LinConnect for Linux for Android
Works perfectly fine (using ArchLinux with i3). To those who are unable to get it to work: make sure all the required python2 packages are installed and also install (and start) a notification daemon.
Using it for a few months now. Works great. No errors or difficulties. Only enable the security settings
Since I updated to Nougat the app keeps popping up and saying that it's now stopped. I will wait for the update. This on an HTC One M9.
Best App ever Love linux and love opensource keep it free man, and ads free i hope i can donate you your app worth it thanks for sharing it with us.
The linconnect-server is broken. Using i3wm.
Hasn't been updated in years. Constantly crashes.
This is an awesome remote desktop Style app. I love it!
It really helps to keep an eye on calls and messages during working
Really appreciate the effort of the developer. Loved this app. No need to check my phone when working on my computer.
Awesome. I work a lot in the computer. With this app I can see what is happening with my phone with out see it.
Great application, thank you. Works perfectly!
This app has a lot of potential. I'm using an HTC One M8 and Linux Mint 17. Server installs fine, app installs fine, but test notification won't go through. Server is detected but the app can't send the test notification. Oh well.
It doesn't work on my Ubuntu, why? And doesn't show up on my HUD nor can i uninstall it now. I don't want the sit in my comp for nothing. Please let me know how to remove files it has installed in my computer. Thanks
Doesn't work on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Brilliant. Decided to donate too!
Works at the moment perfectly for me.
So far so good. No problem at all on my elementaryOS 0.2. Great app.
Looking forward for new features, will be awesome to see ability to answer messages/sms from desktop, if possible.
Since KDE connect, I've wanted something like this. Extremely easy to set up. What I love is that unlike most of these type of apps, it notifies anything. Handy when phone is upstairs and I get a whatsapp. Sometimes I get the message that the port isn't available on the server side which means I can't use it at work. Option to refresh list would be perfect. Great work and I've already wrote a blog about it.
Been using the app sine quite sometime now. Recently is when I noticed that, "Ok Google" hotword detection on the phone stopped. After a lot of looking around and several steps, When i deactivated LinConnect as from notifications, "Ok Google" hotword detection started working. Do have a look at this issues. Waiting for a reply and will be onliged with any assistance from my side
I like it .Looking forward to edit this review to " I love it ' Thumbs up for the developer !
Had this for a while and still love it. Have not noticed any problems on Marshmallow.
Works great. You need to enable Notification Access for linconnect in Security settings in Android. Would be 5 star if you can also show notification text as well.
Nice application, waiting for future support of encryption and authorization.
I am running Arch Linux and it works great!
Only for linux user:-)
This app has a lot of potential. I'm using an HTC One M8 and Linux Mint 17. Server installs fine, app installs fine, but test notification won't go through. Server is detected but the app can't send the test notification. Oh well.
After installing LinConnect on Ubuntu 14.10, I can send a test notification successfully it says in app. However, it does not appear on my Linux desktop's screen. Is there something I have to install first? I notice some information in the terminal window and some error message about Apache server. Please reply.
great app
Its a very useful software, but there is one little suggestion that I have that I think can improve it. If you can make this application detect whether the user is actively using the device or not, and if they are using it, then there isn't any point to send the notification. Because they are seeing the notification themselves on the device. For example if you can make an option in the configuration page of the application, something like: "Send notifications only when the device is locked." and the application detects that the phone is locked (not in use physically) it should send the notification, otherwise not. That too could be an 'option' of course for those who'd like to opt for it. The reason I am saying this could be useful is because in my Ubuntu setup, I keep a record of all the notifications like android. So all of the notifications that I received when I was away are stacked. Now, when I am away from my computer, I am probably using my phone. So when i come back, at times i have up to 50 or 60 notifications which all of them I have read on the phone. Do you think this is possible?
Server and client installed. LinConnect enabled both in-app and in accessibility. Server running, same network... no server seen... Custom server ip returns test notification not received error. Help appreciated :)
Just works. (especially good with recent-notifications indicator). Server side needs some fixing and might not show notifications with percent values in text.
I honestly don't know if I could live without it. When I'm on my computer, I usually wear headphones, so I'm usually not able to answer calls. However, Linconnect changes all of that, and fits my workflow perfectly.
Is it not supported in android lollipop??
What is was looking for. Now Linux is better than windows or Mac.
I would love if it also worked over my data connection. Also I notice it does not refresh connected systems after I switch from data n/w to wifi. Someway to manually refresh the list would be nice to have.
Great work! Keep it up!
This is a really promising application considering it is only in Alpha. Developer is very responsive and willing to help. Would recommend. Thanks for supporting open source software and Linux. Please open source the client!
I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I put my phone on silent at work so sometimes I will miss a call or text. Great app.

I would love to use this app but the server seems not work on Ubuntu Mate, maybe it happens because its gtk2 log: Installing Python dependencies...
