About NVidia Tegra PRISM Toggle

**THIS APPLICATION REQUIRES ROOT ACCESS***
**IF YOU UPDATE YOUR NEXUS 7 TO OFFICIAL ANDROID FIRMWARE 4.4 PLEASE CHECK YOU HAVE ROOT ACCESS AFTERWARDS!**

This application reduces the appearance of a washed out Nexus 7 screen after watching video content. Since no screen is created equal results may vary.

NVidia Tegra 3 PRISM Screen dimming functionality helps reduce battery consumption by dynamically adjusting your displays LED backlight levels. This can cause a washed-out effect after watching videos, especially so on the Google Nexus 7 tablet. This application allows you to toggle it enabled/disabled.

By default NVidia PRISM is enabled after each reboot.

To override this default behaviour check the "Set at boot" option.

The app seems to be working good and the ghosting issue seems to be gone. Will test more to be more certain. The price didn't bother me none since I bought it with the Google play credit :-)

Well, given the perception of a washed out screen I thought I would give this app a try. Although on initial launch it seems to make the screen brighter it only comes apparent after extended use in a selection of applications. While it does seem to resolve the problem of poor contrast on the Nexus 7 screen I still feel that over a dollar is still too expensive.

Because I DL uninstalled and DL again to double check they don't offer a refund button hope I get my money back didn't work on my nexus 7 2012

The overall effect of disabling prism in general use is very subtle, but this does appear to fix the screen washout issue while watching videos.

If you notice slight brightness fluctuations when scrolling or loading applications and it drives you irrationally crazy, this application is for you. Note that this doesn't fix ALL types of flicker - only the flicker related to Prism. I still notice the very slight "rhythmic" pulse in Maps on my Nexus 7 if I look closely at low brightness and don't scroll (since this is most likely due to a hardware issue, not software), but all the brightness changes based on the screen contrast are gone and it looks much better.

Glad I found this app, it completely fixed the screen flickering I was experiencing during low light levels with my Nexus 7. During video playback especially the light would constantly dim and brighten and this is no longer an issue for me.

I was about to take my Nexus 7 back for good because this is my 5th one. I even called Google once and they told me this was a hardware issue. This app fixed the issue for me so if anyone else is having the issue and thinking of replacing your Nexus 7 give this a try.

I'm not sure if it's this app or Lux Auto Brightness that fixed the screen flickering when WiFi is on and or low. Although my 32gb nexus 7 wasn't much noticeable compared to the 16gb version. It could be both the apos combined, who knows? But I'm experiencing no flickering while using maps, apps, etc... below 30% brightness. This could be a nice alternative instead of the scotch tape fix.

I was gonna send my tablet back to Asus yet again but dont feel like waiting a month so this did the trick and come on people 1.55 $ is still cheaper than shipping it to Asus

Every time I would watch a video in full screen the screen would get washed out for around 30 seconds. With this app I don't have to worry about that anymore.

I was suffering from screen going completely black while playing HD video, but this app just fixed it. Great job and thanks.

This app is not worth it. Screen wash out is a firmware issue and will be fixed in a update for free.

This app fixed my low brightness flicker. I was going to replace another Nexus 7 but now I will not be doing it. With Prism on, Google Maps flickers upon internet use, with Prism off, it doesn't. This is easy to test and it worked for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have a Nexus 7 running stock Android 4.2.2 and had noticeable issues with screen flicker, especially when using the kindle app, even with auto brightness off. After doing some research, I discovered that PRISM was to blame. After installing this app and running it, my screen flicker issues are gone.

My Nexus 7 screen looks so much better now while watching videos. That tetra 3 power saving feature sucks
