PhotoIRmote for Android
Regret download. Refunded imediately. It should specify what camera or dslr that works with this app.
Does not work with my Galaxy S4 and Canon T2i. App causes screen to blackout after 1 second of inactivity by overriding my OS settings.
Purchase it and it won't work on my HTC m9
Works! with my LG G5 and NEX5. Can't get it working on my Nexus 4 with my NEX5...
Works great on my galaxy s4

No refund offered, unhelpful developer, also don't buy a crappy ir sender from eBay

I have no idea if anyone still working on this, but I kind a like this app. I was happy to build the remote back than. Unfortunately for some reason there is not enough power for the LED anymore on Nexus 5, Nexus 7. There is some slight IR light, but not enough for the camera. I you guys still developing this, please check it. Thanks
Samsung s4 and sony a7 it does not work. Very nice.
A little pricy for the non-perfect UI and features, but quite well done! I'd rather spend $6 here than $20 on the Nikon remote and then lose it. Highly recommend.
I love this app. Thank you.
Initially I could not get this to work. After turning off the amplification, I got the testing to work, but it did not trigger my camera. After playing around with it for a while I figured out that the emitter must be less than 12 inches from my camera and pointed directly at the IR sensor. In the real world this is useless. There is not enough range for remote triggering and it is too hard to hold the phone in front of the camera for long interval shots. Dont do it. Stick with your current crappy remote. It still works better than this.
Could not get it to work with my nex5 (listed as supported model). My transmitter works fine with other apps, so it's not a hardware thing. Have requested refund as the function was falsely advertised. Still waiting and its been over a month! Update: now been several months and no response.
I have tried both the IR mode and cable mode. IR mode only has a range of about 3 feet, further amp modification is needed. Cable settings is slightly better, however my camera takes multiple pictures when it should only be taking one- for time lapse also. No setting to adjust the length of the signals to remedy this. Not worth the price, there are free apps that work better (DSLR Remote). Using Canon 300D and Droid 3.
I purchased this app on my Galaxy Note 10.1 tab (because it has IR) and it does not transmit anything via IR to the camera (I have a nikon D7000). also as the developer asked not to rate negative, but instead to email them if any issues appeared, I did that and got no answer whatsoever. Also I cannot get my money back that I paid for an app that is useless for me now.
Not working with nikon D3 & D800 with usb & infra red Discription model is not mentioned but said works with nikon slr models Rajendra shingad Pune Indta
Nicely done, smooth interface, but the purpose of using a phone as a remote timelapse shooter is defeated by the fact that the app doesn't keep the phone awake, even with that option turned on in the app settings. Galaxy Nexus + Canon 550D, cable connection.
I hope you can make an update soon.
HTC ONE X. I was sceptical about getting an app like this, as I wasn't sure it would work, but after building the hardware part and checking it worked, I went for it. This app is really good, it comes with a nice interface and the HDR bracketing is a god send as my D3000 didn't come with it. Very easy to use, and works from a much better distance then others have stated. Would definitely recommend!

Bought the app yesterday and is fine and does as advertised, but today I noticed abnormal battery usage on my HTC One. As this app was the only change on my phone till yesterday, i assumed that it has something to do with it. When I looked at running processes I found that PhotIRmote is running although I quit the app with back button. Developer: why do you keep process running if app should quit?
Doesn't work good on GS4, the screen timeout goes to 0s by itself on the system settings. And always u have to press the home button to keep the screen on.
Didn't work in cable mode for D90 and D7000 :(
As somebody else said, this has issues with the NEX-5. I suspect Sony changed up some of the commands from the Alphas just to mess with devs like this and force you to buy their product. The shutter close command actually does OPEN the shutter though so it's not completely useless. weGroo just needs to change that in the description or add specific commands for the NEX series.
Used this with my Note 2 and Nex-5N, with the IR cable it works great. A couple of old remotes provided the LEDs, quick and easy Build.
I judged it too quickly. Its actually a very handy app.
Does not work. No refund
It works perfectly on htc one (m7) with sence 6 really cool
Works great on my S4 with my d3000. Perfect, light weight app. Cool interval timer and night mode features.
Seems like a good app but clueless on how to get started even. How do I click the shutter remotely for a basic start? I am using a sony slt a65 & samsung note 2.
Cable method or IR does not work on the Samsung GT-N7000 running Android 4.12. Have contacted the seller on numerous occasions requesting a refund and haven't received any replied.
The app performs exactly as it is supposed to, using the ir blaster on my phone to trigger the capture button on my camera! Good job!
This app will be perfect if developers add support for video start/stop (like DSLR Remote Plus) for Sony NEX cameras.
HTC One
Okay
Couldn't figure out why this wouldn't work with my HTC One even though all the settings were correct. I emailed the company and they responded within minutes each time. After discussing it a little, I found out the only problem was the IR receiver is on the front and not the back. Quick and fairly responsive app backed up with great customer service. I recommend this to anyone who wants a cheap and effective wireless remote.
Excellent app, works great on my SGS3 and Tablet Z, dev released an update that fixed issues I was having with the menu on a tablet, great work. Still cant use the Tablet Z's built in IR transmitter unfortunately. Has everything you could want, only new feature I could suggest is a large widget with the same controls and interface as the app.
im using samsung gt-p6200 tab 7 plus. internal ir not working. works fine with external IR transmitter. Thanks for the support from dev. Looking forward to use this app with internal IR
