About Sketch a Track - GPX Viewer

With ‘Sketch a Track’ you can easily plan your next hiking or bike tour and generate offline maps*. Simply draw a track on the map (+offline maps*) or import GPX tracks from all over the world. The track is analyzed by the app, the distance and an elevation chart is displayed. Navigation while doing outdoor activities like hiking or mountain biking is easy off the road.

Offline maps* can be generated to use the app without an internet connection.

GPX is a commonly used file format to exchange GPS track data. You will find a lot of hiking or mountain bike tours in this format on the internet

'Sketch a Track' is an easy to use GPX creator. You can create and edit your own GPX files to share them with others.

Tracks can be imported, exported, drawn, erased or explored. Exploring means that you can move across the track and the corresponding location is marked in the elevation chart.

Also your location is displayed on the map as well as on the elevation chart when you are close enough (within a radius of 100 meters/330 ft) to the track. Imperial as well as metric systems are supported.

A track can consist of several segments. A new segment can be started by pressing the S Pen side button while hovering on the screen.

'Sketch a Track' is optimized for devices with an S Pen, but also a great tool on other devices.
You have a Samsung Gear? Then also have a look at 'Sketch a Track for Gear'!

In the trial version you are limited to save up to three tracks but you can unlock the full version within the app. The full version also let's you export your track to GPX and allows you to create offline maps*!

(*) the offline maps feature is temporarily disabled caused by changes of our previous map tiles provider

I paid for app but disappointed because while I am following my created track, the blue dot which shows current position moves off the map and then you have to manually center the map to see where you are. The blue dot should remain centered as you move.

Ypu get reallike map views and a no nonsense drawing tools. My only difficulty is setting up two or more routs without attaching the second plot with the first.

Absolutely fantastic app for discovering new running or hiking routed no matter what country I'm in (so far only tested across Europe though). Haven't been able to find any other app as useful as this.

H70%

Great app for navigation, but since i use it for mountain biking it would be really helpful to have offline maps because there are times that i do not have a good 4g signal. Please fix that.

Could we get way points as a feature added to this? That'd be amazing for planning staged trips etc.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to. Oh sure I can import a gpx file and it shows me the elevation graph. I can sketch a line around my current location and it shows me an elevation graph, very useful if I want to plan a future hike around my block. But when I drew a sketch on a trail I planned to do in the future, not on my street, no graph. That refresh looking button doesn't seem to do anything either. The app also crashed after using it for a few minutes. Edit, 05-25-15: Still doesn't work.

Good app. Can view GPX file. Shows elevations. Got the full version. Wishlist: - Option to disable GPS (or use sporadically) (to save battery)? - Record you position. Drawing with hand is tedious. - Option to list offline maps and delete selectively. - Save / load from Google Drive.

I like this application a lot. It helps me create routes which I can import into other programs. The only thing that's frustrating, is that there is no undo button. If I make a mistake is not easy to fix it. Would be an awesome app. with the addition of this feature.

My initial thoughts are that this is a great idea but it would be 100 times better if it used open source maps that showed footpaths etc. That's the type of walk I like, not just walking on Google roads
