About Say What
The "Say What" app is a non-verbal picture rescue for non-verbal emergency situations.
This is not your everyday communication system for non-verbal users, it is not an educational tool, that market is flush and it is not a communication replacement option either.
“Say What” is totally different! This APP is for you & me, the everyday person who likes to be prepared to assist others when needed. This APP is designed for everyone and anyone who wants to be of help in an emergency situation where verbal communication is not available. It’s ideal for those in the public who are in contact with non-verbal people or situations, like first responders, hospital staff, and workers in the community. But ideally we’d like it on every phone, which is why we want it FREE.
Imagine seeing a person in the community who is in crisis and acting out for whatever reason and they are unable to communicate. In a public setting, people usually become frightened and call the police, who are unable to communicate as well…With our growing numbers of people w/ Autism, and our lack of services for the homeless and mentally ill, chances are you have seen an incident escalate simply because the person could not communicate clearly.
Whether it’s due to a disability, drug interaction, illness, emergency situation or simply a different language, everyone understands the visual language of pictures. Realistic picture representation is a universal language.
Over 12 years ago, We developed the "Say What" picture rescue system on Anything-Gets.Com. Unfortunately, it was limited to a computer browser until the "Say What" picture rescue app. We want police, fire fighters and emergency response personnel to use the "Say What" picture rescue app in non-verbal emergency situations. We hope people find the value in having a picture rescue app for non-verbal emergency situations on their phones.
Thank you all for helping us give non-verbal people a voice through pictures.
