walkit.com for Android
Used this for the first time to find a nice walk in a city I was visiting. It directed me to some fairly dangerous parts of town...
Was hoping to use this to plott my own routes, not just go from a-b. It also doesn't register some footpaths so you're always walking by the road.
Doesn't even cover where I live so a wasted 1.99
What would make this app brilliant if you can literally choose what roads you want to walk round. For me i walked a route and wanted to know the distance it was. My nearest city wasnt even an option to pick.
Couldn't use the app as it didn't have any walk for my town.
This used to be useful on the move as I do a lot of urban walking. However, it seems to be difficult to get the app to recognise places/landmarks and the search facility is poor. Either does not recognise anything about your search term(s) or brings up irrelevant "matches". Map tiles often grey out when you're scrolling/zooming on a route. Google has got much better at walking routes since I bought this app so I tend to use that now.
Tried to get directions from Birmingham New St to Birmingham Moor St and constantly received pages for Coventry, Dudley and so-on. Absolutely no Birmingham directions. Going for my refund!
There are more accurate up to date free apps out there, this is a bad map of London!
I paid only to find it doesnt cover my area .
Not good, can't do from , to, keeps asking me to choose a city.... not worth it.
I love walk it! Great ap. I love this ap. Love it.
Hoped for a print capability
Wasn't helpful
I have used the paid for version of this application twice and it found both of the railway stations I was starting from and both of the destination post codes so I don't know why an earlier reviewer had problems because I certainly did not though I was searching in the London area but, as the application also covers Birmingham it shouldn't matter and it doesn't as I have just tested it & it works fine. I haven't given a 5 star rating as I want to be able to print out the route, not wishing to be mugged.
Walkit used to be good but now, the first address I tried, it couldn't find at all. The second place, it found but the directions were out of date. Mentioning buildings that had been demolished years ago. not worth buying as an app
"Birmingham New Street Station" gained the response "insufficient information"! I should have read all the other negative reviews before wasting my money. Do not waste your money on this non-functioning app
Provides no sense of direction. Which way to walk? Voting with my feet, I'm out.
Disappointed. I have enjoyed the web version and long looked forward to not printing out the directions. The new app is a modest start. Fair enough but it should have been modestly priced. The maximum zoom level is far too small, making road names almost illegible. Perhaps the developer needs to take it out for a walk themselves.
How can you rate an App that doesnt work. Ive contacted the developer to request a refund with no reply. Totally a waste of money DO NOT BUY and absolute disgrace!
Does not recognise railway stations post codes and many street names. Use desktop version on PC instead that version IS useful
I love walk it! Great ap. I love this ap. Love it.
This app would be 100 x better if it would sync with your online walkit account. As it stands it's a mediocre nav app.
Maps are detailed enough, but I couldn't work out how to zoom in, so held it to my face for most of my walk. Couldnt work out if I could force GPS to stay connected even if phone locked? Doesn't sink with online profile.

not very good Walkit used to be good but now, the first address I tried, it couldn't find at all. The second place, it found but the directions were out of date. Mentioning buildings that had been demolished years ago. not worth buying as an app
Finally! I love walk it! Great ap. I love this ap. Love it.

Should be able to choose between different routes from one address. Going to get tired of doing the same route again and again...
