Tree Ringer:Tree Ring Counting

An app to estimate the number of rings on a cross section of a tree.

Choose a point at the center of the rings and another at the edge. The app will then estimate the number of rings along the line. You can choose multiple edge points to take an average for a more accurate estimate.

Please note, no algorithm is perfect for counting the number of tree rings. The smoother the tree cross-section the better the estimate. If there is enough interest, I will put in a future version a calibration routine to help improve the estimates for varying qualities of tree ring images.
