Wahoo Fitness: Workout Tracker for Android
Ive used endomondo scence 2010. This app and equipment work wonderfull together. And for indoor treadmill i give it a A++ over any app and i am die hard endomondo. Wonve you calibrate it.. it works Awsone. Next best thing to real running with true gps stats. A++ And all intetgate to my fitness pall.. were all come together. All app you use. I use endomondo, wahoo and fitbit charge 2. All is uploded and intergrated. So on the end.. i just pull up my fitness pal and thete it is. Then each of the three apps i use, i can digg deep into each for down and dirty ststs. Awsome!!
Since 24 January I have not been able to connect my Tickr to my Huawei phone. The blue tooth device picks up and pairs and the device and links. It shows my heart beat at the point where you save the sensor but will not pick up the heart beat when you go into the app to start the walk. It was working perfectly before.
I'd rate it a lot higher than 2 stars but the lack of Google Fit integration really drags this app down. This is the ONLY app on my phone that I have to keep updating with my weight. All other apps get it from Google Fit. Also, having to push my workouts to an intermediate app like Strava just so that Strava will upload my workout to Google Fit is a pain. I honestly really just need to find a different app for tracking my workouts and sharing that with Google Fit.
Used to be great until I swipe over to the map and im always in africa or somewhere in the indian ocean. Have to hit the location button to snap back to where my blue dot is. The map also used to have the red line that showed route traveled. No more of that either. The map is the only feature that needs fixes!
Loved this app until today. I am 50 miles short of completing a 300 mile charity cycle challenge and yesterday completed 246 miles, today gone out again and went to start app and it showed only 209 miles completed. Luckily I have a screen shot showing correct mileage and of completed work outs. Really not happy!!!!!!
Ok so thought this app would be utter rubbish. I was wrong, but it's not amazing. I like that i can share to loads of other running apps that i use but beyond that its just lacking in details for me. I couldn't easily work out my split times until i exported it to Nike+ etc and the interface isn't all that intuitive. But not bad and pretty accurate.
I really like this app used in conjunction with my Wahoo TICKR, but I don't understand some parts of the calorie breakdown. Like what the heck is power/spd? How is it different from anaerobic/aerobic? I can't do a proper search on Google to figure it out, and the app doesn't explain it either.
I love this app. Before I used strava & endomondo. Wahoo give me the best answer for my ride. Big display on heart rate or speed. I also still can submit data to strava. Edit: with xiaomi note 4, the line trail of live map not appeared anymore. Frustrated
Like the in run announcements. Easy to use. Layout is good. Do not like that can't look at splits and no explanation of some of the features (ex: smoothness, contact time). No way to know how/what's being measured and how that compares.
Pretty bad Android 8.0 issues. I can't export workouts without the app crashing. Even when not in use and after exiting (and a force stop), it continues to be one of the worst offenders of battery usage. Neither issue was present on Android 7.1.2
The app itself is fine, other than connectivity. Connections to other Wahoo devices is temperamental at best. The only way I can keep the TKR, Blue SC and the RFLKT+ all connected is to have my Galaxy S7 mounted on my bars. Defeats having the RLFKT+. May as well just stick with the Strava display.
It is okay. It's the only Android app that works well with the Magellan Echo on a Google Pixel. I used the iPhone version for years, and the audio announcements on this version aren't even close! Let me control the trigger event, and then let me choose what audio cues I want. The iPhone version does that, but this one is weak. I used to recommend this app for people that wanted to train by heart rate zones because you could set that as a trigger for audio, and the app would alert you when you were working too hard or not hard enough. I can't recommend this version until they add that. Disappointing.
I have given up trying to use this app with my Huawei P8 lite. All workout details - heart rate, cadence, smoothness, etc. of all sessions are not transferrable to apps like strava. Wahoo doesn't store records or a history of your workouts for you to analyse the data, so the app is also useless. I
Export doubles Cadence to fit file format and to MapMyFitness. Support says it's not their problem but it's a third-party app issue, but when I open it up in fit file repair tool I can correct the Cadence and Export it to a proper fit file. I think wahoo can fix this. Disappointed customer.
Unfortunately, have to change it to 3 star. App is very good but i have bought a new android and i cannot backup my settings! Even with helium backup app i am unable to do the backup and transfer my data. Such a shame for a very good app.
One of thr few running apps tht shows current (instantaneous) heart rate. Let's the user calculate or manually set 5 hear rate zones. Uploads to Strava. Pace is very noisy, with swings of +/- 1 min/mile. Calendar has bug where blue exercise days don't display correctly. I emailed the dev about it and they are aware, but it's been months amd they haven't fixed it yet. Also, you can't manually enter workouts, such as from a treadmill.
Love this app. It is simple and works well. My Garmin Edge 520 failed. I found this app and was able to link all my sensors (HR, power and speed) and the GPS from my phone without effort.
free app supporting very inexpensive sensors. as a standalone app it makes a dumb but very good bike I got for free as good as a gym machine for me, after adding cadence and heart rate. the bike is a keiser m3 so speed and energy aren't accurately reportable in any case.
Wahoo Fitness can connect to the Powertap P1 pedals with Bluetooth on my Nexus 6P, but it only uses the power reading from one of the pedals even though it's connected to both. This is disappointing because it's one of the only apps to even connect with these pedals without needing an ANT+ dongle!
It doesn't rotate to landscape mode. It works fine, but it is not that impressive. I would like to control what it tells me (speed and time are basically same thing). It's a good start.
I like the app alot, but I had to drop the rate because the past two days it haven't be uploading to Strava :(. I lost a lot of mileage. Be blessed
My two TIKRs don't connect consistently anymore. After a week changing batteries, reseting bluetooth, etc. (and subsequently not being able to record three rides), I've given up and moved onto another brand.
I would wish for a auto resume function in this case: phone or app was restarted during a run, but no gpx track or training session was completed. I'll be happy to explain if necessary
Syncing with other apps is not working as it should. Strava for example just picks the time. Nike not working at all. It would be so nice if the other data would be synced with the services as well. There is a great potential here but cmon guys you need to even try!
Works with RFLKT far better then third party apps and that makes it my preferred cycling app. Sadly the GPS tracking isn't really up to scratch for use when walking as otherwise I'd use it for that too. There are other issues with distances and times, esp. syncing to Runkeeper, which are frustrating. Without a backend it needs to work particularly well with the services it does support and it doesn't quite make it. A way to sync weight would be juseful. RFLKT should get notifications. Also needs to be able to support ambient temperature without the discontinued RFLKT+ (e.g. Garmin Tempe / phone's own sensor / Weather Underground), especially as that is one of the default fields on the app tracking pages, and the RFLKT pages could usefully have phone / RFLKT / sensor battery level fields. App and RFLKT need Speed AND Pace display, not one or the other. App display needs to be customisable like RFLKT pages. That's a lot of slightly negative comment, but I just think this app has a lot going for it, especially in combination with RFLKT.
Needs to make much better use of all the data collected. A summary of calories burned would be good, not just hours and distance. Background of heart rate could be colored to easily show what zone you are in.
This is a really good, basic workout app with a focus on heart rate monitoring. The one suggestion I have is to have an audio notification when you enter and leave heart rate zones. The time based summary is good, but I would like to know when I enter the burn zone and when I need to push harder because I slipped out of it.
Great app. The only thing I'd like to see that seems to be missing is an in-app GPS signal strength indicator. Sometimes the app seems to take a long time to lock on a signal.
Great app with useful features and dashboard. One issue I'm seeing is a lot of big variation in the real time cadence value (from 95 to 50 to 30 back to 90), not sure if this is normal given that my pace was constant while variations occurred.
First app I've found that quickly and easily acquires the signal from my ANT+ gear and doesn't choke on treadmill workouts. Easily shares to other fitness platforms to ingest data into Google Fit. Haven't tried the app for outdoor workouts yet, but the best I've seen for indoor workout with sensors.
The fact that it works without phone is wonderful. It keeps good track of tour heart rate and pace. Great investment even for walking and weight lifting.
It seems to work fairly well. Some of the Bluetooth readings seem erratic. Would like to be able to see more history than four weeks.
Heart rate monitor and app which can't alert you when you move heart rate zones? Cannot understand not building such basic functionality into app for such sophisticated hardware.
I only use this while on my spin bike but it's perfect for training for when I am using my road bike (i use the Tickr hrm with my Garmin at these times). This app is perfect also for fat burning which is difficult on my road bike
PUZZLING experience with the App v 1.9.2.0. 1) I can't use my Sony Xperia android phone to update the firmware on my kickr SNAP - ever (in the related wahoo utility app). I get an error an firmware about a failure to respond to a control signal. But my wife's iphone works beautifully. 2) I can't even SEE the option to do an advanced spindown for the kickr SNAP. I look and look in all the menus but it just doesn't appear on the spindown page - I can't see it anywhere! 3) the iPhone app has more features - which just don't appear in the android app! (e.g. the option to have an external power meter control the trainer). I don't know where all these options have gone but it's driving me mad edit;+: Thanks for the reply. There appears to he a bug then becsuse the app doesnt onow ive tried tobpair a brand new kickr snap and need to calibrate it. Thanks
I would rate this app higher but the Bluetooth connection is really hit or miss. The wahoo utility will see my blue sc and count my pedal strokes and miles, but this app will not see my speed or cadence or hr and it's really random.
The app crashes in multi window.. Also sometimes the workout stops on its own especially strength workout.. You have to restart again with a new workout
Integrates as one would expect with a Bontrager Bluetooth/Ant+ speed/cadence sensor, and also is one of the few apps which will sync with Garmin Connect (as opposed to from it) - so far so good. Now for the negatives: - Will not automatically share to chosen websites (e.g. Garmin Connect) - Lacks auto pause when using external speed/cadence sensors - Doesn't estimate calories (Runkeeper etc do this, so why can't this app?) Having said all that, it's actually pleasantly surprising to encounter an app which isn't bloated (i.e. it focuses on recording activity and exporting to other services, rather than replicating existing ones).
Update 7/17/16: OPERATING SYSTEM BIAS!!! I encouraged a friend to use this app on her iOS phone. The differences were stark. The iOS version is much more user friendly and visually appealing. For example. In the iOS version you select wheel size from a drop down menu. Its ultra simple. However in the Android version the user needs to input his metric wheel circumference...which no regular person knows and this info has to be found on the internet. Why the difference between the 2 versions?

I switched to wahoo as it records both heart rate and speed+cadence using BLE to my smartphone. No sense in blowing a ton of money on Garmin kit. 1 star less because it's not as customisable as I'd like it to be, and the calorie burn calculation may be off a bit. Another feature missing is the ability to save my workouts such that I'm able to retrieve my previous workouts after a reinstallation.
