This app is perfect for fixing a headphone jack that the Android O/S sees as flacky/where the O/S won't detect the headphones. Works on Android 7. Comes with a widget that's very convenient to quickly force the audio to be routed to the headphones. Thx! Yet, sometimes it's impossible to switch to forcing headphones ON: either the setting will cycle only between DETECT and OFF, or the ON will jump back to DETECT after a few seconds. On better disable the headphones detection, the widget only switch between ON and OFF, and all's fine.

Doesn't seem to work on RemixOS (Android 6) on MiniPC. HDMI-audio just won't work on this OS. The app allows changes, has a widget, but none of the features actually does what it needs to do in this setup. Like an empty shell case. Maybe the app works better on other devices and original Android. Otherwise appears to be a decent app, maybe even worth money for the solution.

I'm glad I came across this app. I have had my Sony Xperia Z for 3yrs now and the phone is great with no issues, however just recently I couldn't hear anyone on a call and no one could hear me. Since downloading this app I can select what speakers to use. I wish the earpiece and speaker could be selected together to save time but I'll take what I can get for now. Thanks guys ????????

Almost works for me, routes audio where and when I need it..... One issue, with Soundabout enabled incoming calls are held behind the lock screen. Have to unlock, swipe down notifications and hit answer. Would appreciate a bit of advice from Dev on this. Cheers other than that it's great and should be built into native settings.

Omg so my headphone jack on my android suddenly stopped working i think maybe the file for it is corrupted after reading up on the issue it seemed that lint was the problem I tried nothing then out of the corner of my eye I saw a forum saying this app helped them I was a little skeptical at first not going to lie but I installed this app and bam! Sound was coming out I couldn't belive and couldn't have been more easier with the widgets a big thank you from me!

At first I installed,I changed the media to earpiece and to my surprise,it worked really well. After some days,I wanted to listen to songs and I cannot hear through earphones. I chose different selection like 'let the app decide' and it still wouldn't work. I uninstall the app and reinstall it again. It still wouldn't work. I wonder if I didn't buy the pro version,would it effect anything? Help me!!!

IT works fine when listening to music but still cannot get the sound when I want to speak over the phone. Therefore I m not buying the pro version unless there s a solution for that. UPDATE: can someone help with the fact that I can't use my headphones for speaking but only for listening to music? I'm using an Xperia Z5.

I guess developer just abandoned this app no support for Oreo since 6 months. Every 2 months I am reducing a star from it from my different account let it not be in playstore coz soon enough Oreo will be mainstream and this doesn't work on oreo

Initially I really liked it but the past 1-2 days have been hell. This app has been crashing so hard it takes my phone with it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. And it's to busy crashing to do what I needed it to do.

Awesome, dude. Thank you. I had this problem where my headphones were connected but when I get an incoming call, I hear it through the phone's speakers. (Which is stupid cause I have the headphones connected) But this app fixed that problem thank you.

New changes made it so that when phone calls come in with corded headphones it creates an extremely loud scratch noise that I'm pretty sure is damaging my hearing. It's dangerous. Fix it, I didn't pay for hearing damage!

Was a great app, use paid ver. for years. Now whenever I receive a phone call app crashes. Becoming annoying. Have waited for fix, does not seem to be coming. I am using all default settings. Verizon Note 4 Marshmallow. Any help

This app has features I want, but they don't work consistently and the app forgets my settings often. I have a simple issue with my phone: the headphone jack detects erroneous plug outs! All I wanted this app for was to prevent music from pausing on unplug. That doesn't work that often and everytime I go back into the app to figure out why I can see that my setting to disable headphone jack detection is reverted to default. I wish this app worked, but it doesn't. Don't come to count on it.

Really? I'm listening a music then suddenly the phone speaker itself automatically turns on. And people around me look at me and trying to figure it out where the music came from. I feel embarassment when using this app and forces me to just manually fix my 3.5 millimeter headphone jack.

does not work with android oreo. The devs have seemed to abandon this app. The last update was September 2016! There have been no updates to fix any of the numerous problems. They should be fixing the problems, especially for people who purchased the pro key. Anyways if you have android 8 oreo, get a different app, this one doesn't work.

It does everything but what I want it to do, which is make sound come through HDMI using my MHL adapter. Not sure if this even works with a Samsung Note

My Samsung S7 headphone jack all of a sudden stopped working after a system update so I did a little research online for how to fix it and installing this app was one of the solutions I found. I was skeptical, but to my surprise the app made the headphone jack functional again. I want to thank the developers that created this app, I can use my headphones and plug my phone into my FM transmitter again!!!

Doesnt even work...i downloaded to fix my speakers since they keep cutting out which doesnt even help. i also have to allow this app to be able to read my texts, calls etc...im better off without this....DO NOT DOWNLOAD

Really nice app. Iam using Redmi note 3. There is a problem with headphone jack in my mobile. even after removing headphones the headphone symbol is showing in notification bar and the all audio output is coming through headphones. So if I want to make a call I need headphone. Then I find this app . It's really good my problem is solved. Thanks to the team.

Samsung Galaxy S6. I have the free version. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the app thinks my phone calls are media and vice versa. I have to mess with the settings each time I use it because it performs differently every time. Maybe it's my phone. But I'm not paying for the premium version when the lite version doesn't work. Uninstalled.

i have Samsung smart tv and Huawei p10 plus,while mirror cast the sound is only in the tv but your app give me the choice to hear the sound on my headphones.. unfortunately there is a delay between the cast on the tv and the sound on my device as i want to use my headphones to hear the sound and don't want to hear it from tv.. can you please fix the delay issue please!

I have an old Samsung Galaxy Phone whose headphone jack isn't working for 7 years! Suddenly, i saw this app & check the reviews... I was first hesitant to try this app but what the heck i tried this app out of curiousity???? And... Boom my headphone jack started working again!!!!... Perfect. This app is exactly what I needed to fix my phone's problem. My phone was always in the headset mode even when not plugged in and was not able to hear calls or listen to music unless I plugged in the earphones. This app solved the problem by customized settings of having media and calls through speaker or earpiece. Thankyou for keeping it free^_^

Works but constantly crashes my phone for some reason having me turn it back on every 5-10 mins. Doesn't have a trigger it just happens at random.

Trialware- you will get a lot of nag screens. It wants godlike permissions. I tried it to fix Samung's stupid feature of leaving rings and notifications on speaker when you are on headphones, but the fix was worse than the problem. Uninstalling will not restore your settings! Be sure to reset everything manually before you uninstall or you may be forced into a purchase just to get your phone working again.

Life saver!! My Xperia phone would pause my music, videos, and podcasts every time the headphone port wasn't manually pushed and held in a very specific direction, but this app can force the audio to be sent to my headphones anyway, bypassing a dodgy connection sensor. Now my audio works perfectly. Amazing.

this app is working 5 minutes and after that is stop working, Pro feature solve this problem? I want to know because i want to buy this app, is help my with my smart watch, but only for 5 minutes!

Have been using this with great success with Android 7 but after upgrading to Oreo (Android 8) it no longer works. The app either crashes when launching or is stuck on the Pro Key screen. Are you going to update it to support the latest android version? I have tried reinstalling, clearing the cache and data but it just doesn't work.

Do you have a stupidly designed Samsung s5 - s7 that doesn't let ALL sound (notifications) run through your plugged in headphones or external speakers? Are ypu tired of embarassing yourself when you realize you are annoying everyone around you because Samsung loses yet another UX battle? Well, THIS GENIUS APP is the answer to your prayers (so is any android phone but, still...). An utter saint of a developer. Lets you point which specific sound you want where and when. No more missed notifications and no more disturbing everyone on your quiet train commute! Thank you, angel person!!!

Ahhh!! I'm getting something frustrated. My headphone Jack isn't working and I have no idea what I'm supposed to select so I can use aux cable. It's just constantly jumping around from wired device to wired device (mic) and phone speaker. If I select don't detect plug in OR out it automatically plays on the phone speaker...i need the music to go through the aux cables so I can listen to music from my phone in my car using a FM Transmitter!!! Stupid phone! Grrrrrr!

I'm pretty sure this is what I need to route Bluetooth headset audio (OUT)(DISABLED) and Bluetooth headset mic audio (IN)(ENABLED) to wired headset audio (OUT)(ENABLED) with microphone (IN)(DISABLED) and Phone audio (OUT) (DISABLED) and Phone microphone audio (IN) (DISABLED). Except the descriptions are not universally clear like I state in the above description. This is about the most confusing app I have ever used. Reading the labeled descriptions over and over again just makes me even more lost from when I started. What is (IN) and What is (OUT) what is (DISABLED) what is (ENABLED) and what exactly does (LET APP DECIDE) mean? Which App are we talking about, and what's it gonna decide. This app, then what's the decision or the other app and whatever it decides. Whats the difference between Wired Headset and Wired Headphones and Earphones they all both come with and without mics. What's the difference between USB and DOCK and HDMI, aren't they all the same too? Analog and Digital, really? This over complicated interface with over simplified labeling sucks dude. Sorry.

This is one rubbish app which was meant to help with a minor issue, instead it has completely taken over the phone. Nothing works properly now. "Let app decide" is a joke The headset mic doesn't work anymore. And I have to change settings every bloody time I either want to listen through headphones or the speaker. This app has permanently ruined my phone. Uninstalling it doesn't work. Factory reset doesn't work. And the biggest joke of all is I have to continue using it if I ever want to listen through headphones again. Which is almost all the time. Before this app my phone was fairly flexible. Not anymore. It's now more like some Alzheimer's suffering guy that needs prompting all the time. Major disappointment this.

I was very upset with the earphone mode...I visited 2 service centres of mi but they all told me heavy amount ₹ 8000 for fixing this ......then I checked this app ....and now finally I can listen song ... with my earphone... thanks a lot SoundAbout

DO NOT BUY IF USING ANDROID OREO. I've been using this app for several months, and it's been working great. I use it to only play notifications over headphones when they are connected. However, I just received the Android Oreo update on my Google Pixel, and the app no longer works. I'm very disappointed in this, and if the app is updated to work with Android Oreo, I will update my review.

Thought my headphone jack was broken. Turned out, it was just the sensor. This app made my phone audio come alive again. Thanks!

After I dropped my phone in a hot tub, my it has trouble playing audio; I can only hear phone calls when I put it through the speaker and not the earpiece, but the speaker will only play ringtones and not other media. When I used SoundAbout to tell my phone where I wanted the sound to come out, everything cleared up. As long as I have SoundAbout running silently in the background,() everything works perfectly just like it did before!

Bug: when set to "let app decide" listening to music using "pvstar" on bluetooth earphones, when somebody calls it routes the music to the speaker and CANNOT MUTE IT OR LOWER VOLUME. Allows you to manually route audio to where you want it. Its a must if your automatic detect is broken.

Not working since I installed Android 8.0 on my OnePlus 3. I have a stuck aux cable in my headphone jack and I used the soundabout app to direct calls through earpiece. But the app doesn't work now. All I get is a screen that says SoundAbout Pro Key. Very annoying. Need it to work. I when paid two dollars for the pro version.

I love this app soo much! My headphone jack can't sense when there is anything plugged in but now i can listen to music perfectly :D Well worth the money to pay for the full version! Samsung Galaxy S5
