With the sleek lines of its unibody aluminum enclosure, gorgeous metallic detailing, and completely circular retina OLED display, Waylens has gone beyond the boxiness of ordinary cameras to design a device that perfectly complements the interior of any high-end vehicle. Its video quality is tuned specifically to the challenges of an automotive environment. A gigantic, custom, 7-element lens is nestled within a full metal lens barrel, and its large state-of-art Sony CMOS sensor pairs with a high performance video processor to produce a superior vídeo quality for any situation.

Capture the Whole Story

By combining video with data, the Waylens camera empowers users to tell the full behind-the-wheel story. With a Bluetooth enabled connector tapping directly into the car’s computer, users can record what’s happening under the hood as well as what’s on the road. In addition to performance data from the vehicle, the Waylens camera is loaded with its own suite of advanced sensors, including a 10 Hz, high resolution GPS, a 9-axis motion sensor to show the G forces a car can pull, and dual microphones to capture the symphony of exhaust notes. Data is automatically displayed over recorded video, creating for viewers the closest thing to actually sitting behind the wheel. The touch screen doubles as a user-definable gauge, expanding the dashboard to include any of the available data streams in real time.

Cut the Crap from Hours of Footage

Gone are the days of sifting through hours of footage to find the best clips – the Waylens camera makes it easy to cut the crap. The system leverages the enormous amount of data simultaneously col-lected in parallel with video. The camera’s software can identify the most interesting clips based on the highest G forces or fastest 0-60 MPH accelerations, for example. For those who prefer more con-trol when it comes to editing video, the companion app provides a minimal, yet powerful editing experience. The entire editing process could be smoothly completed without ever transporting the footage and data off the camera’s storage, thanks to Waylens’ powerful tech-stack on the camera.

With this mobile app, a user could

• use the mobile interface as the second screen of the Waylens camera, displaying live video stream and camera status such as GPS/Wifi connectivity, etc.;
• control camera settings, such as muting microphone, adjusting screen brightness, changing video recording resolution, etc.;
• play back recorded videos, either highlighted videos triggered by pressing remote control, or continuous buffered footage;
• edit a sharable video by selecting contents, graphical data overlays, and a musical soundtrack;
• share an edited video on the Waylens network or 3rd-party video hosting platforms.
