Wuvo Spot for Android
useless app Can't login...always network problem????? what happened to my account??
The app is consuming battery like mad, even when I turn the phone screen off. Only way to stop it is to force stop the app, but then it takes it several minutes to find a spot that the phone is right on top of. Plus, it complains loudly whenever I turn Bluetooth off, even if I don't want the app to track my spots right now. Oh, and it keeps turning my GPS on; there's no way to tell the app that I don't want that, I just want to locate my spots in my house.
Poor physical design meant the battery cover fell off less than two days after receiving mine. Battery and cover gone, leaving a useless keyring ornament. Lanyard is way too small but the packaging was nice...
I just want to be warned when my phone and keys are separated, I'd like to turn off GPS logging. Reduce battery drain and ill try it again.
Please allow the app to run in the background even after closing it from recent apps. Double clicking the spot to ring/find your phone is a little more responsive now and I am expecting a louder longer ring tone. App is still causing battery drain.
I don't know about the potential value of this device but the customer service in my case is below 1 star. I paid 100$ for 10 Wuvo units that turned out to be 10 pieces of plastic as the app could not recognize a single 1 of them. I turned to Wuvo for help in their website... that was 2 month ago. turned again... that was a month ago... still waiting... For now i can tell you that the overall value of this thing is crap.
App barely connects to the device but is THE biggest battery drain. Unable to change its usage profile if I decide it's better used in a different way. Tracker doesn't make phone ring. Very difficult to pair to a device. Overall, very poor and the fact it is FREE for some people is not an excuse for features not working correctly. It isn't worth paying for if it doesn't work as advertised. Also, there are an awful lot of fake reviews which are obvious and need reporting to Google.
The key chain, which you need to use to attach the tracker to most things, does not come attached. Its impossible to attach it because the space on the tracker is too small for it. The tracker is so cheaply made that after three attempt at attaching the Keychain the top of the device popped off and the plastic inside broke. I had the tracker for 5 min and its already useless. If they had spent any money on manufacturering it might work but these trackers are too cheap to use. Absolutely worthless.
Disappointing. Tells me the tracker "is right under my nose" when in fact it is 40 feet away at the other end of the house and at the edge of its detection range. If I take another step, it loses the signal, which is expected. Take a step back, wait a bit, and it's "right under my nose" again. The expanding rings on the finder screen would appear to be an indicator of how close you are to the device, but apparently mean nothing. The device beeps when I'm trying to find it, which is useful if you're in a quiet environment. I doubt it would help me find anything I left behind in a restaurant, etc. as there is no indication of how close or far I am from the tracker. I've bought three or four of these things from various companies and have yet to find one that really works well. Update... Huge battery drain. No updates for three months. Uninstalled.
It definitely works, but not best for pets honestly. If the pet gets more then 100 feet then it's useless unless you get within 100 feet of them. So if they've been gone a while, there's little chance this will help you find them until you get close. Definitely great for things like keys, your wallet, your kid :-D. So I wouldn't suggest using it for your pet, but definitely for your kid. Biggest complaint, the serial number should not be on by a sticker. I pulled it off with the plastic seal :-(.
My main criticism so far is the fact that whenever I try to find my item the app tells me its "right under my nose" whereas it's probably 10m away, which gives me a "right under my nose" area of almost 80 square metres, which in turn makes that rather pointless! Also, if you double-click the spot it only alerts on the phone every other time you do it. Double-click again and nothing. Double-click again and alert. But the alert isn't loud enough. It should set the volume to full and play a loud alert until you switch it off, like it does when you do a "find my device" from Android device manager. So the two major functions of both the spot and the app are a bit of a fail at the moment. Definite room for improvement. ** UPDATE ** Also the "out of range" alert just doesn't work, either ring or push message. It's a version 1 that smacks of being a version1! And yes, Google login would be nice, but leave that on your roadmap until you've got the core functionality working reliably and consistently.
Connects to Wuvo tracker when ever it feels like it and will mostly be listed as out of range even if they sitting next to each other. Manage to force a connect by removing battery from tracker and replacing. Support email couldn't help. Basically would say product not ready for market yet.
It a joke. Cant connect at all every time need to on location to high that drian up battery life.
SERIOUSLY!!!! Can't believe some of guys are complaining about something you got for free??? I'm not sure how much you guys paid for it, but I just had to pay shipping to get mine, which is an amazing deal considering similar products are selling it for at least $20++. Sure the app may not be perfect, but come on guys they a new startup, give them a break, I'm sure they will keep improving the app! Ignore the naysayers and keep up the good work Wuvo, great fan!
Pathetic indicator ALWAYS shows the wuvo is right "under your nose!" LIES!
Glad the network issue is resolved, finally got my Spot paired and searching for my keys. Question is can I pair this on multiple phones at the same time???
Have it on my car keys. Let's hope your gadget will help prevent me from losing them again.
Need to polish up on some areas, and I agree on adding the Google login as well, but other then that, great product.
Just got it in my mail today, works well but please add Google login for us!!!
No matter how many times I on or off the phone or Bluetooth, the app keeps showing offline. I can't resync again. There is no beep despite pressing many times. Also the chain is extremely difficult to loop on. Wasted my money.
Key chain link is very fiddly to loop on to the device. Got set up ok but then it showed as offline no matter what I tried. Now its stuck in 'lost' mode and despite the app telling me where it is, I cannot do anything to 'reunite' the wuvo. Also there doesn't appear to be an edit button so I can unlink and attach it to something else. Hopefully this all gets sorted soon as it could be a good item to have but at the moment it needs work. Also, emails do not get answered. Come on guys, sort this out otherwise you will end up as a sinking ship.
I tried using it for week or so, then i thrown it into a bin. It has a connection issues, it doesn't connect back to phone when Wuvo spot is back in BT range, if you have to open it like 5 times a day to reset the Wuvo spot, you will give up very easily. If you have to use a coin many times a day to get the battery out an back in, the cover gets damaged too easily, the little strap for keychain was too difficult to put on Wuvo spot, i nearly damaged it. So after all this, i thrown it into a bin, and my life become much easier.
Otherwise okay. I'll be looking for something else that supports that.
I'm having the same "network problem" as everyone else, which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to trying out your product. I hope you guys can fix the issue soon.
no option to disable location tracking? it keeps finding location with gps killing batteries..
Can't sign up
It works!
App barely connects to the device but is THE biggest battery drain. Uninstalling and will use my TrackR instead.
First, the keychain loop is almost impossible to place. Just horrible. Pressing the unit didn't generate pairing, had to take the cover out, press the battery to pair but the cover was hard to put back. The app- you need to make it possible to undo lost. Overall, it feels like this was rushed out
App 'fessed up to using 5% battery but I suspect it was a lot more. Way more than the value it adds. Uninstalled.
Love the spot, love the app, but MAJOR battery drain means I can't use it. Shame.
Make it able to unpair

If you are expecting to be able to just open the app and find your keys you are gonna be disappointed like me. apparently you have to just keep the app open all the time (with it checking your location and using bluetooth constantly, draining battery) so if you close the app and then expect to be able to find your keys without having resynced, it seems like you are up a creek. also I paid 7.95 shipping and now they are giving them away for a dollar which is kind of annoying. I'll keep it and hope it gets better but I wouldn't recommend in its current state.
Firstly, I'm upset to be paying USD9.95 for shipping when it is shipping from Singapore where I'm staying in. Secondly, I'm even more annoyed that wuvo is now giving it out plus shipping for only a dollar. Lastly, the device is not practical if my phone needs to be 24/7 connected to the device via Bluetooth and the app. Whenever my phone Bluetooth is off or the app is closed, the device loses connection and to reconnect immediately is impossible. You have to go through the whole process of syncing again.
Arrived in the UK very quickly. Set-up was a doddle and so far it has been functioning as expected. I have had a few force closes with the app but no major problems (Nexus 6, running Marshmallow). Looking forward to seeing how things progress.
I love this product/app very useful and runs very smooth. I had a few problems with my spot at the start but contacted the Wuvo team and they replied quickly and helped me fix the problem. Keep up the good work
Keeps the GPS on constantly and is now the #1 power user on my phone. I think I will turn of the leash and see how it does with updating the location occasionally when I am in BT range.
I would like to have an option to select my own ringtone, also wearables support would be welcomed.

Doesn't work... Can't log in to the app as it just keeps saying "Network error" on both my Wi-Fi connection and data.
