About HYDRopz
HYDRopz selects the optimal water pipe size based on the sweet spot between the falling energy costs and rising pipe supply and lay costs as the size of pipe is progressively increased for a given application.
The energy costs are based only upon the costs to pump through the pipe in question, and not the complete distribution system.
The program will calculate the optimum pipe diameter for any given flow rate and annual volume duty for life cycles of 10 years, 15 years and 25 years with inputs for electricity tariff increases and NPV discounts.
Once optimized pipe diameters are derived, the user has the opportunity to input the nearest up sized pipe diameter available, from which it then calculates the actual friction losses and energy costs for the selected life cycle of the pipe.
