BrewR - Beer Recipe Manager

Just as others have said, I had to replace my phone, and my "cloud sync'd" recipes never came back. What's the point if it not reliable?

Have used this app for several years and like it a lot, nice simple UI that makes on the fly changes easy. But since the last update, it has not been able to sync recipes, and the scroll bar overlaps and interferes with the edit recipe button. Otherwise would be a solid 4 stars.

Worked well with galaxy ring phone except timer occasionally would not end (cut off). Great for formulating various recipes at various sizes and keeping records of brew day numbers as well as kegging/bottling dates, numbers and other info. Been using it with confidence for quite a while now. Updated to another phone using the cloud function worked flawlessly until I attempted to add a note to an existing brew. All functions appear to work except NOTE on Samsung Galaxy J3(6). The function just will not open. Haven't brewed with the app and new phone and so far this is the only complaint but a loss of notes on all previous brews is a massive problem to overcome if it is not corrected

I've been using this app for about 18 months without any major issues. That is until I used the cloud sync and lost all of my recipes. Where did they go and how do I get them back? They just vanished from my device.

Used to love this app. For the past 6 months-year I constantly have to fight with the slider scrolling down my list of recipes when I try to hit the edit button. Shopping for a new app now.

Not a review writer at all but this deserves to be in the spotlight. I absolutely love this app! I have went the beersmith and hopville routes and this one is amazing. This is the only app I have found that you can change fermentable additions and will actually adjust IBU levels the way they should be. It is very very accurate and I could not make recipes without it.

Easy to use recipe editor. Love the brew timer for boil times and hop additions. The only thing missing is a mash calculator.

Losing all my recipes sucked, but whatever. The fact that I got no reply when I emailed about it is what makes me give a 1 star review.

I've had this app for two years and lost all my recipes.

As programming goes, it's wonderful! As an application goes, it loses my recipes all the time. Whether I chose the sync option, phone option... I've used it on multiple phones for years and always have had this problem. Had it again this morning for a pumpkin ale I did last night.

Would be a 5 but as of the last update it won't save my recipes. So I still have to email them to a folder because the app won't keep them.... lost all my old recipes too

This app is very user friendly it is nice when you can use this while completing a grain bill from your recipe

First time I used this app, it seemed great. I input my recipe and used it to keep notes on all of my brew way processes as well as fermentation temps. I open it back up today to make another note on the recipe and now it's gone. Which means that if this recipe turns out to be amazing, I'll have a very hard time trying to make it again. This means that this app is beyond useless, it can ruin your brew. I should have just spent the money on Brew Smith. Do not download.

Write down or type out your recipe. Luckily I was skeptical enough and wrote mine out because it lost my first recipe

Love this app for easy recipe creation and management. Only issue i have is from a recipe editing standpoint. On Galaxy Note 4, viewing list of recipes with phone oriented vertically(not landscape) when attempting to select EDIT in an expanded recipe in list of recipes, it is near impossible to tap on EDIT without dropping down to middle of list of recipes due to track bar on side of screen. Must orient phone to horizontal (landscape), to be able to select EDIT within expanded recipe.

Good and easy to use app. Not very detailed but it's OK. But the main issue with the app. is, my recipes keep DISAPPEARING.. Very annoying..

This app does everything I need and does it without being complicated. Easily updated and adding malts, hops and other items is simple.

You should get in touch with bigger brew stores and start having them put QR codes on the kits (and put the times/etc into a database you have) and then we can just scan them in! That would make this an easy 5 star app. That would also be an easy $5-$10 app purchase. (Thinking like Northern Brewer or Midwest Brewer for the the Midwest) - also, it would give you amazong publicity by having your app all over brewery kits that get sent country wide.

Best mobile beer program going around.

I work at a LHBS in Washington and use this to formulate recipes for customers. They like the program and I promote it to whoever has android phones. 5 star app! Need to add category 23 Specialty Beer to style select...

Easy to use and it calcs accurately for color, gravity and bittering units if the work is done to input all the custom ingredient info. Best brewing app out there!

This program is absolutly wonderfull. Beats many "real" computerprograms. Please consider to remove the overview. It is not that useful and the tiny buttons are hard to hit. Especially the edit button. Why have the delete button so close?

Definitely useful and works pretty good. Helps with formulating recipes. Makes it even better that its free

New recipes occasionally disappear then reappear later. Annoying when I want to add/change something in a new one I'm working on! Also would like to be able to add/personalise different types of units for generic ingredients.

I love this app and use it on my android phone and tablet. Now if only I could get a windos 8 version it would be even more useful.

Creating and sharing beer recipes is breezy

Very good brewing helper except its lack of BeerXML compatibility, which difficults importing/exporting recipes. The worst of all is that all of my recipes disappeared 3 times! Had to uninstall because of that.

I have used a couple different apps for homebrewing and this was the best one. For some reason though within the last month ALL my recipes have disappeared and when I try to retrieve them via the cloud sync nothing happens. Luckily all my recipes were saved on my laptop on QBrew, which I thought was cool because I could transfer to and from the app, but now Im going to have to hand type them into Beersmith. Was an awesome app, til my recipes disappeared. If this gets fixed I will give it 4 stars.

This app was a godsend. I spent hours each week devising and revising recipes. Then it crashed and I had to reinstall it. After doing so it refused to save anything at all. Lost all my recipes and crying into my beer .

Great app, but would like to see a couple improvements. We need to be able to input actual OG & FG. Recipe & batch notes need to be visible without going into edit. I would also like to see the measurement unit I input instead or along with the converted numbers. If I put in 2 oz., don't change it to .125lb. Or at least show both (2oz.(.125lb)). Allow me to input the unit of measurement of ingredients. What is a unit of cocoa nibs?

This is the best app out there for the price. Great for formulating recipes on the go. Also the timer is great for when brewing outdoors.

Like the app a lot, but can't give 4 stars since this doesn't factor boil off into the gravity calculation. Preboil Gravity x Preboil Volume = Postboil Volume x Postboil Gravity

I would rate a 5 stars if I didn't have problems with this and wasn't till I upgraded my phone to a s4 that it happened. I give it a 2 star because I have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling to get my cloud sync to wk showing all my recipes. Very taxing and tired of doing it. Would be nice if this would stop but i don't believe it will.

I a great app but I'd like to know what it means when the text is red at the top of my brew recipe. Detailed help files could explain it.

Easy make and share!

I use this app for every recipe. It calculates most everything for you. Allows you to update actual alpha acid values for each hop package and srm for grain. Includes a brew day timer and a bunch of other useful stuff. Could use a few other calcs and timers for mash but the darn thing is free and has ZERO ads. Thank you!
