This app is for professional commercial United States drivers who are required to keep a Daily Drivers Log, or log book as it's known, to assist them in maintaining a current, accurate recap. This is not a log book application, it only calculates the recap section based on the ON DUTY hours entered. Since I am not familiar with the transportation laws in other countries, I cannot say if Recap would be appropriate for drivers outside the USA. Canada recently changed its HOS laws, so this free version of Recap is no longer compatible for Canadian drivers. Thanks to Alfred E Nueman for pointing this out. The new apron version I am working on will fix this limitation.
Using Recap is super easy! Simply enter the ON DUTY hours (by adding lines 3 & 4 of your log book) and indicate if this day ends a 34 hour restart. Recap does the rest by calculating and displaying the values needed for the other three columns, 1) Total hours on duty last 7 days, 2) Total hours available tomorrow, 3) Total hours on duty last 8 days. No more frustration trying to remember which lines to add up and which to subtract from to get your log book recap filled in! And no more mistakes! This is especially beneficial to new drivers!
Currently, Recap only supports the 70 hours in 8 days variation log book. However, if there is enough interest in the 60 hours in 7 days variation, it will be added.
Recap keeps the ON DUTY hours entered for the current day and the previous 14 days. Currently, there is no support for history. If there is enough interest, it will be added.
Recap is not intended to be used on very small screen devices with screen resolutions below 320x480.

Recap will initially install to internal memory, but can be moved to SDCard from Home screen/Settings/Applications/Manage applications/Recap.

It is not in full compliance with hours of service rules. Once you do restart it means clearing out manually all previous days. Must be fixed.

I prefer the Recap version since on that one I can enter the current day hours. I just uninstalled Recap+ because I don't have that option in that version. Added: this program saved me from issues. When my boyfriend scanned our logs he put 3 dates backwards & I didn't realize it until the numbers weren't coming up right 4 days later. Using Recap helped me straighten it out fast. Luckily I was always correct on my A,B, and C because I copied them from the program, it was just the hours for the last 8 days

Awsome app. I work in the tx oilfield we only have to do a 24 hour restart but I can are it work with how it's set up but it would be nice if it displayed a month instead of 15 days because we come in half way through the month or end of the month. I haven't used it used it yet but from playing with it it is really cool I hope if it resets itself it keeps the previous hours that were on it for the next list

I appreciate the app the only thing needs to be fixed is the first 2 date of the hours will not add up an it only give us 9 days off the recap throughout the month please fix it thanks

Love the app and can't wait for the Canadianized version. Have a spreadsheet version but have to wait til I get home to use it. As for the nay sayers, when is the last time they looked at a log book? It's in 15 min increments, DUH!

Have recap and recap+. I have to switch back and forth from line haul to city often. Use one for 60 other for 70. Both are great apps no complaints at all. They do what the say. And Are Easy To use.

Maybe I missing something or maybe nobody has caught this. When you start out fresh with no hours for the last 7 days and you enter your hours for the the day you started, your recap should read 0, 70, 0 not what it supposed to read on the next day. To get around this would be confusing. You would either have to put your hours on the next days line in order for your recap for that day to read correctly. Or you would have to just read the recap from the day before. In either case, its confusing.

Please adjust this so it's more precise with the times. I run elogs so it's exact down to the minute not 15 min increments. For example 9.48 min on duty time can't be added.
