A baby's first word is an exciting milestone. It is the beginning of a journey for your child to express themselves. Many children will learn new words regularly. Others will have some delay. For these children, identifying the delay as soon as possible allows them to receive early intervention.

Speech therapy can be as difficult for the parents as it is for the child. You may assigned "homework" between sessions including keeping a log the words that your child uses. This can add stress if you delay working on the log until just prior to the speech session.
