DroidPiper for Android
Great to be able to take all my music with me without a pipe of paper. (It doesn't seem to recognize rests?)
Speed too fast and selected tunes only.. if there is a search button to other tunes online and some adjustment in the speed, I will give 5 star
I can literally have any sheet music I want!
An Android friendly BWW reader for pipes. Absolute godsend for learning the band's tunes. Thank you thank you. Xxx
I am learning to play the bagpipe and this app is very helpful.
Plays tunes out for you. Wonderful for learning sheet music
Perfect tool for learning tunes you have never heard before
Coolest thing since sliced bread
That's a great app Das watt I tink do
Nice app but the missing feature is timing control.
Great app to learn songs . I would recommend it to everyone.
Good app. Needs (better) integration with cloud storage.
This is a great way to take all your bagpipe tunes wherever you go. Things I think would be good to include though is a way to delete things you don't want on the app any more and it would be good to have a key adjustment button to enable play with different piping instruments, also needs a delay of time or maybe a voice count-in to 3 or similar at beginning of each tune from when you hit the play button so I can be ready to play the 1st notes when the tune starts.
This is pretty amazing for a free app. Very surprised at the number of tunes. Only things I'd add are starting from a specific spot and slowing down a tune. I'd even pay for it!
But you have to add search option to find out another tunes. Otherwise it's good apps to learn and play.
Can you please add Brian Boru's March bagpipes? I really want to learn how to play it on my bagpipes. Brian Boru is my 17th great grandfather (don't believe me? look at the O'Hogan family tree, I'm Hogan, Fulminis Instar!) I listen to it all the time on youtube, thanks!
It does what it claims, and does it well. A few minor issues though, first it did heat up my Samsung s4 mini rather a lot. Second it stops playing if screen is logged, and last you can't define play lists...
I love being able to hear the tune as I begin to learn a tune. Plus it is helpful to refresh on old tunes every once in a while. This app is perfect for that. I don't think I would use it to compose, but I might in a pinch.
Speed too fast and selected tunes only.. if there is a search button to other tunes online and some adjustment in the speed, I will give 5 star
This is exactly what I've been hoping that someone would create for a android phone! Very useful for me! Well done developer ☺
Great app to learn songs . I wish you could slow it down while learning the song. I would recommend it to everyone.
I love the app but would you be able to add more tunes
Amazing! And you can go online and get millions of more tunes!!
Coolest thing since sliced bread
This the best free app I've found for the phone.
Great app just wish I could put own tunes on
Add more tunes
Very nice
Its okay, more tunes would be great. Easy to follow along and nice audio as well.
I love the app but would you be able to add more tunes
This looks like a great app, but could anyone tell me how I can download other new tunes that I have got on my PC. For your information I've now worked out how to do it. I am using a Sony Xperia phone, run Sony PC companion, then open file manager, then open the bww file on the mobile. You can now drag & drop any new tunes from your PC to your mobile. Hope this helps anyone else.
I'd give this six stars. It's too cool for words.
The best application I have. Got
Fantastic app. Great tunes as well that I didn't previously have the sheet music for. Would love an update with more tunes
Concerning DroidPiper 1.4: I am currently learning to play the chanter and am finding this tool very useful for helping to understand the timing of the tunes I am learning. I love the ability to write tunes that my instructors give me so that they match my sheet music - I only bring droidpiper with me now when I practice. I like the feature of highlighting a portion of a tune that I need more practice with and then repeat that portion over and over. Highlighted portions do not seem to slow to the programmed tune tempo, such as when I change TuneTempo to 30 (TuneTempo,30). The tempo does slow when playing the tune without highlighting portions of the tune. One feature I would like to see added is the ability to delay the start of playing a tune or portion of a tune after the play button is pressed so that I have time to get my fingers in place before the tune starts. I was wondering if there could be a tune programming reference? The sample tunes have been an excellent resource for learning to program sheet music requiring searching through the tunes fo find the same sequence of notes and then referring to the bww code. I am writing my own reference now.
I was happily surprised to see this app which is similar to Bagpipe Player and uses the .bww notation. I have used Bagpipe Music Writer GOLD for over 20 years and am pleased that this app is staying true to the notation system. The playback seems to be working quite well with only a few minor kinks that it sounds like the developer is aware of and working on. I look forward to introducing this to my students as a learning aid that will always be at their fingers! (pun intended)
I love using it to learn new tunes for my repertoire. But the main problems I have with it is that the tied notes do not play as tied notes, some tunes like "Desert Storm" are very hard to read by note, and after the second half while playing "Highland Cathedral," I get a crash message. If these main problems were fixed, I would very much appreciate it.
Nice app but the missing feature is timing control.
I love this app. It could be improved with a search function!

I have used this program for years on various computers, and I have accumulated a ridiculously large collection of tunes in this format. Now seeing this as an app for my wee tablet is awesome... I never have to carry sheet music with me again now! Keep up the good work
