LockIt Launcher

This launcher locks down your child's device to only the apps you approve. In addition, on phones, you can create quick dial shortcuts for approved phone numbers, to ensure that no calls are initiated, that you don't approve of.

This is perfect for devices that are for the child only. For toddlers, you don't have to worry about accidental changes to settings, accidental dialing of numbers, getting into the play store, and content protection. For pre-teens and teens, you don't have to worry about content protection and unapproved phone calls and texting.

This app is also perfect for seniors that are not technology savvy. Locking down the phone and creating quick dial shortcuts to important contacts (emergency, children/grandchildren) eliminates the frustration (on both sides) of technology.

This is version one of the app, so more features are planned, such as changing the background, customizable profiles, a safe texting app, a safe gallery app, and a remote call and text log monitoring, to name a few.

This app replaces the launcher on your phone. If you plan on sharing the device with your child, you will have to change the default launcher before you hand the device over, and change it back when you take it.

How to use:
1. Download and install from the Play Store.
2. Press the Home key, and choose LockIt Launcher as the Default.
3. Press the upper right corner of the screen to expose the Settings button.
4. Press the Settings button to launch the Password dialog.
5. The initial password is the password hint, in reverse. Press Settings to launch the Settings Screen.
6. Change your password and press the Set button to save it.
7. Choose the apps you want to show on the main screen (they will show "Approved").
8. Press the back button to exit the Settings Screen.
9. Reboot the device. This ensures that pressing the back button doesn't bring up previous Activities that were running prior to the install of LockIt Launcher.
10. Enjoy the safety of LockIt Launcher!

To remove an app from the Home Screen, press the Settings button in the upper right corner, enter your password, and press the Unlock Home Screen button, a padlock icon will show in the upper right corner. Long press the app to remove. Confirm the deletion from the dialog box. When all desired apps have been removed, press the padlock in the upper right corner to lock the home screen, again.

*IMPORTANT NOTES*
1. Be sure you change the default password!
2. If you forget your password, it can be reset to the default by typing 'oops' (without the quotes) into the password field and pressing the Settings button.
3. While the Home Screen is unlocked, you cannot launch apps. You can only long press to remove the app from the Home Screen.
