Name Generator for Android
would be so much better if you could type in a name and the algorithm choses a name that doesnt change after its been set. eg.. the chosen names for Mak Ramz wont change in all the languages it generates and no other names can take those generated counter parts otherwise you get people sharing the same names. i hope I conveyed my idea well
The best feature of this app besides how awesome each name you pick is, is the fact you can choose country of origin per name. I enjoy this especially when coming up with last names that started in europe and asia instead of america etc. Another feature i love is it comes up with both last names abd first names. First names arent a problem for me, last names definetly are.
Its a handy app especially for novelist like me. Although, its not yet great, please add the meaning of the name (if the specific name that shows up has one). And a favorite section where we can save the names. Lastly, users should be ale to view the previous name that showed upjust in case. That's all I hope this app becomes more productive for its users. Thanks.
I like it, but I don't like the fact that the only customizable part is what origin the name has. I'd like it better if you could type in one name and just get an idea for the other name, and if it had middle names, and if it had options like 'what social group is the name based in', or something like that, and I could put in 'emo' or 'punk' or 'goth', etc. I'll maybe reinstall if it gets these upgrades.
Okay, love this app! Tis awesome! But, also very hilarious. I was looking for male american names, cuz' like, why the hell not. And some really good ones came up! But others... Well, just read them for yourself: Fairfax Saunders, Hadde Cox, Haddle Donnelly, Montague Moss and last but not least.......... ... Salvador House
The app is mainly OK, however, there are some mistakes, at least in the Russian and Jewish names, (I speak both languages fluently and can tell if a name is Jewish or not, and same with Russian). I recommend the users to use the app but not to rely on it too much, and I recommend the authors (publishers) to talk to some real Russian / Jewish people and ask them for the most common names in both cultures. I hope that my review helps, and I wish good luck to the great publishers.
It was ok at best. But I noticed a grammar mistake in the Lithuanian language. When you select female, I get correct female names, but the last names are incorrect because when you read them they are male. But in all honesty I like this app.
Sorry, but I LMAO while reading Russian names. Surnames are ok, but names... where did you even get 'Abnody', 'Avesselom', 'Efimla'? I switched the names for a few minutes, and only got two or three normal names that didn't cause hysterical laugh. Most of these just haven't been used for centuries, some are taken from other cultures (Nail from Arabic, Rustem from ?Caucasian?) and sound very foreign to me, some are diminutive forms (Vanya) which is inconvenient in most cases. Maybe you should take names from 'TOP 100 popular Russian names' or something like that. Well, the point I'm trying to make is that now I can't possibly trust your app, God knows, maybe that happens in all the sections. Sorry.
I'm a little confused on the Japanese and Korean names. Which is the surname and which is the first name? I think it would be helpful if you could tell us which was which somehow.
I love it I like writing and charecters are now easier to create but I was wondering, how do you find the words you "copied" with the copy button ;p also when I do click the copy button a add keeps popping up!!! It is very irritating.
It's a cool app, I just have a problem with the African names. I would prefer it if you separated the different African languages instead of just combining a bunch of names from different languages and saying "African" since the differences in languages can be quite big, so separate the languages and I'll be good
This is perfect, just what I needed and SO much better than the baby names apps (which is mostly what searches yield) with all their unnecessary bells and whistles - I wish more apps would keep things simple like this does
I liked the names. However I suggest if you get to give personality, the comeout will resemble it. Like for kind personality the comeout will be Nathaniel. For bad boy personality it will be Rocco or Ace. Just say'n
It's not bad, but the ads are super obnoxious. If there was an option to pay for an ad-free version, I'd be more than happy to do so.
Damn. Im pretty sure the maker of this app is a potter head. It has names like Jinkins, Dudley, Vernon, Potter,Watson things like that lol. Im triggered
I love to write. I've never finished a book, but a thousand characters live in my head. Now, thanks to this AMAZING app, at least they all have names. ;)
Doesn't have an option for unisex names and doesn't allow you to mix countries or choose all. But it has a good list of names and is useful.
Really really cool. I love it. I have a request : can you add "Martin Coski" in french names ? This is not a real person, it is a french joke (Martin qu'au ski) Thank you :-)
Great at first, but gradually it just repeated the same names over and over again. The Chinese names are also really weird.
Simple, quick, and great name suggestions. This will definitely come in handy for me! Only suggestions I have for improvement is that it would be good if you could select either the first name or surname and keep searching for the other (for example, if you like the first name but want a different surname, and vice versa). Still worth 5 stars though!
It's an absolutely amazing app, I love it! Although there are a few features I wish it had, like a "Favorite" list, so that you can save the names you liked and check them later, or even a small description of the name's origin under it after it is generated, like, where it is from or what it means.
It is very repetitive. It like only has 10 names per language, they need to diversify the name database because 23 want to see more names
Very helpful, but the German names are really really old. I recommend to update those ;D
This is amazing I was playing Madden didn't know what to name my player used this app to good for the boys back home not bad at all if it can give you a good name
Great, but could you add another Irish option? Please? What if I'm making a story and I need a Irish name, but all I can find are those old Gaelic names? I'd definitely uninstall this.
I'm going to give it 5 stars if you guys can definitely knows male's name and female's name. It's different you know! If you guys change it it would be so awesome to know
What? It's supposed to let you type a name, and see its origin, not give me a list of names! I hate it!
Really helpful for naming OC's. I wish it had a first name only option. I'd make my 4 star review into a 5 star review if there was a first name only option
Can you add some south american names, mexican, canadian and australian names? And also sort out the african names.
I'm making a book that has a lot of characters so I use this app for their names. I don't really have problems using this app so it's five stars for me.
It's the best. I liked it. The korean names and the others
Fake app.. All name are fixed.. I am not writien my name
It a useful tool to make name I have been using it for more than 6 months and hasn't gave me any trouble
I'm PRETTY sure you are missing Canada (Or Canadian. I don't know. I'm not really an expert.)
@B Farewell You're right lmao. I tried my country names and they were kinda " oldie" or not even heard of those.
I use this for roblox star wars roleplay.
STUPID DONT WASTE YOUR STORAGE OR TIME
It'd be great if you split the African names into various countries because Africans do not have similar names.
This has helped me a lot with my writing, but I was wondering if you could add Marshallese names, if you know any. This is an awesome app though!

I cannot attest to the accuracy of other countries, but Africa is the second largest continent(after Asia), almost as big as Europe and North America put together. It is also the most diverse continent, with 54 countries... So you see the problem there for example. Mohammed Chang would be a valid Asian name, but it is a very unlikely name(Arabic first name, Chinese surname), so is Jean Eduardo (French and Spanish) even though both France and Spain are both European. That is how it looks when you group such a massive Africa as one.
