Auri (Voice Reddit and RSS) for Android
I liked it it does what I need. I wish I could get a smoother voice but it's not bad at all
It's perfect for listening to reddit while I drive and work.
It doesn't work properly with Reddit.
It's a good start. It's buggy and crashes a lot... Ex, clicking the like button at the top. The music is horribly annoying and repetitive with only the option to turn off the jazz crap while the app reads, but not the "DVD like" menu music which is annoying. The app also doesn't stop readings or playing that annoying music when a call comes through. Another improvement would be remembering your position on the very long list of sub Reddit posts when you return from a "radio". Having to stroll down endlessly again and again to get to where you were is just poor ux. Option to kill music completely, remember position and mute on calls and I'll consider paying for this app and giving it a good rating.
My biggest problem with this app is figuring out how to make it work. When I start it, it flashes a generic "login failure" message. But it doesn't have a settings screen (that I can find, anyway) to enter my username and password. It plays background music while reading (annoying as hell!) that can't be permanently turned off. Setting up an RSS feed seems easy, but then it doesn't seem to be able to actually get the data. Once I actually thought I succeeded with giving it an RSS feed, it showed the number of articles and then... nothing... it shows the STOP icon as if it's reading, but nothing is coming out. Where is the user forum to ask the developer questions?
I love the concept, but the app does need a bit of polish. The app has asked me to review it very early though, so haven't fully experienced it.
A lot of the links result in errors and dont work. Links I added dont work. Can only listen to front page, cnn, and a handful of others.
Unable to connect
This is a great app but it has some rough edges. For example, after reading a thread and hitting the back button, you get stuck on a loading screen. It force closes from time to time as well. But don't let that stop you from trying this app out. It's an awesome concept, one which will probably become a part of a lot of people's daily routine.
Too much fluff, but hard to get it working on my favorite subs
When I try to add RSS, get error "don't include HTTP://", even when I don't include I get this error. So I'm stuck listening to the included feeds. Disappointing, the app seems well designed otherwise but unusable as is.
This app is very helpful, I'm visually impaired so listening is faster than reading for me. It does need a lot of improvement though, the constant errors and background music looping need to be improved.
You can even change voices!
Reddit comment section is no longer being read.
Great design ... Still needs some work but awesome start
Use it everyday !
extremely frustrating to use, plus it costs money
In the near-appless world of tts reading comment threads, no other app comes close to this one. it parses reddit perfectly... which it usually does on the 2nd or 3rd try. sometimes on the 9th or 10th. be persistent and this app will save you hours of reading. its great for long drives and to listen to while puttering chores around the house.
Fantastic! I can listen to reddit comments all day.
Driving and laughing
Magnifique
I can imagine going on R/gonewild would be fun with this.
Needs some polish and refinement. Needs a way to read only to level comments or to select how deep to go because some comment chains drag on and in many dozens of levels deep and go completely off topic. Most/all the reedit all's have that as an option.
This app does exactly what it says on the tin: it reads out comments from your favorite websites. There are some nitpicky ui problems though. For example, reddit stories show the score but not the number of comments(so a story with lots of votes but few comments is deceptive), and the hard limit of 200 comments read can't be passed. A bit more user testing would go a long way, but despite the tough edges on the ui, this is one of my most used apps on my phone.
You can even change voices!
Very interesting way to consume Reddit. I'm not sure how to read the op, but since I normally don't anyway, this has been perfect. Glad to see developers considering other senses for content consumption!
That background music only mutes temporarily when I click the notes icon... how do I disable it permanent?
Does what it says on the tin.
A++ will listen again
Love being able to catch up on the news hands free. Developer extremely responsive to requests. I had trouble adding a feed. My email was answered within minutes. I recommend this app for anyone who wants/needs their rss/reddit in audio format.
great to sit back and listen to feeds!

Wish there was a simpler way to add RSS feeds. Also wish I could read my PDFs through the app
Working great!
They are stilling the money with the upgrade and cannot refund, be aware of this.
Sweet, finally an rss reader to voice. Thank you
Great idea, its just really fun to use for AMA's. Is it possible to change the voice from saying "OP" to "ohpee"?
Love it. Got Tasker to launch the app every morning when I wake up & listen while I "work". And the devs actually listen to their reviews! Bravo!
Lots of potential that the devs will take the code and run with it. Have auri recite r/thesimpsons or circlejerk. Hilarious. Excellent idea!

The concept is good. But a lot needs to be done. For example, it keeps on crashing.when I try to provide feedback from within the app it crashes. For Reddit, it will read only one message and then you have to again click for it to read the next message. If I have to keep on clicking then the entire reason for audio is lost. I hope this is not a restriction due to RSS. I should have actually given it one star but I want the developers to continue working on this. It has also got excellent potential as assistive Technology. For example I used it to listen to my Twitter feed for a particular topic. Please please make this work. Right now it is actually unusable for an average person then only people who are really interested in this will explore it. And please turn off the music. At least by default it should be turned off with an option to turn on if necessary. You can probably do a all but I am reading the comments and most people do not like the idea of music. Instead of the music please put a lot more effort on usability and hopefully people and of course I will pay for it good luck
