It's always hard to write in a screen, but that's because keys are always impossibly small for human fingers.
Enter TipType, the keyboard for cellphones and tablets where typing is easier and faster because keys are huge.
Each key can produce up to 5 characters, depending on the movement of the finger on top of it. Sliding --starting from anywhere in the key-- up, down, left, right or pressing generates a different character. There are just 9 big writing keys.
To generate a space, just press on any of the 9 writing keys, thus avoiding the long trip of your finger to the spacebar. Recommended: press the key where you just ended your word to get a space.
You'll soon get used to the letter distribution: it is esentially the same as in your traditional QWERTY keyboard.
The three keys on the far right column are Function Keys. They also work by sliding or pressing.
The DEL key deletes when pressing, but moves the cursor (like the arrows in a computer keyboard) when sliding in each direction.
The Alternate Keyboards key is used to write characters that are not in the main keyboard. Slide left (towards "#1") for numbers and additional symbols, upwards ("Aa") for a capitalized initial, right ("áã") for international characters, downwards ("aa") to go back to the small letter keyboard and press ("AA") to turn on CAPS.
The Enter key produces Enter when pressing. When sliding downards you get Help and Options. An important Option is "Sensitivity to Slides". Devices differ in their sensitivity. If your device sometimes recognizes a slide as a tap, increase sensitivity. If it sometimes recognize a tap as a slide, reduce sensitivity.

One steep learning curve with this. I tried using it for a few days but wasn't adapting well. I went with Minuum keyboard instead.

n' the crazy thing is that my friends couldn't type a single word on my phone. Many of them tried to learn and only a few got it right. I think google keyboards and other similar ones are too old school in front of this TIP TYPE KEYBOARDS Thank you for this awesome innovation, i just loved it & am sure that sooner or later all Indians are gonna love this app .

Great keyboard! The only thing i'd like to see changed for the international version: the ñ breaks the asthetics and is never used in most languages. Maybe a 0 would be better, then you could integrate the other 9 numbers on longpress? Or even better, as the south-keys? And the arrows are great too!!

Está muy bueno. Hace que, aquellas pantallas pequeñas, sean más fáciles de manejar a la hora de escribir. A veces queda trabado en Mayúscula cuando se comienza una conversación y, pase a minúscula cuando borro lo escrito y tengo que volver a comenzar. Así también, a veces no pone la primera letra en May luego de un "." Más allá de todo, me parece bárbara.

Fue mi error, no es que hay que deslizar para escribir la palabra, hay que deslizar para escribir cada letra. Buen teclado pero es lento el metodo para escribir para mi gusto comparado con Swype. Cosas que podrian mejorar 1) Fundamental el diseño 2) opcion para cambiar la ubicación de las letras, ejemplo cambiar entre formato qwerty y t9 ( como las letras en los teclados antiguos, que en el primer cuadro este abcd en el sig efgh y asi sucesivamente..5 estrellas igual x ofrecer un nuevo método de escritura

Es muy bueno. lo estoy usando hace una semana. Le faltaria las opciones de palabras para ser una opcion al teclado convencional. Al no tenerlas, es mas lento ya que hay que tipear todo. Pueden agregarlo? Tambien podria ser mas rapido si le dan una opcion de disposicion de las letras idem al teclado de celular convencional que muchos tenemos internalizado. Los felicito por el trabajo.

Hola, lo instale pero cuando quiero escribir no veo as letras. Lo tengo habilitado y como metodo de escritura por defecto, pero nada...Que puede pasar? Gracias Ahora si, deslizando el dedo, funciona

Le doy 3 estrellas x el tamaño de la letra que es grande pero no es practico para usar con un dedo ,y para usar dos dedos que es lo mas rapido me quedo con cualquier teclado hago rotar el teclado y las letras son todas grandes ,me encantaria usen el mismo tamańo de letras con el mismo teclado el 3x4 convencional y seria una luz

A whole different way to type, really easy.

The basic concept of this keyboard is so good that I really want to like it, but it's just not usable right now. I think that what would make it amazing is a simple option to replace characters (including an option for dead keys, like "´", so "a"+"´"="á" -- useful for languages with too many special characters, like Portuguese). Also, I don't know if I will ever use å, ą, ć, ğ, ę, ł, ź, ø, ń, ś, ş, and ż (probably not), but I definitely need "ô", that is unavailable. Also, the arbitrary disposition of the characters in the áã keyboard bugs me. That implementation would also erase the need for separate apps for different languages. Bonus: what about swiping forth-and-back (hook) for capital letters? That'd be very handy!
