About Codex Philosophicus
Ever wanted to read the great philosophers but didn't know where to begin or were intimidated by the specialist language?
Don't be. Codex Philosophicus brings you fifteen of the most accessible, short works (albeit many the length of a short book!) from the most prominent figures of Western philosophy, as well as an easy to read glossary for the words you are still not quite sure of.
Set in chronological order, from ancient Greece to the twentieth century, each piece has been chosen for its accessibility and brevity, as well as its importance within the context of the author's larger body of work. By following closely to these criteria, it is our hope that we have created a collection that will inspire an interest, if not a passion, for philosophy in many of those who have previously been put off - which is not to say that it will not be of use to the philosophical scholar also.
