Device must have a GPS and a phone data connection in flight.
There is a delay between the rainfall radar data capture and its availability, due to processing and quality control. This delay is constantly displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen and is normally between 15 and 30mins. An animation function uses data from the past 3 hours to enable the pilot to compensate for the delay.
Aircraft Weather Radar was developed by a British Microlight Aircraft Association member and test flown using a P&M GT450 flexwing microlight.

Just so nice to be able to have a quick check on the rainfall situation! Please don't make it any more complicated than it is, or bloat it with anything else. My only complaint is the actual weather in the UK, because when it's very cloudy I can't see the UK outline. A faint outline that is visible over the clouds would help a lot. Thanks!

Just so nice to be able to have a quick check on the rainfall situation! A landscape view would be nice to have. Better visible Sat image sequences would be good too, like they are with the infra red images. Please don't make it any more complicated than it is, or bloat it with anything else. An option to use GPS detected heading as opposed to the compass heading would be useful too

I use this app many times throughout the day. It's my most essential app! A good improvement would be if it drew a faint outline of the UK for when it's very cloudy. Alternatively, a small marker to show my exact position would be good. Other than that, thanks for creating this very useful app!
