About NFC Tools - Pro Edition

NFC Tools is an app which allows you to read, write and program tasks on your NFC tags and other RFID compatible chips.

NFC Tools Pro Edition includes additional features such as profiles management and many others.
Save your tags or tasks profiles to reuse them later. Export and import easily.

NFC Tools Pro Edition allows you to import your records or tasks directly from an existing NFC tag.
You can edit your tag very quickly. Also you can run directly your tasks profile without NFC tags
And of course, other exclusive features will be coming.

All you need to do is get your device close to an NFC chip to read the data on it or execute tasks.

Simple and intuitive, NFC Tools can record standard information on your tags which will be compatible with any NFC device.
For instance, you can store a VCARD to share your contact details easily, open an URL, share a phone number or even a geolocation.

But the NFC Tools app goes further and allows you to program tasks on your NFC tags in order to automate actions that were once boringly repetitive.
Turn on the Bluetooth, set an alarm, control the volume, share a WiFi network configuration and so much more.

For example, a simple motion with your phone in front of your NFC tag before going to sleep and the WiFi will turn off, the phone will switch to silence and your alarm will be set for the next morning, all by itself.

Quite practical, isn't it?
For the most tech-savvy of you, the geeks :) preset variables, conditions and root tasks are also available so you can create more complex actions.

Make your life easier with more than 100 tasks available and infinite combinations.

The "Read" tab allows you to see data such as:

- the maker of the tag
- the type of tag (ex : Mifare Ultralight, NTAG213)
- the norm of the tag (ex : NFC Forum Type 2)
- the available technology (ex: NFC A)
- its serial number (ex : 04:85:c8:5a:40:2b:80)
- the size of the tag and of the data on it
- if you can write on the tag and if the tag can be locked as read only
- all the data on the tag (NDEF format)

The "Write" tab let you record standardised data such as:

- a simple text
- a link to a website, a video, a social profile or an app
- an email
- a contact
- a phone number
- a predefined text message
- an address or geolocation
- a WiFi or Bluetooth configuration
- personalised data.

The write function allows you to add as much data as you wish.
This way you can record large quantities of information on your tag.

Other features are available under the "Other" tab, such as copying, erasing and password protecting your NFC tag.

The tasks allowing you to automate your phone are under the "Tasks" tab and are categorised.
Here are a few examples of the available actions:

- activate/deactivate/toggle WiFi, Bluetooth, car mode
- configure a sound profile: silent/vibrate/normal
- change brightness
- set volumes levels (media, alarm, notification, ring volume)
- set a timer
- launch an app
- open an URL/URI
- send a text message or make a call
- read aloud a text with text to speech
- configure a WiFi network
- and much much more!

NFC Tools has been tested with the following NFC tags:
- NTAG 203, 210, 212, 213, 215, 216
- Topaz 512 (BCM512)
- Ultralight, Ultralight C
- MIFARE Classic 1k, 4k
- FeliCa

Does not read nfc tags reliably. Most nfc records require binary data and the editor only allows you to enter ascii. I am trying to write a record with binary data to a tag for testing purposes and I can not do so. I even bought the pro version so that I could copy a profile from a tag and write that profile to another tag. The copy is incorrect. The binary data in the tag is read incorrectly and once again I am unable to correct it.

Doesn't work with most of the nfc tags i have, and with the one type it does work (reads only the serial number) it cannot do anything (read/write). The app guides you to buy pro, but in fact it's useless, at least for me.

App is good. But I can't get play or toggle play pause music to work. Pause music works perfectly but music never gets played or resumed Every other function I tried Bluetooth / pause / open app / ... Worked. Would give five stars but really wanna play music

Y70%

I like the app, I can't do anything with the expand notification shade feature. Or the play pause command. And can we get a flashlight that had no on screen pop-up??

Y70%
by Y####:

The app works great. Can you add a condition that checks if a certain wifi network is available.

T70%
by T####:

Great nifty app (comes with a side app). Bought the pro version.

Y70%
by Y####:

Great app for NFC automate. I wish it could implement enabling/disabling VPN through the Shadowsocks app in the same way as with the OpenVPN one. Also, option to use non writable NFC tags (hotels, debit cards, etc) to trigger tasks would be great. I liked so much the free version that I decided to get this one for the added functionality.

Import records from tag feature not working. I'm trying to use import records from tag feature in write with a Mifare Classic 1k tag. However, It just saying "Approach an NFC Tag" and nothing happens besides playing the nfc tag detect sound.

Awesome developer! I initially had problems writing to the NFC tags I purchased, but the dev responded quickly to my support request and provided me with a fix. While waiting for the fix, I tried some similar apps, but none had the functionality of this one. Now, it works great and I highly recommend NFC tools and it's developer!

Simple and full of features that really works!

Y70%

The free version of this app is perfect for my needs. If you're on the fence about an NFC writing app, get the free version of this app. I wanted to support the dev, so I bought the paid version. If it's useful to you, you should do the same.

This app is awesome very user-friendly

It works. It is simple to use. Nicely done. Was able to program a tag to pause spotify music playback. This is quite handy when leaving the house. Used the NFC Tools Pro app by wakdev to write a 'pause music task' to a tag. Have a copy of NFC Tasks app by wakdev to the read the tag and execute the 'pause music task'. Note that the screen must be on for NFC Task app to read and execute the task on the tag, this is probably an Android requirement.

Y70%

One note, is if the Contact one could import from my current contacts along side of just typing it.

Y70%

Good free version made me want to support this. And the extra pro features are mostly just conveniences. Very good model and very good app.

Could not write to NFC tags before. So called support. They thought the problem was with the phone and are sending me a replacement. In the meantime NFCTools created a work around and now I can write to NFC tags! Now I just have to figure out what to do with the replacement phone Google support is sending me.

T70%
by T####:

I try to use import records from tag feature in write. However, It just say again "loaded!" but I can't see anything about loaded data.

Y70%
by Y####:

Have been using this for a while now. Best NFC app I tried, and I tried a lot, plus it gets updated frequently. It is a little awkward to write the scripts, but it works. (I'd love to see an external editor) The only thing I'd add is a multiple choice conditional instead of just a yes/no.

Y70%
by Y####:

No tags work with pixel xl until you read the tag from another phone first

Y70%
by Y####:

It writes faster than other tools I tried, and error rate is very very low. I never get a read/write fail. It would be nice if it had a "share" action to make quick tags from URLs and such.

D70%
by D####:

I write my NFC and MIFARE wearables and stickers, so the phone automatically performs tasks and change profiles while on car, on desk, on bed, connecting our disconnecting with peripherals on every instance. Makes my life easier. With pro I managed to create small "scripts" for all important situations. Great, great, deserves every penny.

Y70%

Best NFC app today in the Play store, but some things missing. Have messaged the app developer about a very useful simple additions to the app... additions not coming.

Works perfectly on my HTC One M9. Using cheap NFC cards from China I can create/edit customers cards ..

Great idea and realisation

Y70%

It works and has a nice UI. It isn't a whole lot better than the free version but I don't really mind paying for it. The tasker companion app is quite nice too, though it's only especially useful if your device is rooted.

Y70%
by Y####:

Upgraded to pro to get advanced features, but some are still a mystery. Send an intent, what does it do. I have to constantly reverse engineer to figure out what the developer assumed was obvious. It would help if the task description was not identical to the name.

Y70%
by Y####:

The "is playing music?" condition will not work with Pandora as well as others. I couldn't get Pandora to pause and play either. Really cool app tho. Please add Pandora compatible tasks!

P70%
by P####:

I just bought the pro version of this app to be able to use the profile feature, but I'm unable to read tag to create profile. When I use read tag the tag is read normally, bit with read to create a peofile, the same tag is not read? Is that a bug? Or did I miss something? I want also use the feature emulate tag, this is why I'm interested to create a profile from a tag.

Still not what i was looking for. Im lookig for something that i can read a tag in to my phone and use my phone as the tag. I have multipile tags on my keys. My phone is always with me so i whant to us my phone nfc to emulate a tag. Is that posable?

Y70%

Great application that has served me well over the years. Pretty much an all in one place for managing tags/performing actions based on those tags. Plus the new beta feature of emulating an NFC tag works great on the 5X.
