Swach Bharath Is an mobile app promoting citizens to do and document their duty in keeping india clean. The citizen can directly report onto to a single platform, the

1. Efforts and initiatives by the citizens in “cleaning up” cities or streets
2. Report “need to clean” locations for other Government agencies which are responsible for the sanitation of the region

The app helps the citizens to document the event of “cleaning” or report “need to clean” using
1. Geo-stamped photos
2. short surveys or data points
3. Youtube Videos

which can synchronize directly to a common web portal which is available for public view.

This app enables the following.
• To monitor dustbins on clearing garbage
• To monitor paid toilets and washrooms.
• To reward those who keep their surroundings clean including industrial houses.
• To document through photographs of a particular area or locality, stressing on how they were before and how they are at present in terms of cleanliness.

With the launch of Swach Bharat initiative by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narandra Modi, this app can contribute to the Swach Bharat initiave with a reporting system for the citizens to present progress of clean up drives or self driven initiatives.

Overall, it presents data to arrive at a Cleanliness Quotient of the Country.

The app also features a complaint reporting system using which the citizen can report detais of an area which needs to be cleaned by the Government agencies, again using gepstamped photos and data points describing the issues.

This app will enhance citizens’ interests in participation in public administration. The new citizen-oriented approach is fundamentally transformative and calls for new innovative approaches to employ ICT for governance and empowerment of citizens. Citizen Motivation is one of the preconditions for citizen participation in governance. The sender and recipient of communications must have a reason for sending messages of cleaning India. Human needs for self-expression, attachment, societal interaction, recognition and association are motivating reasons.


OPERATIONS

Registration
-----------------
It is required that the citizen registers into the system by using the registration module in the menu, by providing the name, email, mobile number and a profile type. Thereafter, The IMEI of the phone will be used to identify the user submitting the information.

Selecting State & District
----------------------------------
The first step for the user is to select the State and District by clicking on the drop down menus.


Selecting the Category

The user may choose to select :
1. “I cleaned” my india : If the user is a citizen or Government official who wants to report the successful cleanup drives conducted
2. My India “Needs to be Cleaned” : If the user is a citizen who wants to report the locations which have been ignored by the Government agencies or their contractors


“I cleaned” My India
---------------------------
In the ‘I Cleaned My India” module, the citizen can report a before photo which is the photo of the site before the initiative (this is optional) and an after photo which is the photo of the site after the cleanup drive is successfully complete.

The before cleanup module can be used to send a geo-stamped photograph. The after cleanup module can be used to send not only a photograph, but also a short report on the activity with the the type of clean up work and the details on the clean up drive.


My India “Needs to be Cleaned”

This module is used to report the unclean areas which have been ignored by the Government. The module can be used to submit photographs and reports. The operation is similar to the operation of ‘I cleaned my india’ module.
