About DragonBox Numbers

Give your child the foundation they need for future math learning with DragonBox Numbers.

DragonBox Numbers will teach your child what numbers are, how they work, and what you can do with them. The game makes it easy and fun for your child to gain an intuitive understanding of numbers. It's a great introduction to the wonderful world of math.

DragonBox Numbers brings math to life by turning numbers into colorful and relatable characters, called Nooms. The Nooms can be stacked, sliced, combined, sorted, compared and played with, any way your child pleases.

The app contains 4 different activites for your child to explore, each designed to challenge your child to use the Nooms and basic math in a different way.

The "Sandbox" section of the game is designed to let your child explore and experiment with the Nooms. It's also the perfect tool for parents and teachers to explain basic math concepts to kids.

In the "Puzzle" section, your child will use basic math to create their own puzzle pieces, and place them in the right spot to reveal a hidden picture. Every move your child makes reinforces number sense. Your child will perform thousands of operations while solving the 250 puzzles.

In the "Ladder" section, your child will have to think strategically to build larger numbers. Your child will develop an intuitive understanding of how larger numbers relate to small numbers, and practice basic math strategies every step of the way.

In the "Run" section, your child will have to direct the Noom down a path using quick mental calculations. Your child can use their fingers, Nooms or numerals to jump over obstacles. This activity reinforces your child's number sense and trains their ability to quickly recognise and add numbers.

DragonBox Numbers is based on the same pedagogical principles as the other games in the award-winning DragonBox series, and works by integrating the learning seamlessly into the gameplay, no quizzes or mindless repetitions. Every interaction in DragonBox Numbers is designed to heighten your child’s understanding of numbers and strengthen his or her love of math, giving your child a great foundation for future math learning.

I love this game, from the way that the numbers are built up, to the way that kids have to purchase (with pretend coins) access to a new level. The puzzles are such a fun way to play with the numbers, developing creative, individualized use of addition and subtraction. The tallest ladders do get a little unwieldy, but it's not a huge problem. I like the bombs in the ladders. It encourages precision, but doesn't give any sort of a FAIL response, just a OOPS, TRY AGAIN.

Very good, starts ridiculously easy but advances quickly, easy to stay at a level until comfortable. Easy tracing (wish there was more) . The only thing I'd add, would be the option to have the colors match different math systems like montessori, math u see, cuiseniare rods, etc. That would be perfect.

Worth 10 times the cost! My toddler plays for 5-15 minutes at a time and has been playing for months now. He absolutely loves this app and is interested in his "nooms" in the same way others are interested in Disney characters. I will buy every app by this developer as my child grows. I cannot recommend this app highly enough.

Decent but needs a way to sync progress. There's an account creation step, but it doesn't do anything yet.

Way cooler than number munchers.

Everything produced by WeWantToKnow is fantastic. My kids love all the DragonBox apps (worth every penny), so I was so excited to see that they created an app for the younger crowd, because DB was a little too advanced for my 4-year-old. He gets his chores done every day and the first thing he asks me is, "can I do my math now?" And I am so happy to let him! I would give this app 10 stars if I could.

I am changing stars from 3 to 5!! It's great... I bought it as a teacher and the kids (4 years old) think that it is fantastic. It has become the most requested activity in the class. I would like to make a suggestion though since I bought it as an educator and NOT a parent (I saw the review on the IB Magazine)... Only 4 users?? That is great for parents but not for teachers. It is so demotivating for the kids to have to start again. Any chance of a way to solve this? Thanks Nick

I have tried a huge number of maths games for my 5 year old. Most are rubbish, some are good, a few are great and an occasional one is fantastic. But this game blows all others out of the water, for the fact that it's as fun as some of the best non-educational games, yet amidst all the fun it's teaching arithmatic so well that it soon becomes intuitive. Learning just happens without the child even realising they're being taught. A game this good deserves an award! Just get it!

Didn't like it for the first 10 minutes or so. But it really grew on me. Love spending time with my five year old and watching him figure out sizes needed to complete the puzzles. It's clear that he's doing some sort of counting and size comparison in his head. Great app. Would buy again.

Dragon box has become my favourite app producing company for pre-schoolers. The original dragonbox program was my favourite. It was quite amazing to see my four year old work through the different levels. He and I were compelled. However in some ways it was not obvious that this really had great educational benefit for such a small child. Who knows what he would remember in the future? This one is just fantastic. Even after a couple of days play it was clear my son was gaining much greater facility with numbers and more than that was completely charmed by the program. I think this beats my previous favourite maths apps made by montesouri and really I think most four to six year olds could benefit from it as they start to discover the properties of numbers. Only complaint. The app seemed to ask for a lot of privileges when I installed it. I denied most of these, especially about giving access to my phones call facility(?). It seems to work fine but I wonder if this means I will now not get emailed about my son´s progress? Some info clarifying all of this would be helpful DragonBox.

Another great game from the makers of Dragonbox. Unlike most math games that just add sounds and graphics to quizzes, this is a game made from the rules of math. Buy this for your kid right now.

My daughter has really enjoyed playing this app, but we've had trouble from the start getting it to open. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. Needless to say this puts a damper on her limited and precious screen time, and disappointing trouble for the money.

Somehow my almost 6 year old finds it a bit boring. Not quite sure why, because she generally loves numbers... I however, quite like it, buy I'm hardly in the intended age-group.
