About PGP SMS lite

official support up to Android 4.3!

- secure transmission of messages with asymmetric encryption
- totaly over sms
- public-key infrastructure (PKI)
- comfortable and easy use

If you want to share sensitive data with someone, others should not be able to spy the data. To reach this goal we created this app.

With this app, an attacker, who probably intercepted the sms to get its content, cannot get any information from the content because he can not do anything with the encrypted text.

Functionality:
A Keypair is created.
With the Public Key you encrypt a message.
With the Private Key you decrypt an encrypted message.
You send your Public Key to the person which wants to send you an encrypted message. The person encrypts the message with your Public Key and sends the encrypted Message to you. ONLY YOU can decrypt the encrypted Message with your Private Key.

Instruction to send encrypted messages:
- your friend shares you his public key
- now you can send him an encrypted message

Instruction to get encrypted messages
- you share your public key to the person which wants to send you an encrypted message.

Android 4.4 doesn't seem to work. No way to decrypt msg.

App generates a really small key (looks < 1024 bit), doesn't appear to actually be a pgp key and doesn't allow selection of an existing key.

When messaging some one with out app or even trying to rate app it redirects to the paid app

It's absolutely impossible to try free app. You're forced to buy, if you would like to test it.

The decrypted message only appears briefly in the notification bar on the phone. I can only read a few words then it is gone. The encrypted message remains in the text messages on the phone but no way to see the decrypted message.

My friend has an S3, I can send him messages but he cannot send to me. He's deleted my key as well as uninstalled/reinstalled and I have sent him my key as well as automatically accept requests. Nothing works.

Just started using it, it's been over 15 years since I seriously used pgp but with the recent nsa and fbi scandals it's time! I suppose the Orwellian world is inevitable, eventually, but as long as we have some freedom we are obligated to use it. All messages and communications of any kind should be encrypted! It's our civic duty as free peoples!

I have installed the software and still new to using it, my question is "should the Recipient installed this software in order to be able to use it properly? Thanks

Z70%

Not sure what is up. Thanks me for using it and asks me to upgrade to pro when I try and send. Won't see encrypted text when buddy sends one but I see it in my sms.

I'm changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. After installing the app and try to figure out how it works and gave a bad review. The developer let me know that the app doesn't play well with 3th party messaging app like go sms. A little disclaimer on the description could have save a lot of trouble. Thanks.

Y70%
by Y####:

UI is nice, intuitive. BUT. It crashed during 1st test message. Then to send another test message, the Lite version makes me wait a few minutes or upgrade to Pro for "excessive use". since it crashes, and I can't spend forever trying to test it.. its not likely I will ever wish to buy an unproven "pro"duct.

Will buy full version once I've convinced a few more to start using this great app. Thank you!

Having been a GPG (GNU PGP) user on Linux and various other UNIX and Unix-like systems for years now it is refreshing to have a secure SMS client leveraging PGP for encryption. Now I can use my PGP key that I've had for years. No more managing a myriad of keys and half baked encryption algorithms.
