Berada di jantung kota Cilegon SMP MADINATUL HADID di dirikan oleh PT. Krakatau Stell Cilegon,
melalui yayasan AL-HADID pada tahun 1979. sebagai salah satu sekolah yang berwawasan Islami,
SMP Madinatul Hadid sekolah tipe A atau Sekolah Standar Nasional (SSN) dengan jumlah siswa
yang cukup banyak dan volume kegiatan yang beragam. Dari tahun ke tahun perkembangan
SMP Madinatul Hadid terus mengalami peningkatan, selaian berstatus SSN,
SMP Madinatul Hadid merupakan sekolah binaan Pustekom dan
menyandang status Sekolah Rintisan Berbasis Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK).
Saat ini SMP Madinatul Hadid, bersama komponen sekolah terus berusahan meningkatkan
kualitas pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan serta pengelolaan managemen sekolah
