Do you have trouble understanding some of your Australian friends? Are you heading Down Under for a holiday? If so, then you may need help understanding some of the unique Australian phrases. Aussie translator contains meanings of many of the common Australian slang phrases, as well as a practical example of their use.
* Aussie Translator contains 700 Australian slang phrases, their common English meanings and a practical example of their use.
* The phrases are dinki di Australian, I was born and live Down Under.
* Search for a particular Aussie phrase you are having trouble with
* Press the 'Random Phrase' button and be surprised by a phrase picked at random.
* Ad supported
* If you have any feedback on the Aussie Translator app, or would like a feature added, please contact me and I'll see what I can do. I am not able to respond to comments left in the User Review section.
I have added audio files for 12 of the example phrases. If an audio file exists for an example phrase, a speaker icon will appear. Press on the icon to hear the phrase.
Phrases with audio files can be displayed by selecting the "Display audio only" menu setting.
If I receive enough interest, I may expand the audio file collection.

I will be going to Australia to finally live a dream I've had since I was a child, so I figured id find something that could lend a hand in understanding the language there, so far (I'm not far into the phrase list) I am impressed with the download. Been a big help, and its honestly fun to sit here scrolling and reading. Good work.

Went to Australia on a Study Abroad and this came in handy! So many of the Aussies were excited to know that I knew their lingo. It's super cute!

Great app for enriching yourself in Australian phrases. Can you add an option to display all words and phrases as a list? I dislike the scrolling through entries manually every time.

This is a good app to use, and quite helpful, but what slang Queenslanders or Victorians use can be very different to what other states might call the same situation or object, but most people will correct you nicely. Overall, very good app.

I love this, its amazing! I've been meaning to catch up on the aussie slang and this is perfect. Only thing I would change, is that this needs a widget! Like it shows a random word on homescreen. Would be a five star if this happens(: oh and we should be able to fave or star words we like
