Wild About Whales

The app is good but there is an issue with submitting sightings, wherein the direction that I select ends up being the opposite on the published sighting on the map. Also unselecting the calf option did not work. This has happened twice now.

Whale direction is aways shown as north when my sightings are displayed on the map, even though I switch it south, and calves added when that is switched off.

New update is great. Adding time of sightings submission is very useful. Samsung S7 all good. No issues at all

Can someone please fix the app?! It's whale season and the ap refuses to work on my Samsung Galaxy S7! I can't get past opening the app.. the background flickers and I can't get to the settings to change anything :(

Some features appear to work ok. I can see other people's sighting but cannot add my own - when I try to I get a pop-up asking about location permissions - agreeing does not change a thing. Help function does not work. (Using Android 6.0.1 on a Xiaomi Redmi phone)

Doesn't work on my Xperia z5 compact, stuck on filter pop up. However I've installed fine on iPhone and still dislike the app, why oh why doesn't it have time stamps for the whale sightings? And why do you get notifications for everywhere rather than just where you have zoomed in on the map? Pretty pointless app to me.

Complete waste if time. I was so excited to see this app but I can't even make it paste the phone pwrmissions.

"No whale sightings for this filter" bollocks. Your fb page had whale sightings yesterday! Your app is broken.

Selection initiates popup that then requires closing, this is poor programming. The App needs a filter, we dont want to see week or month old sighting reports unless you can add tracking. We want to know where they are TODAY. When reporting sightings theres no date field ! Theres also no way to report unknown Whale Type. Honestly, this app has many awful omissions. What about different icons for at-a-glance info whale types. How about photos of whales that actually help people identify whales, and descriptions written by some with an age greater than 4.

Totally pointless. Regular lockups and crashes, slow response, tells me there's hundreds of sightings but can't find any of them, why do you need phone permission for this app? Absolute rubbish. Uninstalled.

Sorry, but this is the worst app I have ever seen and I have seen some over the years. Also it makes no sense to get phone permissions...

Who hired the d*#khead desk jockey that made the upgrade that stopped what WAS a great app? If it's not broke, don't try to fix it!, cause its broke now!!! Doesn't work anymore!!

Tjis is the most ridiculous app. Seriouslt it doesn't work and continually asks for permission to access my phone dispit me saying no. A fantasic waste of tax collars

Needs permission to make and manage phone calls, why? If you deny the permission, the app constantly reports no sighting recorded for this filter. Very poor, uninstalled.

Doesn't work. Asks to control my phone calls and phone book which i deny and then it freezes. Such a shame because i really want to use it.

App doesn't work. Not sure why you need to 'make phone calls' either but overall a massive fail.

Very disappointing. Loaded it twice just in case but it doesnt work. Keeps timing out or asking to access phone settings I have given access every time I was prompted

Buggy and half done. Can't filter by region AND time, no need for irrelevant permissions. Crashes when you zoom in. Check out dorsal app thats how its done this has been thrown together without any thought or skill. (Why didn't my review save?)

App wont work. Why would you need call privileges also ? Useless.

Buggy, crashy and the only screen I got told me I couldn't see anything because the filters were wrong but wouldn't allow me to change it.

I normally love this app but im having trouble with it it normally zooms in around my location now it just loads in the middle of the ocean somewhere and i have to find Australia please fix it

Could not get it to work. Kept asking for permissions and telling me there was no data.

Cant get past opening, says to select but wont let me select and have to close app cause freezes on opening selection ~ works on ipad but not.on my galaxy

Unbelievable rubbish. It glitches right from installation. Uninstalling it pronto.

Its a great, but is there a way to put a time on each individual sighting, when it is submitted, to be able to track the whales movements more accurately.

I had no issues with the app until I updated to the latest version. Now it's showing no whales ever despite being in an area that has whale sightings every day at this time of year. Gone from nearly 3000 sightings to zero

Cannot set number seen as the default "1" is very hard to select/delete on small screen, or not intuitive for users who dont know how to edit the input line..ie. 1, 11, 21, ...or 91...cannot set 3 whales for example. Secondly, cannot specify date of sighting. NEWBUG..despite submit SOUTH, all approved postings show NORTH. This is Really Basic Programming And Testing...cmon guys! ADDENDUM.. also too easy for the selectors to change accidentally eg. North or south, whale type Etc

Absolute rubbish. Pop ups galore telling you there is nothing to see. Constant crashes. Good to see my tax dollars wasted on a great idea executed as only the NSW Government can do

Tried to report 2 whales sighted but the number would not let me change the 1 to a 2 and instead reported 21
