Want to prove to your insurer how safely you drive? You can with Drive Smart. We’ll install a little, mobile-sized “telematics” gadget in your car, and measure things like your speed and braking. Then we can see if you’re a safe driver and reward you for it.
Our handy Drive Smart App lets you see how we’ll rate your driving before you take out a policy, so there are no nasty surprises!
How it Works:
Drive Smart is a state-of-the-art Telematics Smartphone App, allowing drivers to be rated on how they drive and rewarding safer driving.
Using a complex algorithm, Drive Smart monitors and rates a number of key areas of your driving including.
- Speed
- Congestion
- Night Time Driving (11pm – 5am)
- Familiarity with the roads you use
- Braking
- The Length of your trips
You can use Drive Smart as a "Try Before You Buy" or if you’ve opted to use a Smartphone for a mid-term policy amendment. Drive Smart on Android comes complete with Auto Start and Auto Stop, so you don’t even need to use the App, just makes sure your phone is switched on and situated in a safe, firm location within the car and when we’ve scored your data, we’ll send you a push notification to let you know your feedback’s available to view.
Once you've tried it out and driven 200 miles, we will give you a score. If you have good feedback you can visit www.drivesmartinsurance.co.uk to see how much you could save on your premium. Drive Smart is also available through the price comparison sites Tiger, Q4, Totally Money & shortly Confused.com too. DriveSmart is a great tool for helping you save money and improving your driving style. Our brilliant little app can also detect if you've had an accident/incident and its helpful little incident report function allows you to quickly and easily notify us of your accident and even send us pictures of what’s happened along with your exact location.

Doesn't work, won't let register to policy and data tht it records is wrong. If the insurance company goes on the data then alot of people gonna change insurance companies and put them outa business this app is a total waste of time should be deleted!!.

I sincerely hope that the data recorded doesn't get used for determining insurance costs...it is hopeless! The lack of downloads and poor feedback score is a indicator of just how bad this app is!

My insurance depends on this app but it always crashes, never records properly and glitches out. It also turns my phone into a glitchy mess and turns it into a toaster I'm surprised it hasn't set alight yet. Honestly this app is just crap and you should just spend the money and get a black box fitted in ur car.

As soon as I press record journey it records for a minute then says drivesmart has stopped working so doesn't accurately record my journeys plus it says I have only done 114 miles when last week it said 170 miles?!

Tried multiple times to log in and with multiple calls to drive smart I finally managed it. As for how it works when driving it's okay except for when I stopped for fuel the app stopped thinking it was the end of my journey. It started up again as I started driving but about a minute in. And in the description said 'don't use your phone whilst driving'!! They could work on this app a lot but it's okay for a few weeks fix before swapping insurance companies. I wouldn't use it long term.

Absolutely awful. Starts a journey while I'm on the sofa but doesn't record journeys 15 miles long. Doesn't stop automatically when it's on automatic, just records the stop as idling. Useless.

App installs ok but won't allow insurance details to be linked as requested. Another phone call to drive smart results in being told that they are working on it and to try later! Very poor

I would give it no star it keep saying you were driving in non UK roads. Your speed is 5 mph. 95 % of your driving is on heavy traffic.
