AT&T FamilyMap uses a number of techniques to determine a phone's location. AT&T phones that have Assisted GPS (A-GPS) return the most accurate locations when they have a clear line of sight to GPS satellites. For phones where A-GPS is not available, FamilyMap uses cell tower information to provide the most accurate location possible, which is usually within a few hundred yards to a few miles of the phone's actual location. This includes non A-GPS phones, as well as A-GPS phones that are not in a clear line of sight to GPS satellites.

It worked during the free 30 days. Then the app says that my account is on hold and suspended. I called 10 times to I.T. Nobody can fix it the last I T. Rep says he put a claim number and said someo e would call me. 1 week later. No call back yet. I got stiffed

Horrible for iphones and even getting close to a location and now it won't give any kind of close location. This app gets worse and worse. Now it gives 10 to 20 mile radius circle. Can't even tell if my family member is home!

Not as accurate anymore. When I first installed this app I could track the phone down to the building that the person was in. I'm not sure if there was some sort of an update now it just gives me a giant Circle indicating a rather large square mile area where they could be. Sometimes it pings off local towers only and I see them 2 neighborhoods over. I'm super disappointed in the app now. I used to love it. Not so much now.

My husband is a truck driver who has asthma really bad. Twice I've had to have Highway Patrol locate him by guessing where he was based on our last communication. No more! I can pinpoint him and send help. This app is a life saver!

Couldn't even get it to download, I would hate to have to depend on it in a emergency siuation!! Soon as I make sure they don't Bill me for it I'm deleting it. I wouldn't use this if the service was free, I'm sure not going to pay $9.99 a month for a service that doesn't work!!!

This app needs to be fix can't get and accurate location like I use to and give me a 5 to 20 mile radius of where the person is.. pay too much for it not to work like it use too.. please fix this soon or will likely cancel if it doesn't work the way it's supposed too!!

I echo what many people say: its a good investment for peace of mind. If you don't have the money for the monthly service fee ($9.99 plus tax) stop paying for candy crush and get it.

Yesterday the accuracy was spot on. The radius of the location circle for my son was the size of our house. He was home all day. Today, the location circle had fluctuated from a 2 - 3 mile radius while he was still home. Accuracy is very poor. Am canceling subscription again and will find something else.

I have tried for over 2 weeks just to log in to this app and have NEVER been able to. It keeps prompting me for a code which i keep receiving texts for but it does not work. It just keeps saying verifying. Whats the point in paying for this if you can't even use it!???

Terrible app. It cannot locate anyone on my list. A waste of $10. So inconsistent and unreliable. Terrible terrible terrible. If my life depended on this app i would be dead. The small updates at&t has done made it a little better however, Still needs improvement.
