About BrisAccess
BrisAccess is a one-stop solution for people with disabilities to go out and about in Brisbane and SouthEast Queensland.
BrisAccess consists of a website and an Android application.
http://brisaccess.teardesign.com/
The website will show you a map with points of interests such as restaurants, shops, sports venues, train stations etc. then display how accessible a particular location is.
The Android application will then help people with mobility disabilities to get to your destination.
By default, the app will show you the list of train stations that are covered by Queesland Rail, complete with the accessibility level of each train station.
Then, you can input the name of your destination and the app will generate the route for you to go. If a train station is unable to be accessed independently by mobility-disabled people, the app will show you a warning and give you the option to call for assistance.
For people with no disabilities, BrisAccess can be used as a simple journey planner to go out and about in Brisbane.
As BrisAcces was developed as part of GovHack 2015, there are still plenty of room for improvement in BrisAccess. Please feel free to send us your comments and feedback!
