Kural Medicine

Thirukkural is a 2000 year old Tamil literature which explains the rules for leading a peaceful life.
It has 133 chapters with 10 couplets in each chapter making a total of 1330 couplets. Each couplet consists of two lines with four and three words respectively in the first and second line.

These are arranged into 3 main sections i.e. Aram - righteousness, Porul - wealth and Inbam or Kamam - pleasure or love. They have 380, 700 and 250 verses respectively and covers the entire gamut of life including moral, ethics, public administration, family life etc.
We have taken just 10 couplets from the chapter called 'Medicine'. This is very relevant to today's situation where people are going on medical tourism in search of cheaper treatment and sourcing of replacement organs.
By following the advice given in Kural, one can lead a healthy life without any disease. Prevention is better than cure and one can avoid disease by following Kural.
