ELEMNT

Bluetooth connection with my phone (Galaxy A5 2016) is simply disastrous. The only way to reconnect Elemnt to my phone is to repair it, to reboot my phone and Elemnt or turning phone's BT off and on again. This is very tedious. Elemnt is a standalone computer, but it's phone-centric and this is simply unacceptable. Blaming Android fragmentation would be lazy because I had several competing computers and watches (G****n) ) which have none of this problems. Also, notifications don't work. Will update this review after updates to the app, but I'm not optimistic, as forums are full of users with similar problems (on an otherwise promising device and platform)

Need update for tbt navigation using ride with gps to too low budget and faulty, strava would be nice

Hope to support WhatsApp and other social media apps.

'Select' button within new 'search for location' feature only appears occasionally, seems like a bug as searching for the same place twice will sometimes work and others times not. Oddly switching between 2 apps seems to fix this and show the button.

It is a wonderful app and computer, but there has to be a way to let it go to sleep during an activity ( to save battery on those food stops, talking about 100mile+ rides that go on in the dark) only managed to get a 100 miles out of mine on a night ride to Stonehenge..

App and Elemnt worked awesome right up until update WF42 1217 AND APP version 1.7.011 (1111). After update no rides sync or are viewable. Nothing will update to 3rd party apps either ie. Strava, Training Peaks etc.... I keep getting message that unable to load ride file. I started a support ticket and have had some emailing back and forth for several days with no solutions or suggestions on what I can do to resolve the issue. Very frustrated. EDIT- I have resolved the issue at this time. It was an issue with communication between the elemnt and android device. I was running Android 4.4 and even though it says it should work it will not on my device until I upgraded to Android 7.0

Since updating yesterday to WF42-1217 my elemnt won't sync, it says "waiting for sync" but if you tap on ride it says "elemnt failed to locate workout data" up until this point an amazing device and app.

Wahoo does an excellent job updating the elemnt and making it a first-class device. It seems like every update to the app or the device is incredibly feature-rich and it makes ownership super exciting. I'm really grateful that I switched over from Garmin.

The search for location is a nice feature but the problem I have is when you put in a location it maps out only one route for you and the route it usually maps out isn't a safe route it should map out at least 3 options to choose from kind of like how Google maps navigation does it. Also include the option a check box of what to avoid eg: toll roads and highways

If been having problems, it's not showing the elevation graphics after the ride and it's recording the elevation wrong for instance if I upload my file to Garmin connect or Strava from the Wahoo elemnt app, the elevation is not correct with a difference of plus minus 200 metres, please fixs this.I'm running version WF42-1219

The app is very useful and it works well. I wish i could see more data about my ride as i can see on the ELEMNT. One question: is there a web site for the profile tab of the app?

Just updated latest software,can't wait until tomorrow so I can try the new updates. Keep up the good work wahoo

This new update prevents synching activities. :-(

my elemnt not turn-by-turn

The application is sold and does what it need to do (although it is behind the iOS version, it catches up). The biggest thing, though, is that customer service is fantastic - they stick with you even through the most unusual and unique problems (even if the problem likely won't impact anyone else).

Does not launch in my pixel running 7.1 crashes on launch 100% of the time. Please fix. Kind of pointless to have a smartphone enabled bike computer if the app doesn't work

Loving my Elemnt each and every update! You guys are awesome! Keep kicking Garmin! Hopefully the stages bug will be fixed soon!.....edit 11/17/2016. Everything is PERFECT

This app has gone from terrible to excellent and now, with the latest update, back to terrible again. PLEASE, PLEASE remove this last update. The app now takes over a minute to start and even longer to upload a ride! I loved this app before the latest update.

This update has caused the max cadence to be way off 150 today. The only thing that was happening with the old version was RWGPS loaded twice.

The app is awesome, but more importantly the Elemnt device is unbelievable!

I'm actually on my second elemnt. I bought an elemnt and returned it after a few weeks and picked up a 520. After monitoring the progress, I've decided to give it another try. The device has been much more solid and feels more complete than the first time around. I've also picked up a Kickr Snap recently, and controlling the trainer from this thing is very nice. The one item I'm still waiting for is structured workouts, but I've found I don't miss it as much as I expected.

Thanks to the Wahoo Elemnt team they got back in touch, and just told me to delete the App then reinstall it again .. bingo it's working like a dream and the Elemnt is up-to date now .. 5star service ..

Seems some earlier issues have been fixed. This works as I expect it to. I did notice you need to open the app every time for it to sync to your phone to get text and calls on the display.

6/16: I have been riding it for a while now and absolutely love it. Everything just works with this new update!!! 5/5: App will not load and crashes upon startup. 3/1: I have found that the app crashed with BT occasionally, the live view always has me in Africa, and I can't seem to reliably change my screen and customize it. Looking forward to updates.

UPDATE:App is getting better, crashes less, new turn by turn navigation looks good..... PREVIOUS VERSION: Recent update crashes on start up. Do not download ! Makes element unusable.....

This app will not take my wahoo cloud login on Android or iOS. Only Facebook login works and is not an option on Android. So Android cannot login. Heart rate zone calc does not work. Cannot even get name field to let me populate. Load gpx from file option is nothing but instructions to read with no function. Probably have to return the unit because my iPhone is not activated and Android app is broken.

Updating this review. Recent updates to the Elemnt device firmware and this companion apps have improved this significantly. Its now by FAR the premium cycle computer on the market.

Turn-by-turn FTW!

The ELEMNT itself has been improving but leaps and bounds with recent firmware updates. Nice bike computer for the "F Garmin crowd". The early revs were painful. App: Loses BT connectivity at times. Cannot specify the privacy setting for connected site uploads. Cannot choose a subset of connected sites for the auto upload. Occasionally needs a resync. But you don't *need* the app to enjoy the ELEMNT so it's more a hassle than a deal breaker while they work all that out.

love the Elemnt, awaiting strava live segments but apart from that i love that computer. the app works well too - even two updates earlier i was content. uploads with wifi and bt support works extremely well with the nexus p6. what would be nice is if the app itself showed all the data that was recorded - like temperature and the likes. seems it is not shown in the app. thanks

Update on my wahoo elemnt. I had to send mine back to Wahoo to get them to do the firmware updates as I could not get it to do any updates. When I got it back every thing has worked very well. I did find the problem with syncing with my phone. But found out how to get the phone to sync. If you turn The elemnt off and pull up the app on your phone get it to search for the elemnt, then turn on the elemnt it will sync every time. I have a Samsung galaxy s5 phone I bought to use with the Wahoo.

Great computer . Easy set up and easy to use. Very intuitive and great functions. I've had no issues at all. Updates are just adding to its versatility and can't think of anything it can't do .

All syncs fail after most recent update.

Latest app won't sync to devices, where's the testing before you release. Come on wahoo get a grip

Straight forward app for customizing Elemnt.

I don't know how to improve it.

Great features, easy as pie to setup and easy to read while riding. Routes work well on and off road. The screen is reflective, so I suggest you add a matte protector. I also wish I could interact more with the app, specifically zoom in on my current activity. It currently goes to Google maps. Or show my GPS position on a route too. I'm just a normal guy that likes to ride about 70 miles a week and this device was worth the upgrade from rflkt. Slow ride transfers suck.

Pros: Great computer. I can customize the screen to my liking. The screen is sharp and readable all day even during the night with the backlight on. Push notification works as intended. The button placements and screen UI are logical and takes few presses to get where I want to go. Turn by turn navigation works but I have figure out how to get it to tell me to turn left or right yet. Cons. Occasional bluetooth drop, I see the computer getting repaired with my phone several times. Pairing works for the most part, I only struggled once to get it to paired. I had to toggle my bluetooth or wifi to get it to repair again. As a side note: with Android devices, bluetooth connectivity is just plain terrible. So, its great the bluetooth pairings/connection on this devices works for the most part. With more updates from Wahoo and Android releasing fixes to their bluetooth software, hopefully we can get a better bluetooth experience. Overall I am happy with this new product. Hoping for more updates with more features and bug fixes. My is phone: Nexus 6P

Elemnt device is superb, great UI and features, but won't stay synchronised whilst riding. One of the reasons I bought the Elemnt was for live tracking - disappointed. I have an S6 Edge.
