T-Mobile FamilyWhere for Android
It's very helpful for locating my granddaughter when she's not brought home by her father when she's suppose to be home. It's not always high accuracy however I've noticed it all depends on if their phone has good signal/good services. If it's poor signal/services it's not very accurate. However it does give me I pretty close area which she's in.
Much better free apps are avilable in play store, like Life 360. On iphone family where gives location acuracy of 3000Yards!!! Where as App like life 360 Gives about 10 yard acuracy both on iphones and androids. T mobile should buy out life 360 Or similar then charge customers.
Very useful in trying to locate family members if you can't reach them. Discovered my mom had made a trip to the hospital and had not had a chance to call me. Even thought the pin point accuracy wasn't good in this particular case, knowing the vicinity did help especially when the area is as big as a hospital. Thankfully she did call when her service improved. The other good thing is the GPS doesn't have to be turned on in the phone you're locating. My mother had her's off and I still found the hospital she was in. Love this app.
I think what people said about phones not purchased directly from T-Mobile maybe true: of the 9 phones in my family account, 4 can't be detected at all, 3 give a pretty accurate location, and 2 give an area of several miles. So, mostly useless.
Can't even get it to start. Just keeps saying problem with my network no matter if im on wi fi or not. Sucks cause i was excited to use it!
Why does it say free and then once you download it - it says it's not free? So deceptive. Iphone has 'Find my iphone' for FREE all the time. Android users need a free app like that. Definitely a negative moving from iphone to android.
I installed the app a week ago then decided to uninstall it. In a rush to get to a wedding 2 hrs away, 10 mins from home my husband couldn't find his phone in the car. Headed back home still couldn't find it. After getting home an hour ago I remembered this app. I reinstalled and the phone indicated his phone was in a neighbors house on the next block. He knocked on their door and they found it on the corner of their lawn. A HUGH thank to Tmobile!
I can't give 0 so giving 1. I can't even get on this thing. Just says authorization failed over and over and over. Uninstalling. No way I'm paying for this. Won't even get the 30 day trial
Put my email address in and got message authorization failed. Tried putting in my husband's email address and got same message. Tried a few more times and kept getting same message, now also saying account is suspended. Can't do anything...totally useless app.
Haha this is a joke!!! Why pay the money if it's not accurate? So glad I didn't pay and got a free month. At first it worked great....gave it a week and it tells me all kinds of different locations. I had my kids with me and it said they were at home and we were miles away!!! Checked location on my oldest and it said medium accuracy for his location and he's in his room!!!! To many errors for me. I wanted it to work so bad and it failed me several times for location my teenager
It shows me my son is somewhere in Queens, or maybe even parts of Brooklyn. At least I know he's in the city...
I downloaded the app but cannot even open it. It keeps say to check my network connection. Very frustrating. I think this app could be useful for me.
Loved the app until it stopped locating a phone on my account. Have tried to submit something to the link provided in past comments for customer support but when I go to submit it it says I don't have authorization. Need help. Have tried uninstalling & reinstalling app but keeps saying the same thing "Phone is not responding, May be out of service area or shut off, Please try again". It says this even with the person sitting right next to me at home. It still locates other phone on account but not this particular phone. It worked great until a couple of days ago. Would like to to be able to fix this problem
The gps that came PRE-INSTALLED on my DRIVETIME car is WAAAAAAAAY BETTER and has a more detailed location than this TMOBILE APP. MotionGPS comes free with my car and is very exact and i can set it to tell me when my car leaves the radius. FAMILYWHERE BLOWS.....the radius is too wide, especially for large cities where there are a lot of places so close together. I need to know exactly what address my kid is ass. NOT A 3 MILE RADIUS!! I LOVE TMOBILE---BUT YOU GUYS NEED TO GET SERIOUS ON THIS LOCATION APP IF YOU WANT US TO PAY FOR IT! Otherwise it SHOULD BE FREE! I knew by my cars gps EXACTLY where my kid was--NOT FAMILYWHERE. Glad I'm only on a 30 day trial.
It's such a rip-off and money grab. Please listen to me and get Life 360 app if you're looking for a good FREE Family Locator. It's SO much more precise than the family where app
Needs serious work. Your using GPS and all these towers and you can't find a phone closer than several blocks to a mile or more away. Totally Useless!!!!! All phones bought through T-Mobile. Maybe it's time after 20+ years to change providers.
I only used it for 4 hours. It is slow and the closest it could get to locating my daughter was 36,000 YARDS. And then t-mobile wants to charge me for it. Pretty useless. I've tried several different location apps and the one by far is the worst.
It tells me to disable WiFi I do then it tells me to check my network connection.. I checked connection but continues to say check connection.. Called and spoke with 2 different IT techs.. Still doesn't work..
Inconvenient when needed. You can't have Wi-Fi on when using it to validate your info, so you have to wait to turn it off and try again. There's no tracking, just checking it. Unless you have a set schedule and set a bunch of reminders set for it to automatically update, you have to go through the tedious process of opening the app, using mobile data to validate, then checking while it updates. Certainly not worth $10 a month, not unless history or tracking can be added or it gets more user friendly.
Long boot time does not identify all phone lines constantly sends me messages of my own phone can now be located by my own phone line. Paid version is nearly impossible to terminate still unsuccessful. Does not locate other device accurately other then my own
Doesn't work. Always unable to locate my husbands phone. His location is on, and he is in the same location, but still continuously searching for him.
Never finds my kids. Gave me a whole city area Of 26 square miles everytime I try and find any of my family. Waste of money every month. Complete garbage.
Have to change my review. Extremely dissatisfied, it used to work well, but every single time I try to use it, if I'm on wifi, it has to verify me, shuts off wifi, then nothing, it just spins. When it does work, it gets within 3000 yards. For this I pay $10 a month? T-Mobile should be ashamed to be associated with this app.
Not impressed. App is a little slow and clunky compared to alternative apps. Being a T-Mobile customer, this should be free. Better-working free apps are available, which means I won't be wasting money on this puppy! If all you need to do is "check in", Glympse blows this one away! Better luck next time T-Mobile. This one's a quick easy delete for me.
This app does say when you first open it that it only provides approximate location for ios devices... if you are lookijng for a good way to monitor your kids on android i recommend My Mobile Watchdog. My parents installed this on my phone and it made me absolutely miserable because there was no way to evade it.
They need to update it so it gets better accuracy. 3000 yards is a wide range. A person could be anywhere. If they were really in trouble it would take hour to locate them because the range is to large.
Great first 6 months or more, now my alerts don't work. I set up alerts for all my kids so that I don't have to do a search while I'm at work. All I have do is look at my history. I went to look and make sure my kids were where they were supposed to be doing what they were supposed to do today and nothing.
Doesn't work. Says my kids are down the street when they're right next to me. Texts me at 3am telling me my kids are at school. Last wk my son had tutoring after school & I texted with him to confirm. He said he was sitting in class but the GPS said he was miles away. So I emailed his teacher & she confirmed that he was in class sitting in front of her. I already called to cancel & representative from TMobile me that this app basically doesn't work. He had heard from other people this same thing I was complaining about. Dont waste your time and money
The first day I installed this app. I received a scam call saying my daughters were kidnapped. Luckily I was able to track my daughter phone and realize it was a scam. After I told the police about my ordeal and how this app saved me thousands of dollars. He copied down the app name and said he was getting it for his family. ????????????????????
Can use fine through Tmobile website, download the app and it won't let me sign in. I can only use it if I am at my computer... Waste of money each month!
Unbelievably accurate! No need to look further. This is the absolute best! The only problem was the disappointment I felt from spending hundreds of dollars on other tracking devices when I had this all along and didn't realize it.
It's terrible. Got it because my daughter was going to Hawaii and if she lost her phone I can track it. Well she lost her phone. I got into the app and my kids didn't even show on my account. After an hour on the phone with T-Mobile I was told that they couldn't fix it and they will have someone else try but it would be 24 hours. I paid for this so if something happened I wouldn't have to buy a new phone. Well in sure in 24 hours when it's fixed I will need to buy a new phone. Worst service ever. Wish I had read the reviews and didn't just trust T-Mobile. Thanks T-Mobile trusting your service just cost me hundreds of dollars.
It is great for finding an Android device but it totally sucks for locating an IPhone. I have have search locations as much as 33,000+ yards for the IPhone. That is useless unless you want confirm what State the person is in.
I pay for 5 lines on my account and it only shows 2. when I go to add the other numbers, it says there are no other lines on my account. well, that doesn't work for me.
For starters it doesn't give me the right time it says Pacific Standard time and I'm not Pacific Standard time I haven't been able to find how to change that I'm Central Time, down in South California. n another is that when the kids turn off the cell phone I'm not able to track them n the reason why they turning off their cell phone because the app keeps on sending them texts saying that being track all the time,,,, so what's the point of being sneaky or trying to find out where they at if the app keep on being so annoyed hurrrrrrrr*&/<%& waste of money thanks a lot,,
Terrible waste of money. Works for a 2 mile radius for kids iPhone, which, while not great, was acceptable. But the Android of my other child won't connect at all now for the last 3 months. I wasted money paying for this junk in hopes I could get it to work. It doesn't!!
There are apps that can do this basic service for free. It's not very accurate most of the time and is very slow like 20-40 seconds to show the location. Definitely not worth $10 a month.
It's great! I can check on my children without calling or texting them in case they are driving, they don't have to worry about answering the phone!
The app appears to be good. I was trying to add family member on separate T-Mobile account to FamilyWhere and it is not possible to do. I tried cancelling and it is not easy to do on phone or computer. Had to call to cancel.

Have had the app for almost two months now. Its ok. However, today being a holiday. No school. The alerts i have set up is for my kid. For when he gets to school and when he gets home. Mind you, there is no school today. Just got an alert saying my kid is at school. Bogus!! I will wait and see if i get another one when he is supposed to be home. If so. Then i will probably cancel.
