American States and Capitals helps kids, parents, and students of all ages learn about the states of the United States with a simple touch! Using an intuitive, colorful, map-based design, learners master the key facts and stats of each state by simply touching it. This app makes it fun and easy to learn the state capitals, nicknames, official birds and flowers, and more. Learners can choose between learning about the states, viewing a zoomable map, or taking a quiz to test their knowledge. In all cases, instruction is provided in a fun, easy to use, color-rich visual format utilizing an intuitive touch interface. Just touch a state to learn more about it, pinch and zoom the map to see more details, or touch an answer to move through the quiz. The app also comes with integrated access to the americanstatesandcapitals.com companion website which is regularly updated with new information, fun facts, and other posts about each state in the United States!

Geography: The application supports the development of strong geography skills through its map-based interface and state graphics. Learners select a state by touching it on a map of the United States. This trains and reinforces the state’s location within the United States for the learner.
Capitals: Each state capital is clearly listed along side the state’s largest city.
Key Facts: Facts about the state’s size, major industries, and other data is presented to the learner.
Interactive Quiz: A randomized quiz is provided to help in knowledge acquisition and retention. The quiz uses a dynamic question engine to randomize the order and frequency of questions. Learners are never presented with the same quiz twice which aids in testing how well the learner has retained the information.
