About Material Palette

You may freely choose any color from color picker, load colors from your favourite images, by either choosing any color or generating main colors palette using android Palette library. You can also choose to capture image from inside this app and use real life inspiration for your new app colors. Access palettes saved on Drive to load colors from any saved colors.xml files into the editor.

In addition, you will be able to send your colors.xml file using sharing functionality, to your email address, to your dropbox, to any other cloud available on your device. You can also share your palette preview with your fellow developers, contractors or friends to ask their opinion.

We will create palettes on device or Google Drive using the explicit name of your choice for each palette, so you can reuse them later, and yet the file inside each folder on Drive will remain colors.xml, with proper standard format so you can just copy/paste it to your android studio project and have your favourite colors available to you. Just as simple as that.

This app is really helpful. I used to create color palette for my app.

It would be great if I could actually use the material colors rather than just pick for any possible color.

Well thought of idea. Really handy, no more experimenting with different primary and accent colors or using an online material color picker to see how the theme would look. The two best features, at least for me include, the color picker coupled with preview (I was unable to find an online tool that allows us to specify custom color and look at preview) and generating colors from an image. To top that, ui is clean and pleasant ux. So far no bugs found. Keep up with the amazing work!

I really like this app. I think it'll be quite useful for Android Developers who want to build a Material Design color palette from an image or a logo. I have some feedback for the developer. I was confused at first because when I selected an image, I couldn't see it. So, I wasn't sure what to do next. Afterwards, I realized it was because I was choosing really tiny icons. It was clear what to do when I selected real images. One usability feature I recommend is to make it more obvious to click the "checkbox" button to apply the color palette from this screen to the main screen when I click the Up button or back button from the "Color Chooser" screen. I forgot to click the button and lost my work a couple of times. Finally, I tested on Android N beta, so this might not be a real issue, but I noticed the app crashed when I tried to capture an image using the Capture Image button. After a little trial and error, I became familiar with the app, and found it was was fun to create Material Design color palettes. I already have a bunch of them, and now wish I could move them around within the Saved Palettes screen so I could compare them side-by-side. Jim
