About Waypon - real time GPS tracker
Waypon allows you to see the location of your friends (and yourself) in real time, using GPS technology.
If two people both install Waypon and become friends, they can see each other -
Current locations marked on a map
How long each has stayed at a spot
Speed and direction if he/she is moving
How far is he/she away from you
Location history of recent 15 minutes to 24 hours
Location history of any one of the past 10 days
Distance traveled during selected time period
The flexibility of the app allows you to:
*Add friend using his/her ID;
*Respond to other's invitations;
*Set permissions for your friends to track you, either without limitation or within the next 0 to 9 hours, or no tracking at all. You can modify the permission anytime;
*Remove someone from your friend list;
*Select from 5 languages (English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Japanese), and more to come;
FAQ (User Guide)
How do I get started using Waypon?
After Waypon is installed, it should start immediately. If not, go to the app list and find the Waypon icon and click on it. When it starts up the first time, it asks you to select a language. After that you should register for a user ID, then you can log in.
How can I see the locations of my friends and myself?
Click on the person icon on the top menu bar to bring up a list of friends (and yourself). You are always shown at the top of the list. When you first use this app and have not added any friends, you will be the only one on the list. Tap on an ID to show his/her location history. The default length of history to be displayed is 6 hours, but you can select from a drop-down menu to show the recent 15 minutes to 24 hours, and you can also choose to view the location history of any of the past 10 days. Please note that when you just start to use the app, the past data are not yet available (you need to have used the app for 10 days for you to be able to view the history of 10 days ago, for instance).
How do I add a friend?
Click on the search icon on the top menu bar, and select "Invite friend". You then enter the user ID of the person you want to add. Yes, you need to know the ID of the person you want to invite. Naturally this person should be someone you know very well and trust. If she/he does not have a Waypon ID yet, help him/her to install Waypon and get an ID. After you send the invitation, the person you invite can see your invite by clicking on "View invites", and respond to it.
How do I respond to invites?
To see if anyone has sent you an invitation, click on the search icon and select "View invites", then click on "They Invite Me". If no one is inviting you, you will see an alert which says "no pending invites". Otherwise you will see a list of IDs that have sent you invites - click on an ID to respond. You can accept or decline. When accepting, you can specify how you want yourself to be tracked. You can allow unlimited tracking, or limited tracking (up to 9 hours), or no tracking at all. Your friends will then have the same amount of permission to track you as you have given them.
How do I allow or block friends to track me?
You can change how your friends can track you any time. Click on the search icon on the top menu bar and select "Edit friends". Then pick the friend's ID from a drop-down menu to bring up the details about how you and this friend can track each other. Click on "Change Tracking Permission" to make changes. You can either allow no tracking, or allow unlimited tracking, or allow limited tracking (0 - 9 hours starting now). Please note, however, that this change is NOT mutual. That is, the change you make only affects how they can track you, not how you can track them. For example, if you and friend X cannot currently track each other, and you make the change to allow him to track you, he then can see your location, but you still cannot see his location unless he explicitly makes the change on his device to allow you to track him.
