Will not play videos on Nvidia Shield Tv.

Chromecast support is terrible, the streams are slow(works fine on other streaming apps). After video playback the screen goes black and you have to exit and restart to fix it. Also if you forgot to press the chromecast stream button you have to press a button to change to portrait mode and then you can press the chromecast button. This makes for a clunky user interface and just plain bad design. This is all too bad because the content has been good so far.

This was a great app and worked beautifully until I tested it on a Shield TV running Android 6.0. Unfortunately there's no sound when videos play anymore. Hopefully this gets fixed in an update.

The app needs more tuning. It stops playing even though the phone is connected to a wifi. It happens regularly. I have used 2 different wifis with 3 diffrent devices. 11/24/15 update: it's getting better!! Thx alot

Please add the ability to be able to move the App to the SDcard. Chromecast Video Play: if i play a video in chromecast, and my phone locks [because of screen lock time], or if i open another app, the next video won't play [in other words, the app will stop]. Make it so the app keep on playing the videos. Please fix. Thank you.

What happened to Chromecast continuous streaming? It used to play all suggested videos from just selecting the top one. Also Chromecast only works if I connect it while playing a video. If I connect before that i get an error. Update, Chromecast even worse than before, cannot stream at all anymore, lg g2

News content is great! But, streaming with chromecast is pretty bad. As someone mentioned earlier, automatic playing of videos when selecting the first video doesn't work consistently.

Please add the ability to be able to move the App to the SDcard. Also, when playing a video: if phone' screen locks, or app is minimize to open another app, the app won't cast (play) the next video. It just stops playing (in chromecast). Thank you...

Great for keeping up on news on android tv but it crashes sometimes on nexus player. If this isn't eventually fixed I will lower my rating and uninstall it.

This app has been greatly improved. Only thing that I would like to see in the future is a landscape home screen for tablets.

Good app. Good content. Plays fine on Chromecast. Needs autoplay (auto advancing to the next video) and a non-static standby screen to prevent screen burn-in.

There's an option to only download on WiFi, yet this app used over a gig in background data before I caught it and throttled it with the phone settings. What's up with that? That's money out of my pocket.

Much better now. Casts to chromecast and no ad issue now. It needs to cast video continuously to chromecast now. Back in June 2014 I posted.. It automatically plays an ad and then starts playing a video. No menu and no option to cast to chromecast

This has me beat. Video starts playing at the outset and - that's it! No choices, no casting, nothing but on or off. I don't get it. It sure doesn't match the description.

I think the post is on to something here. There really isn't anyone out there doing this right now, with Chromecast.

Browsing videos and playback are too tightly integrated. Needs to be YouTube style functionality.

K70%

YouTube has established a kind of norm for video content in which entities (such as PBS, for example) provide a listing of potential stories and let the viewer decide which are worth watching based on titles. "Post TV" provides no such list of titles - - only vague categories that don't change ("editors picks," etc.). The result is that you are forced to roll the dice and wade into a vague category & sit through ads before the story itself begins to play. And if the story is one you are not interested in, too bad. You can only back out, choose another vague category, sit through its ads and hope the unrevealed story finally reveals itself as one worth watching. Frankly, time spent on SiriusXM's POTUS or other news channels or, better yet, a YouTube curated channel like PBS Newshour will deliver far more content for the minutes invested. Message to Post TV producers: You can't deliver my eyeballs to your advertisers if you purposely bury the titles of your stories. I'm only willing to play find the treasure so long before I give up and leave entirely. (Uninstalling this now.)

Automatically playing videos are pretty annoying; there should be an option to turn that feature off. Also, while using Chromecast the audio of the ad plays on the phone while video plays on the TV. Video previously playing also plays in the background. The video quality, however, is very good and there seems to be no buffering. Could be a great app.

Downloaded the app after the Chromecast announcement... Clicking the cast button does nothing though, and the video still plays on my mobile. (Rebooting the Chromecast has now allowed casting to work. More stars added!)

Installed this a few months ago because of the Chromecast support. I haven't opened the app up in the last month but it managed to use up 18gigs of background data in the past 28 days! I'll have to uninstall this....

I haven't opened this app for a month and for my surprise it was dragging my wireless data, 2.5 GB in one month without watching anything. If you see the graph usage it show something is constantly using the data.

A deeper archive of stories would be great. Glad I can Chromecast the segments now.

Y70%

but your brand isn't such that you can just call it "Post" and expect people to have any idea of its association. Yes, i refer to the publication as _The Post,_ but it just doesn't translate here, as it is. I guess you'll have to compensate using precious ad space directing people to the app. And that icon.. So, what's the significance of that graphic to _The Washington Post,_ again? Sorry to bash you guys, but i just don't get it. Okay, rant fin (tldr?)

For some reason it uses a TON of data when it's not open. This is the only news video app for Chromecast, so you're pretty much stuck with it. I decided I can't handle it anymore and deleted it. It's constantly disconnecting, crashing, dual playing on my phone and tv, and the news stories aren't even very good quality when they do play.

Y70%
by Y####:

Video quality is very low. Not sure why. It's a video based app. Also, app should allow you to play on a continuous flow. Has potential because it has good stories.

Love the app itself but even when I don't open it all day, it still uses 10% of my battery.
