Storm Shield

I bought this last night and it seemed to work. However, there were no setting to change the sound (bells & whistles) of the alerts. Also, I tried several times this morning to access it and when you touch the icon, it doesn't load. It just goes back to your phone's home page.

April 2017 update-This app has gone downhill. Now, it takes a while to get all watches and warnings. The warnings come across the tv quicker than this app. It never use to be that way. Please fix this because minutes are crucial during severe weather here in the Cincinnati area.

Please fix NOAA voice.. Keeps saying error.. I know we have snow warnings out and they keep changing. But this app is not telling me via voice. Only had a few hours, but I see too late to get money back. Definitely not sharing this app.. uninstalled with money lost.. UPDATE: I see Dev does not acknowledge reviews, with resultions how to fix this or help..

It appears development has been discontinued for the Android app. The last Android release was version 2.7.16 in 2015, while the iOS version was updated to version 3.10 early this November. The Android app no longer works on Android 7 and above. Alerts and audio playback of bulletins and forecasts don't work, half the functions crash the app, and the radar doesn't have current information when it shows any info at all. Another case of take the money and run by a once-reputable developer. Don't waste your money on this abandonware.

I love this app except all of a sudden the audio portion of the forecast doesn't work. I don't always want to read a big long forecase, I want to listen to it. Frustrating!

Hello?----Hello!? Anybody in there!? We miss you guys...hello? ???? OK... I guess move on and find another app that'll wake me up a ???? because of a possiblity of light fog????. Send us all a message if you ever update and, once again, make this literal life saving app, great again... ???? GREAT! Now I'm paraphrasing the commander and chief orange maniac.. Very inaccurate, I was sitting in pouring rain while the radar showed it clear. Weather bug is 10x better and free. This was a complete waste of money.

Really comes in handy and gives a loud alert tone when there is a weather warning. Love the forecast and accurate radar as well. Also let's me know what's happening before I hear about it on the TV or radio. Highly recommended!

This app use to be great but it has gone down hill. Had it for a year and Now I don't get alerts if I do get an alert there is no voice also the radar is not the same. There has to be something better.

Waste of money.. severe weather alerts worked when I first got it but no more.. local forecast doesn't load majority of the time. I suggest weatherbug.. more reliable.

It made me pay for the installation of the app and said that my devices are compatible, but after paying and downloading the app it's now conveniently saying that nothings compatible when I've not done anything but try and set up an account. I would like my money back and not to be lied to.

App would be great if it hasn't restarted over 2k times a day! Quite a bummer to have to delete an app you paid for.

I really like how I get warnings and advisories in my area as soon as they are issued. I also think its great how you can watch the live news feeds in the app when they are on. Great feature! It has been very reliable to. My only complaint is-the computer voice is too low during the announcement of the warning/watch and is hard to understand.

I travel around the country and every time I get an alert for my current location it's always for somewhere I was a week or two ago. Customer service keeps telling me to clear the cache but I shouldn't have to do that every day. Since I travel several hundred miles a day I will never know if anything is going on near me unless I clear the cache and I'd have to do that several times a day. It would be better if you'd just fix location services so it knows where I am while I'm moving.

Bought this app a while back and it worked fine for a while. Now when I try to open it, it says that this version not licensed and I need to buy the app. I ALREADY DID!! SO WTH??? It no longer gives notice of impending wx either. Luckily I am signed up for severe wx texts thru another network. I'm not buying it again. Don't waste your money. I've had better luck with FREE apps.

Doesn't work well. My default home location is still a town I pulled up ONCE to check their weather. Can't get it to go away. Also radar is behind. I believe this is the same company that designed the NEW CHANNEL 5 app for the Nashville station. That is is terrible. This company needs to get their stuff together !!!!

I bought this app because I have some Google credits. So I thought I would try it. Biggest waste of money out there. There are so many other apps that I can use to get the same information. Please drop the price to zero!!!

Used to work well all the time but quit last night when I needed it most! Radar map quit Working during tornado watch in my vicinity. Kept quitting on open so I uninstalled it twice next time is permanent

App is slow to open! Does not come close to being as good as the hype from local WPTV says it is! The map runs 6 to 10 minutes behind real time. The local WPTV weather man says it is due to the wifi/cell tower... Howevet the WPBF WEATHER map runs up to the minute of REAL time from my same location. If a FREE APP can be up to the minute... I expect the one I pay for to do so as well!

Upgraded to a Galaxy 5 Note and the app thinks I am in New London, CT when I am actually in northern Kentucky. Can't change it so I am not getting weather alerts. Looking at reviews this seems to be a common problem. I am uninstalling it.

An ongoing problem for the last two years that I've owned this app... the local information is completely inaccurate and is never updated. A complete waste of your money.

Not happy with it. Have yet received a notification of a storm. We got storms in the area. Glad that I aint relying on this app.

With potentially fast moving storms, radar images need to update quicker. In fact the most recent appears to be 3 minutes delayed.

Bought this after hearing about it on the news. Our TV is lit up with bad weather, but the app is silent. So far no audible alerts at all. Maybe I'm missing a setting.

I am lowering my review because in the year+ that I have owned it, there hasn't been any real UI updates and I still have to have a second app to get my widgets. Now that Dark Sky is available on Android, I will be switching to that if they remove their subscription plan and make it a one time purchase like the original apple version.

Not dependable, worked great on my Android device for about a year then stopped receiving alerts, uninstalled/reinstalled several times to no avail. Didn't work on my wife's device last year, then just started working?? Yesterday her phone was going off with alerts and mine never activated (sound or notification).

It will only allow me to use EW Scripps as a local provider and bases my home location in Oklahoma. I am in NJ. It will not allow me to do anything unless i chooze EW Scripps to be my local provider. IT'S A SCAM

For $5.00 and coming from a company like Scripps you would expect a MUCH better product, it won't even recognize my zip code as a real zipcode, then it was blank selection for where you wanted to get your data from. That was just the install... I have weather radios at the house with alarms, but wanting something for the road also... I wouldn't trust this app at this time, seems like a great idea got rushed and shotty programming. DON'T BUY IT YET, I would give a negative 5 if possible...it doesn't give alerts anymore

I had this for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I've just recently downloaded it from the Google Play Store on my new phone it comes in handy especially when you have a power outage

I have the location set and yet I get notified for weather more than 50 mile away from me and never get notified about the weather in my actual location. About to demand a refund for this crap, uninstall and go back to WeatherBug.

This app used to be the best I ever had for weather. When I upgraded to a new phone I was unable to transfer app to the new phone and had to purchase it again. Once I repurchased and downloaded it no longer works correctly and will not play the forecast information for my area. Contacted their customer service/IT department and they claimed they "were aware of the problem and working on it" and then sent me an email a few days later as if they had resolved it but the app still doesn't work. So its pretty much a waste of $4.99 and they are just taking peoples money and not fulfilling the service they promise. Hope I never get caught in a tornado because of Storm Shield... Review that says the "user does not know how to use the app correctly or has bad phone " is probably a plant by the company. Many people are experiencing difficulties with this app...so I would say this reviewer works for Storm Shield. DO NOT GET THIS APP...at least until they get their act together. I AM ALSO CONTACTING THE LOCAL BROADCAST STATION that advertises this app and letting them know that if they do not cancel their affiliation with this app I will no longer support their sponsors. THIEVES!

I have gotten very bad service from channel 7 Strom Alert throught the years. I paid for service and got little. I am leaving. 03/ 14 /16

I get all kinds of weather alerts on this from fire to sever storms. Glad to have it!

I've had Storm Shield for over a year. I wasn't getting weather notifications to my phone so I contacted support via email. I got a respone almost immediately with instructions on how to correct the problem. They even sent a test alert for my phone to assure I was getting notifications. Thank you Scott Werkema for all your help!

This app doesn't work at all. First I couldn't get notifications THEN I would touch the app to get in and it would just take me back to my home screen. If I could get my 3 dollars back I would. App is totally worthless. I wish I had never spent the money. DO NOT get sucked in. There are free apps out there that work much better. Total ripoff.

Initially we received all severe weather notifications on my old Android wireless device. After purchasing a new one, the application does not show weather patterns even though all the notifications are still turned on. There do not seem to be any updates

Awesome Weather Radio for your phone. Follows you wherever you go plus you can track several there locations also to check on weather at friends or family's areas.
