WeBuyBooks:Sell Items for Cash for Android
They can't seem to get the Hermes couriers to pick up your goods after you've scanned and packed them. 4 times they let me down by not turning up. Eventually they got UPS to pick them up and even then it took a week until I was paid. Try and sell your stuff elsewhere, although almost nobody offers good prices.
Rejected my most expensive item because of damage to front cover. I know this was not the case, but they will charge you to send it back rendering the total basket basically worthless, so obviously had no real choice but t accept this. Obviously a neat little trick to squeeze you further. Not impressed!
Pretty decent if you read the terms of use you'd realise they don't accept popular fiction and certain kinds of books. I sold them 20 random books and pocketed £50. If you're really strapped for cash it definitely does the job
A friend of mine introduced me to this app. What a great idea. I've freed up space on my shelves and it was so easy. Scan the barcode, you get a tick or a cross. You only need to hit £5 to complete an order and they cover posting with hermes. Granted hermes have a shocking reputation, but in this case no problems at all. Some titles are not accepted, which is a shame, however I imagine that they have received hundreds of these titles and so struggle to sell them on. I give this service a ????????????????
Scanner is a nightmare. Doesn't zoom to code, I have an S7 edge, and entering manually results in knock back or not recognised. Strange as I thought they wanted to buy books!
What a waste of time, scanned fifty books and only five got a tick! £1.69 - the charity shop will get more for them. Dont waste your memory on your phone!
Useless. Can't log into account, useless error message "oops basket combination not found", tried scanning 30 items, none were accepted, basket says there are 14 items in it but doesn't actually display or show anything. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
Really useful app once! Really liked the quickness and easy to use app but since it updated it says to everything I scan. It says I have lots of things in my basket but there isn't and it won't let me sign in
Crap sent items ages ago carrier says item on way to them (hermes) nothing since so either lost or stolen. No response from courier they claim it's there should be called we do not give you sod all but pinch your stuff.
Used it once and was fine, now everytime I go in to it the camera is blurred and won't scan barcodes. The camera in my phone works fine so definitely the app that's the problem. Uninstalling as it's pointless, I'm not entering everything manually!
Complete waste of time. Scanned a large number and variety of books but nearly all were rejected and of those that were accepted all but a couple were offered pitiful amounts (10p). I don't see how this is supposed to help declutter my house when 95% of books are rejected. Also, the app is poorly written and crashes frequently and the scanner keeps going off randomly and adding things I don't even own to the list. Suspiciously the phantom items it adds seem to get a good price! Shame I'm not trying to sell these.
DO NOT USE. I have wasted my valuable time scanning, packing and waiting in ALL DAY for the courier service to not turn up. Neither the app or the website is user friendly. Not impressed.
Really pretty awful out of about 200 books only 7 accepted and the order came to below the minimum spend things so yeah nah don't get it. Zapper is a much better app took about 20 and offered a fair enough price.
The App seems to work fine but not all of my books and DVDs are recognised, including Curious incident of the dog in the night time, Dan Brown books and John Bishop dvd, so out of 20 items I can only get rid of 8 which is below min value, so I can't get rid of any!
All I can see is a black screen when I try and scan and a red line so had to enter manually. Those that come up all seem to be 10P !
Don't bother with the app. Scanner facility didn't work on my Samsung S7 as it just won't recognise barcodes so have to enter everything manually anyway
10p for a £20 book, what a joke. Rather give it to charity
Keeps saying 'oops basket combination' or some rubbish. Even tried setting up a new account and same thing.
WeStealBooks. You won't actually receive the money, they don't stick to their own quality guidelines and if they reject your title then you have to pay for return postage.
Love this app, it's great ams easy to use, just a bit odd that it accepted really old books, but not ones that I've bought within the last year or two!!
I found this so quick and easy to use. Scanner took a couple of attempts once or twice but overall very good app. Makes selling stuff from home super easy!
The old app was a nightmare. After the latest update this is really nice and easy to use!
Easy to use and scanner worked great. I'm guessing due to supply and demand it was lowest priced for most of my books but still offering a Tenner for books just lying around. hope the payment process is as easy as scanning. Will update once my books are accepted
Initially had problem with scanner not focussing. I went into menu and then back to scanner and it seemed to be ok from then on. Maybe there is a bug here? Please note my rating is for the app. Reading through other reviews issues seen to be with offered prices and third party courier companies. I've used we buy books before and agree prices aren't always great but I figure 10p is better than nothing and the app speeds things up. I drop my items off so also cannot comment on Hermes.
Out of 50 books it only approved 7, less than a fiver. Either we have awful taste in books, of the app is ungenerous. Off to the charity shop next!!
Absolute rubbish, the scanner doesn't focus so, all ISBN numbers have to be input manually. Haven't got time to do that so, will not be selling anything and will uninstall the app
This app is a joke ???? I pay for books of 10 pounds and you give after 0.10 p (for new used once) later y sell it witch a more money the best of any scan is not even manual
Scanner is awful, very low offers for even recent blu rays and the app crashes after prolonged use. I have a galaxy s7.
Simple and easy to use.quick to answer any queries. Just no rhyme or reason to prices offered.but would recommend for decluttering
Won't scan or tells me it doesn't recognise. Waste of time.
Excellent app, great customer service, and although they lost one of my boxes they still paid for it... I waited a couple of months and sold the rest of the books they didn't originally want.
Scanned 1 book out of 10. Seemed better with dvds
Sent my books ages ago and have yet to receive payment. Definetly wouldn't recommend it.
Wouldn't scan so entered numbers manually. Extremely slow app
Terrible app! My book is worth £16 on amazon / ebay but this app only offered me £1.70!!!
My 20 really famous expensive books are defiantly not worth £3.99 . Rubbish app .
Oh dear. I found a leaflet advertising this app inside a book I bought recently but after reading the reviews I think I'll selling any books independently; very disappointing to hear they give sellers such a poor deal.
Just installed to scan books and it just won't scan. Useless
Scanned about 50 books. This included Novels, travel guides, textbooks and autobiographies. They wouldn't take anything.
