Little Web Browser [2] for Android
This does NOT behave anything like the traditional text-mode browser lynx. It is much more like a modern web browser that renders tables, CSS3, JavaScript, etc., just permanently set with images off.
Your current browser can already do exatly what Lynx can do. Just adjust your content settings. Also ads are very annoying.
The free version worked but the full version crashes when I open it
FATHER OF UC BROWSER
Great little browser for the most part. Would love to support developer by upgrading to premium, but can't justify cost for an app that force closes so frequently. Hard to say which web sites are the problem, I usually use LWB2 to open links from other apps. A lot of them have been for articles on Lifehacker, CNET, or the Android News & Weather app.
As for v 2 there are no tabs present or they seem completely hidden (incl. button ... from screenshots) and that < exit? button is not working at all. At least on my Samsung mega 6.3 being forced to landscape mode(its single mode I use). But all other behaviour is stable and smooth.
I've used for a year, and I'd buy it again! I use it every day - it's a terrific text-only browser. Very easy on my data plan. And since I only have to turn my JavaScript on for a few sites, I'm hit with even fewer ads! UPDATE: Reply to the gripes-- the bookmark issue has been fixed for a long time (I have no troubles), and with the paid version the ads no longer cause 'crashes'.

As soon as I entered a web address a video appeared on-screen. Supposed to save data, not make it worse. Deleted it immediately.
Very small app size, very fast page loading, very low data usage, great page rendering, and nice minimal UI - the only app in its category im happy with!
Good for conserving bandwidth. Quick reply and bug fix from dev.
I understand the need for advertising, but not for full screen upon making a search. Also, as soon as it loads there's an error message.
Getting better!
Doesn't work
Both actually. And unfortunately I'm getting the same bug with the search bug/Url field. Not sure why it worked for me that one time... Maybe I'll try the paid version and see if i get different results...
I remember using (and loving) the lynx browser back when I was switching between win95 and whatever distro of red hat was available back then. This app is better than I remember! Thanks!!
This garbage app took over my Android browser then started opening tabs in Chrome once I figured out what was going on! It opened 26 tabs until I could stop it! Attempted to Hack into my Google & Yahoo acnts! Google needs to remove this crap from the play store!! DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS SPYWARE!!! JUST SHUT UP DUDE! YOUR APP SUCKS! QUIT CONTACTING ME! I'M A PROGRAMMER & WEB DEVELOPER, I KNOW WHAT TO NOT LOOK AT! CONTACT ME AGAIN & I'M FILING A COMPLAINT WITH GOOGLE!

Error was fixed. He did a good job of being responsive and the update fixed the problem. _---------------_------------------------------------I have multiple email accounts. The browser will object and put up an error message based on which gmail account you use. Somehow its logged me as registered under an email address even though it wasn't the account that I purchased under. I get constant error messages whenever I try to use. I paid a lot for the browser so this is annoying. Please fix.
$14 for a browser?? LOLOLOL

Simply outstanding! Best features for me: page zooming for aging eyes (2-finger zoom followed by double-tap), speed of loading, ability to display graphics if desired (in Settings). It took awhile to figure out how to access Tab navigation -- drag from left side of screen. Many thanks for this!
Very fast page loading and nice minimal UI, only app in its category im happy with. A few minor improvements could be: launch speed increase and a 'toggle images' menu option (like the toggle JavaScript option). Also inverted rendering doesn't work, but keep up the great work Jim!

The upper framd only show the url field. If I can't get it go work, I will consider refund.
Unfortunately does not install. Update. Installed in about 40 minutes.
If, like me, you are fed up with bloated and slow sites and browser apps, with their infuriating auto-play videos, ads etc etc etc, then this for you. I use it with newspaper sites where all that matters is the words and it is lightning fast with none of the video/image problems. Data is slow and expensive where I am and so this app is ideal. The in-app ads are not a problem and I would be happy to purchase.
I use this with duck duck go and it loads pages incredibly quickly. The app is well designed and provides high speed and low data consumtion. No complaints
although It doesnt download images, it downloads ads which is again the same.....and i thought this browser was for low data consumption

Very responsive developer. Excellent app. Great fast browser especially when roaming (tiny data footprint). Thank you
How the hell do I open them?

The advertising system works perfectly therefore this is an amazing Android App. As for text browsing, this app crashes the instant I type a single character in either the search or the URL bar. Hail Android for a 100% effective advertising platform - score 10 out of 10 for that. Score 0 out of 10 for web browsing, 0 out of 10 for useability and 0 of 10 overall. The only reason I gave it one star at all was to enter this comment. Hail Android as an advertising platform!
When I try to search it crashes. Not with anything
Doesn't work
Without any problem... Fast surfing in web

App as described, but it is so simple to make. It is just the HTML Viewer with a few options on/off. Default browser can do the same things (no images, Javascript) sans ads. Tabs are glitchy. Ads are in the way of onscreen zoom functions. Not worth the hassle and certainly not worth $4.84 for an ad free version. Someone needs to make a true port of Lynx to Android in apk format.
