The android app has been able to connect to my Kickr only a handful of times since I owned it (about a year now). It has never been able to connect to my Tickr. Finally gave up and put it on my iPad which worked in seconds and updated my firmware.

S70%
by S####:

Doesn't recognize its own hardware When I try to connect and pair a genuine wahoo tickr purchased from the wahoo website, it says "unknown heart rate monitor". Man I wish I would've bought a Garmin or a Runtastic Monitor. Wahoo is terrible.

V70%
by V####:

Can't register wahoo kickr snap. Can't perform a spindown. Neither have worked for months. Obviously not an issue for wahoo. Most of the online support seems to be for iOS sadly.

Update: No more drops and disconnects. Changing from 3 to 5 stars. Would still like to see a battery indicator in the form of a widget, and I wouldn't mind if the device were black instead of such bright colors, but I can live without it since there are so many things it does do well. Previous Review: I have a TICKR X which might or might not be working as advertised. There's definitely something wrong in the chain between the TICKR X and my workout app and I have been trying to narrow it down. The app developer (icardio) is blaming hardware... but that could also be the phone and/or the chest strap. Since there is no battery level indicator on this app for the TICKR X, I have no idea whether it is the problem, so I have replaced them a few times now. I have also replaced the chest straps a few times with different brands. I am still getting drops while I workout. I also get drops while testing my HRV and other cardio apps, so there's that. Anyway, two things the app could do that it doesn't is give the battery level and whether the firmware is up to date without having to check the website. I will change the rating if those features are added.

If access to location and media is not given, the app doesn't connect to anything. What's next, my social? Until this is fixed, this is a worthless app. Shame on you Wahoo!

U70%
by U####:

Used to give battery level on TICKR hrm (even if it did report 100% all the time!), but now doesn't show battery level at all. So what's the point?

Newer version seems to work well!....I love my Wahoo kit!

The latest update finally made it finish

Bare bones utility app for sensors that works. Had to figure out to activate my RPM cadence sensor first (a good shake to wake it up) before it would detect and be able to update. Works well.

E70%
by E####:

Doesn't work correctly. I downloaded this to conduct a firmware update on a cadence sensor: it pairs but always loses connection before completing. Wahoo are quick to reply to postings here and direct you to 'start a ticket'. You do that, they reply with a fix that doesn't work, you tell them it hasn't worked, they don't offer any further help or advice. Not even a 'we're working on it and will get back to you'. I would give this one star, but there is always the chance it is the sensor's error. Still, am disappointed with Wahoo's communication and, essentially, ignoring the issue after one weak attempt at fixing it. This app looks like it could be useful when upgraded, but generally avoid it until then. Update: I need to use this app to update the firmware on the Wahoo cadence sensor due to it being intermittent at best, but it doesn't work. Wahoo's wording blames my phone (see their reply below 'We've had reports of Bluetooth issues with this model phone') rather than their app. As above, they reply first time and then ignore you completely after that if their one suggested fix doesn't work. Originally two stars, now one for awful customer service.

Does what it's supposed to do which is link wahoo Bluetooth LE sensors and update firmware. App is bare bones.

U70%
by U####:

Does not work, try upgrade the firmware for my speed and cadence sensor. it can discover but when you select the sensor it can not see the current firmware.

U70%
by U####:

Unable to update firmware with this app, I emailed wahoo and they told me the app doesn't work and to uninstall it, just use the Kickr with old firmware. I do love the Kickr, just not this app...

U70%
by U####:

Utility now won't even recognise the snapr. Its picking up a kickr from somewhere. Had the snap two weeks and haven't been able to use it as this app won't calibrate it properly... when it does calibrate i can barely ride it.

U70%
by U####:

Did a spindown on my kickr snap now the watts are really low, so thought id do an advanced spindown but its disappeared so what do I do now??? My brake strength is now 0.84 sure it was a lot higher before.

S70%

Can't find firmwares on the internet. Solution: just use a different mobile phone....Doesn't work with all phones.

Real world tracking for several of my activities including cadence. It works!

Why my spin down is always failed?

V70%
by V####:

After update no longer able to complete a spin-down. Crashes on two different devices. Geez.

U70%
by U####:

After the 5/25/17 update I was able to install the cadence firmware updates using my Nexus 6P phone. Thanks

U70%
by U####:

If you own a kickr 2 and it is working, then DO NOT UPDATE IT with the latest firmware version 3.3.53. I did &now have £900 worth of useless junk. Really shoddy coding.

P70%
by P####:

Moderately pleased. It's an effective bike tool but needs a spindown in the middle of many rides when it loses tension. I've read the FAQs and reinstalled the app but it still reads "requires update" when just installed?? For $1200, and reading the many issues online, with all due respect Wahoo needs to up their game or their business model will be going south pretty quickly.

N70%
by N####:

UPDATE: I bought the cadence sensor pod for cycling. So that's fine. But . . . I can't update the firmware of my Tickr Run. It won't do it. Galaxy S5 Active. Android 4.4.4. Why would this happen? Is it a battery problem? I lost it and now I found it. But I can't use it.

U70%
by U####:

March 1 update broke it. I should have read other reviews before accepting update... If you see these reviews before accepting update - DON'T DO IT. Now utility will not connect to ANY of my Wahoo devices. Complete failure. From the looks of other reviews and posts online, Wahoo support is completely useless. I guess we'll see an update to actually fix this whenever the devs get around to it.

U70%
by U####:

Spin down failures... Might open a ticket but from the looks of other reviews, it's not promising.

O70%
by O####:

Utterly useless! 2 updates at the beginning of the year rendered my kickr useless. (First, wattage was off the scale, I had become a pro overnight! The 'fix' resulted in too much brake so pedalling was impossible.) Response from Wahoo, revert to old software. This 'resolve' was allegedly a good thing as I could reverse what they'd broken rather than wahoo actually fix it. Given up with support, I don't trust their updates and certainly wouldn't perform an advanced spin down ever again.

U70%
by U####:

Works now on Nexus 5X. Previously had to use an old Nexus 4 to upgrade firmware and carry out spin down test. All working fine on the latter device now.

U70%

Terrible. Trying to calibrate a Kicker 2 on Android? Forget it. This app is worthless. Come on Wahoo, fix this.

U70%

This app doesn't even perform the spindown. WTF?

U70%
by U####:

I have received a failed spindown message for the past two weeks on my Kickr2 via a Samsung Galaxy S5. Wahoo support was contacted but the only feedback I received was to clear all other Bluetooth connections, which I did, to no avail. Also tried the Wahoo Fitness app, still no luck.

C70%
by C####:

Won't launch and keeps saying it's trying to locate devices. The forums talk about other apps or devices interfering but in this day and age, that's unacceptable and indicative of lazy coding.

A70%
by A####:

I have the top end kickr and this app now thinks I have the snap and repeated attempts at do an advanced spin down have failed. Now my power numbers are screwed!! SORT THIS OUT!!!!

U70%
by U####:

I've got 2 open tickets now with Wahoo Support. They have partially replied to the 1st ticket and I tried their suggestion to no avail, I've only raised the second ticket about 6 hours ago....but I've had no reply as yet (I even tried phoning..but that was painful) The 'Spin-Down' fails both in the utility app and indeed even in 'Trainerroad'. It's a shambles...just what in the hell is going on. I've switched to my older Tacx trainer. Very, very poor Customer Relations. It's now time to post universally on the various cycling social media sites.

I'm trying to update to the latest firmware 3.3.x.x but mine is still on 3.2.51. Also the spin down shows fail more often than not :-(
