what3words for Android
This held such promise, but it's broken by profit motive: W3W won't release their database of words, locking you into their private, proprietary system. Numeric (WGS84) GPS coordinates are free, easily understood and simple to convey. It's not an upgrade if any one of those three criteria must be sacrificed to improve another.
This app is amazing! Great to find friends at night amongst beach bonfires! Lol.... But you need to add away to store history of address looked up and/or favorite addresses. ;)
I needed this app to work, its a great idea, but it failed me, epically. Ill just stick with Gmaps, its clunky but works when I really need it to. It's a shame, it had horrible reviews when I installed it, now it has way better reviews, odd that.
What3Words is a brilliant idea - to come up with a simple, easy way to uniquely address every room-sized area on the planet. If it catches on, as it should, it will make a great way to direct people to a specific location
Great tool but really needs setting for recent places, favourite places, home, etc. Maybe for the next update. It could also do with some more international publicity, this app needs to be on everybodies phone/tablet. The more people that use it, the more useful it will be.
DNS 4 GPS! The system is awesome! The app could use a couple of features, most notably a favorites list. That functionality could be offloaded to navigation apps, but why? Hopefully it's on the way.
Great idea! Sime idea, yet very effective. I use it for noting locations of photos, meeting up in large, busy spaces, and to provide the "address" of a summer home and location at ski resorts. And so much more is possible!
Now that I have upgraded to a BlackBerry KeyOne, it works brilliantly. Always thought it was a wonderful idea. Just BRILLIANT!
This app is great! It just needs an offline feature so we can use it offline and a favourites and recents list
Simple and smart... I wasn't convinced at first but 95% of my friends can't share a pin and can't handle coordinates!
What a major navigation innovation ...well done with such a simple and effective solution
Very good for travelers. Most important. Better if we can find the technq of 3 name.
Sucks nothing else to say
I love the idea! It would be nice though to be able to toggle the grid.
Great idea & well executed.
Superb job done by naming entire earth surface.
what3words is going places! Brilliant idea.
Simply brilliant - brilliantly simple.
Awesome development. Genius idea.
Awesome technology
Don't usually write reviews but this concept and app is amazing. Truly transformative idea, let's hope that it achieves it's potential and gives everyone a name for thier home
Excellent new way for addressing every spot on earth. Easy to understand, simple to use and effectively helps in communicating any location accuratly and fast.
Absolutely brilliant.. hope to see it integrated into google maps to unleash full potential. Like Uper
So how do I find a specific location if I don't know the 3 words that you guys have assigned to it?
Brilliant. I use this to meet up with friends in city. Also, it's a safety device when hiking in mountains with friends since it works even in open spaces (where streets and their addresses don't exist).
what a nice concept! some type of visual guiding and/or routing-integration would be killer but for now, w3w does what it needs to do and does it very well!
Uniquely useful - I wouldn't be without it. There will come a tipping point when everyone will use it. Now, it's like the early days of Facebook...
Kept on asking me to verify login details.. After the 5th time i thought best to give up..
What a cracking idea!
Fun app and a great idea, I wish more people used it.
Address for the wrold in one place
This is a simple and brilliant idea.
It is a really cool concept
This app it's awesome
An amazing idea
ممتاز
Awesome concept.
Brilliant idea.
"Amazingly.excellent.utility" describes both this app and a precisely defined 3m x 3m bit of scrubland near an intermittent creek named Mobigamy a bit northeast of a settlement named Girilambone, itself near the Macquarie Marshes located northwest of Sydney, Australia. But if injured, reporting an emergency, or otherwise trying to communicate my location accurately and precisely, I'd really rather tell them to go to the amazingly.excellent.utility called what3words.

Spectacularly smart idea. In terms of mundane but important things like finding each other--great. In terms of worldwide use, in areas without address schemes (developing nations, nature, etc.), it makes a simple way to remember and communicate about a place. Consider emergency response, for just one example. The implications are huge. One can't remember a pair of 6 or 8 digit lat & long coordinates, but this is readily rememberable and shareable. Impressive.
